This place was recommended by a friend who has lived here her entire life and happens to be Hispanic. She said it's as good as it gets in the Beaverton/Tigard/Lake Oswego area. She was right. There is a gigantic menu of food options, something to make every one happy for all the vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. We rolled in with a party of 7 on a Friday night and were seated within minutes--even though the place was busy. The restaurant is huge with tons of seating, colorful walls, music going--it honestly felt like the perfect spot for anything from a family dinner to a girls' night out or even a casual weekday meal. As we sat down, our table was set with chips and salsa (of course), plus beans and this coleslaw-y dip situation that was a little weird but actually delicious. The menu is stacked--pages and pages of options (with photos as well), and the drink menu is just as loaded. Portion sizes? MASSIVE. We all left with to-go boxes. I got the steak fajitas which were flavorful thanks to the marinade, but heads up--mine had a lot of onions and the steak was a bit chewy. That said, the rice and beans on the side were delish. I live less than 5 minutes away, so I highly doubt the avocado would oxidize this fast, as the slice you gave me was pretty pretty rough looking! Came for dinner at around 7 pm. Ample parking. Juan the young host may need some coaching on how to welcome folks. Stephanie took over and led us to our booth by the window facing the busy road nearby. She was friendly and quickly brought us the chips and salsa to start with. I love the authentic decoration they have around the restaurant. The custom made booths, chairs, bright colors, paintings, bird carvings, etc. The background Mexican music was just the right tempo and volume. They did a good job bringing out the authentic Mexican theme. We settled for good ol' water for drinks, but if you are a Margarita fan, they have amazing, large-portion adult drinks. I visited with my sister, her partner and my parents several years ago at the Salem location. This is one of those Americanized Mexican restaurants. The kind that heaps gobs of cheese on everything. Even my mom who probably wouldn't enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine remarked that the tamale was mostly cornmeal. So there you go. Even a connoisseur of Americanized Mexican food wasn't impressed. As for me, I had the chicken mole. It was super sweet. I was famished so I didn't send it back or take it out on the server. That would be just rude. This restaurant has been around awhile so decided to give it a try. I've often seen customers come out of the place. The staff are friendly, the chairs are booth style with a deep sunken in cushion. Chips and salsa and side of bean dip (refried beans) were average not great Burrito came out looking appetizing but after a few bites I found mostly sautéed onions and peppers. There was less than an ounce of fish inside. I ordered the shrimp burrito but asked to substitute white fish. The fish smelled foul and tasted off. As others have mentioned the prices are high and at $20 for a seafood menu entree this dish was all rice, beans and fajita veggies smothered in cheese. I am so thoroughly upset with my experience I have to share. I went to the bar area with my two friends tonight. I have a registered service animal and I went to sit at a table that would be the most comfortable for me based on my disability. As I was sitting down we were told we could not sit at that table (seating for 6) and had to sit at another table which we did. As we were cashing out over an hour later 2 people walked in and sat at that same table. I of course said I am sure you are going to ask them to leave correct? My waiter told me that they had more people coming and had reserved the table. There was no indication on the table it was reserved. At the time we paid our bill there were two people sitting there 20 minutes after those two people arrived. I am shocked that this establishment takes violating people with disabilities lightly and I will be sharing this experience with as many people as possible in the hopes that they do not support this behavior. read more

We came here after finding our first choice dinner stop closed. The decorations in the place were very tasteful and there was definitely some thought and money put into the place when it opened. We were given chips, salsa and bean dip upon being seated. There was a funky well water taste in the water and some of the food. I didn't love how they added oregano to the fresh salsa. I wish they had more meat options (al pastor plz). Portions were big though and this is definitely a great spot if you love seafood as most of the menu was just that. I ordered an horchata that was deliciously perfect. I ordered chicken flautas they we very yummy, one of the best I've had! The only draw back was our server was a man and did a horrible job! I'm a big tipper and usually tip 20 - 100% depending on the service, he missed out on a great tip! He brought our drinks and never brought our water. He asked us once how are food was one time. We waited over 15 minutes for him to come and bring us our check, he never showed up so I went to the bar and asked someone to find our server and let him know we were ready for our bill. Mexican food is one of favorite so I try to visit one every time I travel and my fiance and I visited here while on vacation a few days ago. First of all, the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL! The colorful, ornate tile work and paintings are gorgeous. The service was quick and friendly, the menu was vast and all of the food was fresh and hot. We did wait about 5 minutes before our waitress greeted us, but they were busy and the service great. I was happy to see a Mexican pizza as an appetizer since Tack Bell discontinued theirs. Wow, Mexican pizza with a homemade tortilla shell, fresh ground beef, and fresh guacamole was better than I imagined! For drinks my fiance had a Pina colada which was big and creamy and I had a strawberry margarita which was delicious and delivered quickly. We split a relief Mexicano, refried beans and rice and chorizo with eggs. Everything was served hot, delicious and quickly.
