We had rodents that damaged several heater vents in the crawl space... never knew they were there until little tuffs of vent insulation started blowing into the house. Took care of the rodents, then Mays Heating & Air to the rescue! DA SCENE: Had several outfits come out to quote the work. Right from the get-go Kyle and Matt just felt "right". Direct and frank communication concerning the situation and effort required. Provided options and real "what if" scenarios. No hard sell, no mind games. DA WORK: They did their best to contain cost - a couple outfits wanted to replace much of the system and vents, but Matt & Kyle provided options as they worked from vent to vent, explaining things along the way. They had great updated diagnostic equipment allowing me to view real time the interior condition of the vents without having to get under the house myself. After the repairs to 3 different vent systems, they brought out the "beast" to thoroughly clean the vents - a robot looking machine, like chubby R2D2. They were very professional and thorough at a very competitive price on what was to be a standard annual maintenance/service job They discovere HVAC/renovator contractor had not wired the heat pump/furnance system correctly to take advantage of it being a 2-phase system that I'd paid more for. They researched it and came back a second time to wire it correctly. They also caught that HVAC/renovator contractor had placed a mini-split compressor within 6.25 to 6.75 inches from the wall and the spec says 9 13/16 (I'll follow up with the installing contractors to get this correcte). A minor, but important thing is that they advised no need to replace filter even though it has been in for 2-3 months it is still very clean. And on original visit helped me search through files to find paperwork that verified system was in fact a two-phase system that I'd paid for. Also pointed out and caused me to dig deep that with present exhorbitant electric prices and stable natural gas prices, to save money I should not use the heat pump heating but rely on natural gas HE 95+ gas I have in series (even though I purchased a high efficiency heat pump). And this all started as I just needed and asked for a annual maintenance that the manufacturer requires in order to be warranty repair eligible. read more

Call was to look into a gas furnace heater not turn on. Diagnostics provided was very basic and did not provide any specifics. It's an old furnace heater and i knew that. Felt like a sales pitch than any interest in trying to fix the issue at hand. I was able to get it fixed with a different contractor very easily. They came in did the job no fuss or gimmicks. 75$ for the diagnostics was not well spent. Very disappointed about the experience. We recently had our garage insulated and converted it into a playroom / living space, but we were still finding even a 90 degree day was still uncomfortable temperature wise in the garage. I began doing research on a mini-split system just for our garage. A bunch of quotes later, i found Matt and Mays Heating and Air. If I could give this company more stars I would! Our AC started blowing warm air the morning of 4th of July during a long heat wave. We called several place and 1 company strung us along all day on the Friday 5th. By that night we were desperate for help and called Mays at 10pm and got an answer machine so we just hung up intending to call the next morning. I found Matt and Bryson at May's HVAC thru Yelp. They were professional and quick in diagnosing potential problem w/ both of my heating units. I was getting ready to sell the house, so was not looking to spend a fortune on repairing or changing out two central heat units. Being somewhat handy and an engineering background, I told Matt that I was looking for someone to work with to diagnose the problem, and not looking to change a new unit as most companies these days seem to do and ask or pressure you to sign up for an annual service contract w/ them. These guys were a pleasure to work with and very responsive via text. if you are a handy type who don't mind getting your hands dirty changing out a few parts, these guys are willing to work with you to try out a few parts by changing suspected parts w/ your own time and labor.
