In October, we had an after-hours emergency with our labrador whose back legs were not functioning. Upon arrival, I immediately went to the front desk where I was greeted promptly. I explained our dog's situation and a couple of technicians grabbed a cart to assist me with transporting my large dog into the facility. They quickly evaluated her and made sure that not only was my dog comfortable, but that I was comfortable as well. The emergency room techs were very attentive to my dog. They were constantly checking on her while we waited for her to be examined. After they conducted the initial exam, they proceeded to run tests. They went above and beyond by asking me if I would like to watch from the window while they took x-rays and blood to ensure that my dog was at ease. After the exams and tests were completed, the doctor explained in great detail what had taken place. They informed me that my dog had a stroke and recommended that she be seen by a neurologist. The doctor went above and beyond by proceeding to call local neurologists and place a referral for my dog. The attentiveness and time the facility spent taking care of my dog were exceptional. I was beyond impressed with Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) of Redmond and I would highly recommend this location for care of animals in an emergency. read more

The folks here are great! I have a dachshund who we suspected had early symptoms of IVDD and wanted to get him seen just in case. The real con here was how long we took to get seen. I understood the need to prioritize urgent/emergent needs which is why I didn't dock too much but we really didn't get checked on for like three and a half hours. When we were seen, the staff were polite kind and prescribed medication to help him with discomfort while we waited to see our standard vet. The cost wasn't too bad either, around $300 for the eval plus three medications. Would definitely be back here in case of emergency. read more

Gave me no other information and delayed giving me prescriptions for her. I was told they didn't have it in stock and I came back 3 days later for a written prescription they could have been able to give me day of. The doctor overseeing her never came and blew me off when I tried to ask questions. My dog got worse and died shortly later I was distraught and called to speak to the medical director. Addy picked up the phone and she was nice, and she connected me with Dr. Melanie Bowden who seems empathetic and competent. Despite a reasonable conversation with the medical director, I believe management is only as strong as the providers and the quality of care delivered to patients on the floor. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would! While we didn't have a life-threatening emergency, our dog slipped before going down the stairs and had been limping, crying, and shaking all day. We decided to bring her in, and I'm so glad we did for several reasons: 1. We now have a local emergency vet we'll absolutely return to. 2. She received medication for her pain. 3. Everyone was so kind and professional. I honestly wish they had a primary care section, too, because in the 3.5 years we've had Mochi, we've never received better care from any vet. I was wavering on whether or not to write this, but it's 3am and I can't stop thinking about my dog's visit to VEG earlier today which was nothing like our first visit. Per usual, the nurses were great. The vet we saw, however, was not the same caliber as we had on our first visit. She's also not listed as the vet of record on the invoice or discharge plan. My dog had 2 seizures this weekend and I was worried he might be having a stroke, so I called VEG and brought him in. He was not behaving like his normal loving self, so had to be sedated for a blood test but I never even learned the results of said bloodwork. He is, however, still experiencing the side effects of sedation and it's made for an incredibly long night and stressful situation for him. He was also given an anti-nausea medication, but I was never told why this was needed. When the vet popped into our room, she said the dog's behavior on sedation wasn't normal and that I should be thinking about his quality of life, intimating that I potentially euthanize my beloved pet right then. When I asked the nurses who came in to draw blood, they said his behavior was totally normal for a dog on a sedative. While we did get an emergency seizure medication, I didn't get much guidance from the vet. And although she was mostly patient and soft spoken with the dog, we didn't see much of her and we left with more questions than we came in. Reflecting back on this visit, I wish I wouldn't have brought my dog in and just waited to talk to our regular vet. I think this whole experience just stressed my poor dog out even more and we left feeling even worse than the emergency that brought us in. I will add again that the nurses were amazing. Jess answered questions for us and was super helpful when my dog was being really challenging about taking an oral medication. Should we need future ER for pets, I'll probably ask who would be seeing us and/or go to another option in Kirkland instead. read more

This is our new go to destination for pet urgent and emergency care. It is exactly as their website describes. Not the usual "pet hospital" experience, which is a very very good thing. The entire VEG is not only attentive - they are very caring, genuinely. For the pets, and the people. Pet care takes place where pets prefer it, on the floor (beds upon request), on raised care platforms, or in private rooms. And there are snacks (for people and pets), cold water, coffee, etc. The triage is amazing - so efficient. Pets never leave your eyes, always within reach (unless you prefer to not be there, you are there as an active part of the care experience). They demonstrated compassion, efficiency, and also strong expertise. Costs are fair/reasonable and disclosed upfront. The vibe inside is caring, positive, and committed to the important tasks at hand. I really love this place. If 10 stars was an option - they would have all 10. I can't say enough good things about this ER. We've been to others but this one stands out. First thing I said when I walked in was that reminded me of the show The Pitt but with animals. We ended up here on a Saturday night because our pup had intestinal issues. She is a lab and is afraid of shiny floors and immediately they brought us a blanket and got us a private room, recognizing her fear. Each employee sat on the floor with her and you could see that they all loved dogs. Every single person we interacted with was kind and empathetic. They offered water, hot cocoa anything we need it. They kept us in the same room as our dog the entire time other than an x-ray. They were transparent and kind. We ended up back there the next day and had the same wonderful experience. First, I am very happy and grateful that there's veg in Redmond. I had higher expectations from a learned vet. I took my dog, since he vomited twice in the day. Spent about 5 hours at veg. I understand and appreciate the triage process that lengthened my stay. The vet touched my dog in the stomach area and stated that he reacted so, he must have pancreatitis. She gave him opioids, multiple injections and did blood test costing 1300+. I argued that my dog would react the same way if anyone other than me touches him anywhere. He gets anxious. Gave me opioids, painkillers and antacid for 2 weeks. I stopped it the second day cause my dog stopped drinking water. I started inspecting his poop and suspected parasite since I saw a slimy white hair like stuff. I gave him pet armour anti parasite. I again observed that there were larger couple of white slimy long worm in his poop. This time it was very clear. He started eating and drinking normally from the next day. My issue with the vet is that, I hope it's not true, but I now believe that the vet is incentivised to prescribe more stuff and get higher revenue. I expect the vet to be thoughtful and go systematically, focusing on the dog health vs prescribing with a large list and bill, with only a 5 minutes inspection and completely ignoring the owner. She almost made me feel that I am completely wrong and my dog will suffer because of me. That made me super guilty and I submitted. I ended up paying a lot of money for wrong diagnosis and I lost my trust in the vet forever. read more

One never uses these services for fun, it's always under very stressful circumstances. Finding VEG was a blessing for us as we were in a dire situation with our beautiful girl. Given the severity of the situation, they were able to bring a gurney to the car to get our fur baby transferred into the hospital. They provided 5 star care and service. They were incredibly kind and walked us through our options with compassion and we were never asked to leave her side (like we have been at other places). My old dog got into a fight with a large raccoon in our backyard around 2am a few nights ago after it tried to come in the dog door. It was an immense relief to find VEG in the middle of the night. The staff were all very kind, professional and communicative. They triaged him immediately. Because he was stable, we had a bit of a wait while more urgent pets were cared for, which is absolutely appropriate, so they brought us a pad for him to lay down and some blankets, as well as offering water, coffee and snacks. They took excellent care of my dog giving me clear information and options, the medications he needed, contacted me to check on him the next day, and sent my regular vet all of the information for his follow up appointment. They give a clear and reasonable cost estimate up front which helps alleviate an already stressful situation. My dog is almost all healed up and doing well. I cannot express how truly grateful I am and how reassuring it is to know that in an emergency we have such a fantastic veterinary group nearby! read more

The only place I will take my pet in an emergency. I was met at the door by experienced medical techs who took my pet directly to treatment. I was allowed to be with my pet, never out of my site. Not only were they the most experienced, expert and efficient medical team, they were also so caring and empathetic. I have had to bring the love of my life, a large standard poodle to this facility after he was bitten by a large Italian Italian mastiff at the dog park in five places on his leg ankle and foot. Thankfully, they were able to put him under surgery immediately and repair his damaged leg so he still runs like a puppy! In addition, I have brought him here because he has ingested rat, poison, (out near the dumpster, near my apartment building) and and on a separate occasion, when he ate tinfoil that wraps Irish butter and the butter. In both cases, he was free of hurt, but I would only know if I had not brought him here late in the evening when other vets are closed. read more

The open concept was interesting, and it was great that I could stay with my pup even during her surgery. They even let me take photos, which is unusual for a medical professional to allow pictures for liability reasons. The wait was a little longer than I expected, given the level of their staffing, but there were other dogs that were higher on the triage system. They were accommodating, giving me a room with a comfortable couch and privacy. They also allowed me to order some food on their account. Granted it was in the bill but not itemized, just part of their service to make the owner feel comfortable in a challenging situation. Good job. I normally don't recommend my favorites as I don't want to share a good thing that will decrease their demand, but in this case, I hope not to be back, but I do recommend them highly. read more

I wish I could give this clinic six stars. I brought my senior dog in on Saturday evening in physical distress and they took him in immediately. Within minutes, they were stabilizing his vital signs, running bloodwork and conducting an ultrasound, all while I was there holding his paw. Once we had enough information, they gave us options to consider. Unfortunately, the prognosis for our pup wasn't good and we made the difficult decision to let him cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Michael and all the staff were kind and sympathetic. They moved us to a private room and gave us ample time to say goodbye. They treated the entire event with deep respect and kindness. We are grateful to the team at Veterinary Emergency Group for their excellent medical work, their clear communication and their truly caring approach. They earned our complete trust over the course of the evening, and it's because of this that I feel we did the right thing for our pup. read more

I wrote a review for this place a few months back when they took care of my roommate's dog. Unfortunately I had to come back for my own dog. Her regular vet said she needed to be on an IV for 2 days but they don't open 24/7, so I brought her here since I knew they take really good care of their patients and are opened 24/7. Someone talked to us immediately and her care started after we got payment approved. Everyone was super nice and attentive. I ended up staying the night at the hospital on 10/15/25 so they gave us a room and got a bed ready for us. There was a gift basket with snacks and toiletries. A few hours after she was admitted, she got an ultrasound as her kidney values were unusually high. Her results came back around 10am on 10/16/25. Unfortunately my poor girl had chronic kidney disease. Our primary doctor at VEG, Dr. Thomsen broke the news very sympathetically and compassionately. After I got delivered the news, we stayed at the hospital for several hours as I began thinking about putting her down. Never once did anyone make me feel like I should leave the hospital nor did they say anything rude. Everyone was so nice and compassionate; especially after the big news was broken. They let Karma stay by my side if they didn't need to take her for periodic check ups. Her normal vet ended up calling me around 8pm on 10/16/25 to tell me more test results so I asked for her opinion if I should put Karma down as I hadn't talked to Dr. Thomsen yet. Our normal vet immediately said that Karma could live for months, but would need extra measures to stay alive and did not offer much sympathy. On the flip side, I asked the night doctor (I didn't catch her name) around 9pm about putting Karma down. Once I asked the question she immediately zoned in on me with so much compassion in her eyes. It's a bit fuzzy exactly what I said but I mentioned her diagnosis with chronic kidney disease and that I wanted to put her down but what would that mean money wise. She let my friend and I talk while she got the budget report ready. I made up my mind that I didn't want Karma to suffer from this disease anymore as she already hadn't been eating at her normal rate for 3-4 weeks at that point. I let the Dr know my decision and she never once shamed me or questioned my decision. I got everything sorted out financially with the front care team. My roommate joined us in saying goodbye to Karma. Just like with Siyah, they never rushed us and let us take as much time as we needed to say goodbye to her. After the Dr administered the last drugs needed to euthanize her and listened to her heart to make sure she passed, she did a small speech that meant so so so much to me. She reassured me that I made the right decision by karma. She thanked me for putting karma first and letting her pass with dignity. She was phenomenal. Our regular vet made me question everything but this Dr made sure I knew that I was right in my decision to put Karma first. I truly cannot thank all of the doctors and care teams enough that took care of my Karma. I never thought I'd be putting her down this soon after Siyah but I couldn't have let her pass at a better facility. They are truly the best! Brought my dog, Sadie, in Christmas Day with a serious wound on her neck. Sadie has EXTREME anxiety when it comes to the vet. They got us in right away and took every step to make her and us comfortable. She had surgery and was home within a couple of hours. We were given the option of staying right there with her during ALL procedures, including the surgery. I was blown away by this! I recently had to go through the heartbreak of putting down my 15 year old bestfriend and found this emergency vet clinic through yelp. I couldn't be more grateful to have gone here because I can't imagine not having the support, care and compassion that I was given at this facility. My pet was seen immediately and I felt like the team treated my dog as if he was their own. They took all the measures that they possibly could to ensure that he was comfortable. In a time of confusion, I was glad to be assisted by Addie. She was very warm and comforting and I truly believe she was called to do this job. Even in the weeks following-- having to come and pick up my package; Addie was very thoughtful in the way she conveyed her messages when communicating with me (through voicemails) and I can't express how much I appreciated that. We went in late one evening with our cat who was distressed - the staff is amazing. Kind, caring, invested and knowledgeable. They got us right in and kept us fully involved. This is how all vets should be. The vet herself felt very accessible and available to us for questions at all times. We were able to stay right with our cat and the staff encouraged us to be near and involved. They explained everything that was happening and made a stressful situation less stressful. We had to order prescription food that same morning and the office confirmed the order quickly after we placed it. I feel like they truly care about your pet, and they go above and beyond to make you comfortable and to alleviate as much stress as possible on your family while going through what would otherwise be very stressful. They sent us home well prepared to deal with the issue, with tons of information, the food she needed and a toy as well. By the next day she was back to normal and happy. We loved our experience here and cannot say enough about them. Wonderful all around. I cant recommend them enough. Prices were competitive for an ER Vet. It's never good when you need to go to an Emergency Veterinary Hospital, but my experience at VEG tonight was worthy of a 5 Star review. TLDR: New puppy is retching, gagging, stomach getting huge, like she's pregnant. Worried it's Gastric Torsion or Bloat, so I rush her to VEG. Everyone working there was awesome, puppy turned out to be fine. Happy ending. The facility is clean, open and full of employees who seem genuinely eager to help you. They were polite and made you feel like the only person in the room, even though the office was busy. I was greeted and puppy was triaged without delay and had one of the most wonderful vets I've ever met examined the pup. Dr Michael was fantastic and thorough. He explained what he was looking for, what he saw and gave me reasonable options on how to move forward. He seemed to love playing with the pup and gave me all the time and attention I needed to feel better about the situation. If I ever need emergency care for my dogs going forward, VEG has definitely earned my business. So nice to find a vet with skilled, compassionate people who seem to love what they do and provide great customer service as well. I highly recommend this clinic. read more
