Stopped in after work for food and drinks with a friend and was very nice. Waitress was very attentive, blackberry margarita was amazing and food was delicious. Definitely will be back. Atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming.

Authentic food, humble and attentive service, soft lighting and native ambiance. They offer complimentary nachos with beans and salsa. The food arrives quickly after you order. The server was attentive to offer another bowl of nachos while we wait on our meal, so even it would have been longer, we wouldn't know. The portions size was big enough for a meal. Though I did find fajitas suitable for sharing portions than for one. But it could be individual choice as well. If you are craving for some authentic mole or Mexican cuisine, don't hesitate yo try them.

TRADICIÓN MEXICANA CON MENÚ SECRETO Dinora and Librado have been running this restaurant for 16 years now. As Mexicans, it's hard to pick a place you'd call "our family tradition" since you want it with good food and strong commitment to service. In the past 3 years we found it here for us. Still continues with DELICIOUS FREE UNLIMITED CHIPS and refried beans or salsa as an appetizer. You can find original Mexican cuisine taste (Like our favorite Grilled Molcajet) or if you are new to Mexican cuisine, they also have dishes for people new to Mexican cuisine (Like the Spinach Enchilada). Almost all entrees are served with a large portion of refried beans and rice, sharing a plate wouldn't be a bad idea. There's a secret menu and I highly recommend the "Camarones Monterrey" ($18.50) for about 8 prawns wrapped in bacon and covered in Chihuahua cheese with some poco de gallo. #ruizmedina

Tasty carne asada plate

I had the Carne Asada plate, and it was very tasty. I also had shrimp tostada as appetizer, but it was not that great. in fact, they delivered both the appetizer and the main dish at the same time which is a little strange. I definitely would like to come back to have another Carne Asada platter. service was also very good and the place overall very clean and well maintained

How the ranchero burrito arrived.

On Cinco de Mayo my Oregonian teen said "Mom, Mexican doesn't sound good." Where did this California born/ Arizona raised mom go wrong??!! WTH? Sigh. Kid made a pasta thing that night. So a couple days later my teen's dad offered to bring us some Trader Joe's necessities ( my hungry teen might have texted him a snack list) and takeout while I was wrapping up a long work day. We came up with Mazatlan because it was on his route. I shouldha known better. Honestly. The food was ready when he got there. It was mostly still hot when it arrived at my house. Teen's dad liked his mole enchiladas fine. Said for Oregon they were" typical and adequate". The appetizer guacamole and chips were ok.The guacamole was fresh. Chips were warm. Greasy/salty. House salsa reminded me of Pace. Teen's burrito was "okay" but missing all of its toppings which is why it was chosen in the first place. For $14.50 that was a very disappointing outcome. "Mom, I like my burrito from Mexicali Express better". ( and it is half the price) The anemic chimichanga arrived sitting on wet iceberg, so it had a soggy bottom, with not delicious bland mushy shredded chicken inside. Meh. Not the crispy fat flavorful golden brown Arizona chimichanga of my dreams. I remembered why I don't get them here ever. The rice and beans were fine. The guacamole in with the chimi was different (slimy) than the other guacamole. All in all not great. I am giving three stars because they were open for takeout, they were reportedly nice at pickup, they made decent guacamole (not great but ok). And it was ready in the time they said with some components that were fine. But I think we aren't likely to go back soon.

We love this place. Its consistency is legendary. The servers are always so eager to please. Had the peach margarita for the first time. It wasn't bad but I will stick to the tried and true original. Fajitas were tender and flavorful. The guacamole is so fresh... the chips are never ending and please, dont forget the hot picante sauce!

a plate of meat and vegetables

The employees are nice people. The food however came out warm cold, as if it was sitting there for a while. Another woman that ordered the exact same thing as I did, received sizzling hot food. The chorizo looked like it waa dry and old, and the carnitas had a weird grey color. Instead of apologizing for the food, the manager chose to try and defend himself making it seem like I was seeing things that weren't there. My partner also say the food and said it did not look appetizing. I would definitely not recommend.

It was a pleasant lunch with my granddaughter. The food was quickly served and had a great flavor. They were very good with her and talked with her as well. They bring out the xhios with salsa and bwans which is m favorite! The staff is great and the place is clean. The food is good and feels fresh.

This restaurant could be a case study in a book that delves into really poor business marketing…read more This restaurant has been here forever. There are quite a few Mexican themed restaurants and food trucks within a mile or two. There is a large Mexican population living here and Mexican workers are all over the place. So to stand out a business would need to really separate themselves from the herd. That is, they need to stand out in a positive way. This place is a massive fail in that regard. I happen to enjoy Mexican cuisine a lot. I always appreciate being surprised by an amazing, tasty, reasonably priced, filling Mexican restaurant. There are several nearby neighborhood Mexican places that provide that experience consistently. This is not one of them. You will find unremarkable food here. Indifferent wait stall. A boringly average menu. Smaller portions at premium prices. Nothing to see here folks. This restaurant has had coupons in the local shoppers every week for decades. So when I decided to check this place out I showed up with one of those coupons. If I recall it was a coupon that took a dollar or two off the meal price if you spent more than a certain amount and ordered a specific set of items. So at checkout time they declined to accept the coupon because I ordered a medium drink and not a large. Huh? Rare for a business to use coupons to completely alienate new customers! Do I care about the two bucks that they chiseled out of me? No I do not. Would I ever patronize a business that is this out of touch with what good customer service is? No. Never been back. Never will. What the heck, Mazatlan has an unlimited supply of new customer prospects coming by so they don't need me, right? What a shabby outfit. YMMV.

I wanted pizza. He wanted a burrito. He had mentioned wanting to try this food truck so I looked it up on Yelp (obviously!) And got the address. We pulled up and there was one person ahead of him so I figured it would take a while. He got a Carne Asada Burrito. He got two different salsas a red and a green and he got a side of pickled veggies. Which were jalapenos, carrots and onions. He got his order super fast and I said that's a small burrito lol but it was just the side of pickled veggies. But when we got home he said WHOA this burrito is huge!!! He couldn't eat it all in one sitting. He ate the green sauce and said it was one of the best hot sauces he'd ever had. I licked the lid and he wasn't wrong. The flavor was so rich and there was heat but it wasn't overwhelming the flavor. Very very good. He didn't try the red sauce so I didn't get to try it. The pickled vegetables though. OM*G they are THE BEST I've ever tasted. Such good acidity and flavorful as *^%# YES this stuff was amazing. He said next time he's going to pack the box full of them lol. Frankly I'd go there JUST for those veggies and hot sauce. He said 5 stars GREAT value and great flavor. So we will absolutely be back!!! Oh and next time (sorry y'all) I'll get pictures!!!

I really should have stopped there. They were very filling. I don't know what I was expecting but they are potato taquitos and topped with meat. A good amount of it too. The bummer is that it did not travel well. When I fit home I ate the crispy ends off but has the middles as leftovers. Almost like chilaquiles. The pork taco was very good. I like the microgreens on it. I was hoping the tortilla was fluffier but can't argue with handmade tortillas The fish taco was put together well but I am not a big fan of chipotle. It was glazed in chipotle and the slaw was chipotle so I was not a fan. For the size and quality the price is right. On par with any decent taco place around.

Ambience: The decor is colorful and vibrant without feeling overwhelming. It has that perfect balance of lively but still comfortable. It works for date night or mom's night out. The energy feels warm and inviting. Service: The servers were attentive, friendly, and efficient. Food came out quickly, but nothing felt rushed. You can tell they care about the experience. Food: The margaritas were simple but outstanding -- refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. The fried chayote completely surprised me. If you've never had chayote, it's a mild, slightly crisp squash. Here, it was fried golden and light with a tender bite inside. The dipping sauce was incredibly flavorful -- bold, savory, and layered. Every bite honestly punched my taste buds in the best way possible. Nothing bland here. We also ordered the braised beef taquitos, and wow. Crispy on the outside, filled with potatoes, and topped with flavorful delicious beef on top and clearly made fresh to order. Everything tasted vibrant and well-seasoned. Overall, ambience, service, and food were all top tier. We'll definitely be back.
