Our AC was not blowing cold air two days ago when the weather was reaching over 100 degrees. I reached out to John the next day and he promised to do the service call first thing the next day. I told John that maybe our AC needed refrigerant because it was not blowing cold air, but John caution me that it could be something else besides refrigerant. He was right, it was a blown fuse after his diagnostic investigations. He also help discovered that we had some air flow blockage and that turns out we had a very dirty air filter. He gave us a new air filter to change the old one out. Overall, I am very impressed with John's technical expertise on HVAC and I trust his judgement and recommendations. I will use his service again whenever I have problems with my HVAC unit.

Review update: nearly a year later, my project is un permitted and Matt, the owner, has stopped responding. At the very least, there is one aspect of my installation that is not up to code (and they knew it) . At worst, I paid extra for a very high efficiency expensive system because I intended to file for energy incentives to offset. Since I have no permits, I get no incentives. THOUSANDS of dollars lost. I shouldn't have made final payment until after permit sign off. That part is my fault. Filing complaint with licensing board. read more

Paul, the owner from MechPros HVAC came over the weekend to do the assessment and consultation. It was very helpful be able to do it over the weekend so I didn't have to take time off from work. He was on time, communicated well, and very thorough. Among the half a dozen vendors I contacted, he was among the few that truly listened to my input instead of trying to upsell or push options I wasn't interested in. After comparing all the quotes, MechPros' quote was very competitive. I decided to go with them and scheduled the job which was able to start quickly in about a week after signing the contract. On the scheduled day, Will and Kieran, the two installation crew members, arrived right on time. They were courteous, personable, and professional, and did a good job. They kept the job site clean and neat with drop clothes with minimum disruption. After two days of work, the installation was done. They cleaned up nicely, took away all the disposable materials, and restored everything back to where things were. The installation job was done very neatly in the attic and backyard. I can tell they are proud of their work too. The new system is much better than the system it replaced. After the system started up, I noticed some issues. Paul was very responsive and sent a technician immediately to check it out. After a repair that wasn't successful, he personally came out and concluded that the issue was related to the equipment. Paul took responsibility and ownership of addressing the equipment problem under warranty with the manufacturer. He sped up the resolution by fronting the cost of providing replacement components and dealing with the warranty replacement parts separately to reduce the system down time. I appreciate MechPros HVAC and Paul for taking ownership and having customer service as a top priority. After the problem was resolved, MechPros also helped coordinate the city inspection to secure the final permit approval. I would not hesitate to recommend MechPros HVAC for anyone who needs HVAC system services.

If you are considering using Environmental Heating and Air Solutions (EHA Solutions)--even through…read morethe Costco program--please read this first and look elsewhere. We paid over $36,000 for a flagship Lennox Signature Series heat pump system, and the entire experience has been an absolute nightmare of safety violations, incompetence, and broken contracts. Here are the documented facts of our installation: 1. Safety Hazards & Property Damage During the install, the crew disconnected our gas line during unistall of our gas furnace without shutting off the main valve, causing gas to leak into our home on two separate occasions. They also haphazardly stored heavy, explosive oxygen tanks and oil inside our plastic deck box, permanently deforming and damaging our property and creating fire hazard. 2. Immediate System Failures & "Vaporware" Fixes Within the first 24 hours, the system suffered critical electrical shutdowns, throwing "Inverter DC Peak Faults" and shutting off our heat every morning. The system's own diagnostic panel showed impossible voltage spikes (550V) and 0.0 subcooling (wrong refrigerant readings). Instead of fixing it, EHA technicians repeatedly dismissed these hard mechanical failures as mere "display glitches." We later found out from Lennox engineering that the inverter error is a known defect with no current fix other than a theoretical future software update. 3. Unauthorized Modifications & Broken Zoning EHA breached our contract. They certified our existing ductwork as "adequate" in writing, but then performed unapproved structural modifications to our ducts without a signed Change Order. As a result, they completely broke our zoning system. 4. Severe Compressor Vibration and Unprofessionalism They mounted our variable-capacity outdoor unit on a field-fabricated, angle-iron stand, creating a severe harmonic vibration that wakes us up in the middle of the night. When they came back to "fix" it, they wedged isolation pads under the connection brackets without our permission or awareness, making the noise even worse. To top it off, during an onsite visit, the Lennox field technician was confrontational and actually told us directly that he would never replace his own gas furnace with a heat pump--a stunning admission about the very product they just sold us. We have officially demanded a full removal of the equipment and a full refund through Costco, and we are escalating this to the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Do not trust this company with your home, your safety, or your money.
