I explained our dog's situation and a couple of technicians grabbed a cart to assist me with transporting my large dog into the facility. They quickly evaluated her and made sure that not only was my dog comfortable, but that I was comfortable as well. The emergency room techs were very attentive to my dog. They were constantly checking on her while we waited for her to be examined. After they conducted the initial exam, they proceeded to run tests. They went above and beyond by asking me if I would like to watch from the window while they took x-rays and blood to ensure that my dog was at ease. After the exams and tests were completed, the doctor explained in great detail what had taken place. They informed me that my dog had a stroke and recommended that she be seen by a neurologist. The doctor went above and beyond by proceeding to call local neurologists and place a referral for my dog. The attentiveness and time the facility spent taking care of my dog were exceptional. I was beyond impressed with Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) of Redmond and I would highly recommend this location for care of animals in an emergency.

I understood the need to prioritize urgent/emergent needs which is why I didn't dock too much but we really didn't get checked on for like three and a half hours. When we were seen, the staff were polite kind and prescribed medication to help him with discomfort while we waited to see our standard vet. The cost wasn't too bad either, around $300 for the eval plus three medications. Would definitely be back here in case of emergency.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was caring, attentive, and calm, which made a stressful situation much easier to handle. Communication was outstanding throughout the entire visit -- they explained what was happening, what they were doing, and what to expect every step of the way. We especially appreciated that they not only allowed us to stay with Patty, but actively encouraged us to lightly participate to help ease her discomfort. That meant a lot to us as pet owners. The facility itself was clean, organized, and well-run, which added to our confidence in the care Patty was receiving. They seemed to work well as a team and it was clear that everyone genuinely cared about her well-being. We're incredibly grateful for the compassionate, high-quality care they provided and would absolutely recommend this emergency vet to anyone in need.

Our puff scout is very rambunctious, and the team exuded so much love and kindness for her the entire time she was there. It was scary to put her under anesthesia, but the skill and knowledge of this team made it so much easier. So grateful for their team who helped get us the answers and care plan we needed for our pup. Dr. Partnow is one of a kind. A note on the facility overall, it is so clean and comfortable. I had to bring our other dog with us to the appointment, because she's anxious to be left behind, and the front desk showered her with treats, and even make sure that we had extra water in the room. It's amazing to be at a vet facility that so unabashedly loves the animals, and the culture is so strong here!

I would like to especially shout out Ashton, who was kind enough to make Penny a beautiful plate of sweets and even shared her own piece of pie. It was so helpful to be around such a caring individual at the worst moment of my life. We had taken Penny in once before, and my husband and I both appreciated the set up of the clinic - you can see your animal being cared for and be with them every second. We didn't ever stay overnight with Penny during a hospitalization, but what an amazing thing to be able to be with them the whole time. Other emergency vets aren't like that. Thank you, VEG!

She had been scratching around her eyes, and had developed some scratches that were inflamed. Ultimately, she was prescribed antibiotics, with a proposed eye dye. The medical director was my treating vet, and she explained why the eye dye was suggested, but not required. In an expensive time, I'm very appreciative that they didn't push for an unnecessary test. She and the team all had great bedside manner. Yes, the wait was a bit long, but it wasn't through any fault of the staff; multiple stat cases had come in and understandably, skin irritation wasn't at the top of the to-do list. Also, they did let me know up front that it would be a bit of a wait, so again, good communication. While I hope I never have to take my baby into an emergency vet, I would definitely come back to VEG.

Dear Pet Owners, I…read moreturned 10-years-old 2 days after Christmas, and I had been begging my parents for a puppy. I was so excited when I woke up on my birthday to a doggy licking my face. I ended up naming my new puppy "Pepper" and she was a small black dog with a white chin and white paws. My parents were told that she was a little over 8 weeks old. After 1 week, we noticed Pepper wasn't eating much, so daddy called Pilchuck to see if he could get her in for a visit the same day? They told him yes and said he had to give them money over the phone and told him to bring her there at 9:30am. I had school that day, but I knew my daddy would take good care of her. When he brought her there, they made him sit in his car with Pepper because they told him she might be really sick with something called Parvo. After waiting 45 minutes, they came out and got Pepper and they were wearing suits that looked like they worked with scary stuff. When they took Pepper into the room, they tried to take blood from her, but the lady didn't know how to take blood. She put something into Pepper's mouth, and that made her start to puke. That lady then made another lady come in to help take blood and they finally got some. When the vet came back in the room, she told my daddy that Pepper didn't have Parvo, but that her sugar levels were low and she needed medicine. Then they said they needed to run a bunch of tests on her that would cost $3,200-$4,200. Daddy said he didn't have that much money, and they asked how much he had? He said $1,500 and they said they could make her better with that much money, but she would have to stay for the day. When I got home from school, Mommy told me that Pepper wasn't feeling good and that she stayed at the vet for the day to give her medicine so she would feel better. Nobody called my parents until 5:30 that night to say that Pepper wasn't feeling better and that they wanted more money. My daddy asked what was wrong with Pepper and they told him that because he wouldn't give them more money, they wouldn't do any tests to see what was wrong. When he said he didn't have a bunch of money, the doctor told him that he should make Pepper go to sleep for forever. Daddy asked what they needed to get her feeling better and they said they would call back. At 9:30pm that night, my daddy finally got a message that said Pepper's overnight care started at 9pm and he had to give them money to keep her for a sleepover. This made my daddy confused because they never called to even ask if she could sleep over. At 9am, the vet called and said Daddy was trying to avoid them and not pay for Pepper's sleepover. After they made my daddy give them $567 more, they told him that she was doing much better. They said that she could go home, but she needed extra care because she was younger than what we were told. They said she was about 5 weeks old and she didn't know how to eat food yet, and that's why she wasn't feeling good. Even though I didn't like this idea, my parents thought it would be good to keep Pepper at the vet for the day. Finally, at 7pm, my daddy went to Pilchuck to pick up Pepper and he stayed there for over 45 minutes to make sure he knew all he needed to do. Before he left, he told the doctor about me and said he did not want to bring Pepper home yet if she wasn't feeling better. He even asked the lady if she had any kids and if this was her dog, would she bring her home? She said she had a daughter, and would bring Pepper home. I think he just wanted to know if her kids would be good with a puppy like I am? Pepper finally got home at 8:30. I knew Pepper would be happy because my mommy was going to help me take care of her. When we took Pepper out of her blankie, she had a bandage around her neck and 2 bald spots on her legs. They said she needed food and medicine every 4 hours. By 3am, Pepper wasn't moving around very much, she just acted like she was very tired and just went limp when mommy tried to feed her. She told my daddy to call the vet. When daddy called them, he said my mommy was in the car on her way, and they said he had to give them money over the phone. He reminded them that he didn't have a lot of money and they told him to get a new credit card to pay before they would help Pepper and then they hung up on him. Right after that they called him back and said that Pepper was not allowed to go there because the dr. was busy. So, he called mommy to come back home. When I woke up in the morning, I could hear my mommy crying and my daddy walked into my room and told me that Pepper had died when I was asleep. I thought that people that wanted to be a vet did it because they love animals, not because they love the money that animals make them. If you have a pet that you really love, even if you have had them for 1 minute or 100 years, please do not take them to this vet. If they are okay with a puppy dying and a kid like me being sad, they will not care about your fur babies. From, Hadley

My first visit to the vet was quite concerning. My cat hadn't eaten or used the litter box for 12 hours since vomited, so I brought him in. They recommended an anti-nausea shot and IV fluids. When my cat was returned, I noticed blood spots on the technician's nose. He denied my cat bled, but another technician later confirmed he did bleed a little. Why would the first technician lie? Second visit: 12 hours later, I brought my cat back because he wasn't getting any better. It was almost midnight, and they told us we'd have to wait 2 to 4 hours for an X-ray. My cat also got another fluid injection while we waited, plus some sedative for the scan. Hours later, the vet said there was some unidentifiable object in his middle abdomen that wasn't blocking anything, and he had a really low white blood cell count and a fever. It was almost 1 AM, and everyone was exhausted, but the way the vet explained things made me so worried, especially when he brought up pancreatitis. I wish he could've just said it simply so I could understand and not freak out so much. My cat was sent home again, with antibiotics for the fever and another 12 hours of monitoring.. My poor cat was so stressed and scared after his visit, he even hid when we got home and peed himself! I can't imagine what he went through or saw behind those closed doors, it was so unnecessarily stressful for everyone. Thankfully, he used his litter box and ate a little later that night.

We are fur sitting our daughters senior baby boy while she's out of state. On our watch, he got a hold of grandpas 68% Peruvian dark chocolate he forgot he left on his food tray. While no one was looking Shostakovich sniffed it out. And of course ate it. Although he's deaf, somewhat not able to see very well due to cataracts, and multiple health issues, he seems to find the chocolate stashes when he stays with us. His littler mate brother who actually lives with us never does. This is Shostakovich third time doing this. And we make sure to scour the place of chocolate before he comes over. Apparently not good enough. This time around we didn't even contact poison control, we drive at fast as we can to VEG er. We didn't want anything to happy while on our watch. So induce vomiting, checking vitals, since he is a high risk dog, who is going in 15 years old, high heart rate, and high BP, Dr. Shaw and poison control felt it was necessary to monitor Shostakovich overnight. So next morning after six hours of monitoring Shosta was released. We are still making sure he's ok since he had Gastro issues as well. Bit due to the chocolate, it was a separate issue he already had, but per our daughters request they tested him for it. Our daughter paid that portion of the bill. Our bill for the chocolate incident was 2300.00 yes it very high. But since it's on our watch we didn't want to have our daughter pay, the bill she had to pay for testing was about 1800.00 So whoever is reading this...get pet insurance! Our daughter has spent thousands and thousands of dollars due to his health. People say just put him down. We say, that's not an option. Even though he's a senior dog, he runs around like he's a puppy still, he's happy, doesn't show signs of pain. He's a little stinker for always getting trouble since he was born the runt of the litter, and grew double the size of his brother. But has more health issues than his brother. But unless doctors say otherwise, he will get loved until it's time. So thanks Dr. Shaw and staff for taking care of our grandfur Shostakovich. Also, their facility is way larger than others we've been to. We live closer to others, but we didn't mind the 20 minute drive. Plus after being there all night we finally got to eat dinner at midnight. It's nice that this place is not too far from the only Del Taco in the state.
