The doctors and the staff are incredible and may have saved my fur baby. After trying to get someone to help me for 5 1/2 hours and a terrible experience at another emergency vet (Blue Pearl in Kirkland), I called VEG in Redmond and told them what was happening. With no hesitation, they told me to go straight there and they would see us immediately. The business design for the hospital is open concept so you can see exactly what they are doing the entire time. They allowed me to stay with my baby the whole time and even had private rooms to stay together during treatment. From the moment we got there, until the moment we left, the service was prompt and efficient. They were professional, so so kind, and actually listened to our concerns. They appreciate the input of pet parents and said that pet parents are an integral part of the process because they know their pets best. I will definitely be making this clinic my go to from now on. I was very impressed with the care my cat received at VEG Redmond. They were super busy, but they still treated my cat and me with respect and kindness throughout the visit. I was able to stay in a comfortable private room with my cat for the whole visit, and everything they did was explained thoroughly. I have to share about the amazing experience I had at VEG-Redmond. I have had to take animals to the ER before, but never have I met a more open, amazing and friendly staff. There you get to stay with your pet the whole time. If X-rays are needed, there's a window where you can watch. They were short staffed for nurses that day, but made sure everyone was taken care of. At no point did I feel like they were rushed or breaking from stress. While we were there a man brought a dog who had collapsed while he was walking it. They rushed him in, did CPR and tried to get its heart started. They eventually had to call it. Through that they worked as a team, were compassionate with the animal's companion, and maintained order. The staff was shaken, as well as the companion. Care was taken for both. I will always feel comfortable taking one of my animals to VEG-Redmond. They are now my animal ER of choice. read more

I had to bring my dog in for an emergency bladder stone/urinary blockage and all of the staff were so calm, helpful, and understanding. I cannot recommend this wonderful vet staff enough. We ended up at VEG when our elderly cat fell very ill, and we felt so supported throughout every step of her care. She stayed overnight and we were able to visit her whenever, and be present for/watch minor procedures and imaging when they happened. It felt like every member of the staff was informed, kind, and eager to help us and our pet feel comfortable. In the days since our cat's hospitalisation, the VEG team has followed up and shown genuine care and concern for our sweet baby. Dr. Michael was amazing. He took so much time with us, ran tests, and kindly explained our options. Our 14 year-old dog was having heart failure so we decided to put him out of his misery. So grateful this ER came up on my Google maps and understand why they are highly rated. Our little diabetic blind dog had some major issues on Sunday that we felt could not wait for our regular vet to open the next day. We called to see if we should bring him in and the front desk person listened to my concerns and had a doctor come to the phone. With the underlying issues our pup has she thought it would be a good idea to get him seen. They sent a link over to start the check in process and we gave him a trazadone to kick in by the time we arrived (he's also a very reactive dog on top of everything else). When we arrived they already had us associated with a doctor. Sat down and the whole process happened where we sat in the lobby. No rooms to get shut into which I appreciated as that makes our boy nervous as well. They sent an estimate to my phone to look over and approve and things got started once that was approved after the initial vitals were taken. We spent about 3 hours total and the care received was so great. My pup didn't even bark or growl at them as I feel he knew they were doing what they could to make him feel better. We were sent on our way after he received a laundry list of treatments with some meds and what to look out for. It's a few days later and he's coming around and again so thankful for the professionalism and the care of everyone. If we are ever in this situation again I will not hesitate to go here again read more

I took my mother in laws 20 year old cat in to be euthanized as he was in pain from arthritis and could barely walk and my mother in law could no longer care for him. When I got to the vet the veterinarian told me that they could put him on thyroid meds and pain meds. I said I didn't want to do that and she refused to euthanize him. Telling me I need to rehome him. So I left to go to the humane society and when I arrived, I took the cat carrier out and the Kitty was dead. He died alone in a cage of what I can only assume was a heart attack when he could have been humanly put down. I will never go to this vet again. read more

My husband took our elderly Chihuahua to this clinic when he was having breathing difficulties. He had a heart murmur and was in congestive heart failure. My husband was allowed to stay with him the entire time. After a thorough exam, they went over possible treatments options which, of course with any medical situation, are very expensive. It would be just a temporary fix. The outlook wasn't good. Because of his advanced age and deteriorating health, we decided on euthanasia. They were so kind and comforting to both my dog and husband. They let him have all the time he needed. The cremation company they use sent us such a beautiful box with a card and the VEG office also sent us a paw print in a lovely frame along with a loving card. They help to ease a sad situation. read more

The Redmond veterinary hospital of VEG is absolutely the most caring and professional veterinary clinic I have ever been in. My 14 year old American Shorthair cat suddenly lost control.of her hind legs. After a great number of phone calls, I found VEG in Redmond. I was able to register on line so that the care began the moment we arrived. The entire staff from the office staff, the nurses, techs and doctor were fabulous. The very gently cared for my kitty and me as well. Of course,you may stay with her, would you like a cup of tea, a chair? Unfortunately, the blood clot she had developed along with an incipient heart problem made saving her almost impossible and I elected to put her to rest rather than suffer continued pain. Even then they were totally sensitive to both of our needs. I can't say enough good things about them. I just wish they would open a routine care clinic. read more

I've have had pets for about 70 years and have used many vets during that time. Veterinary Emergency Group is by far the best and most outstanding one I've ever been to. From the moment you walked through the door until you walk out you and your best friend are in caring and loving hands. The entire staff are compassionate empathetic and very professional. Dr Melanie Bowden truly loves her profession because it shows in her interaction with her clients both human and animal. Her knowledge and professionalism make her an extraordinary vet. Very few if any vet hospitals will let you spend the night with your pet, but VEG does and they will even let you stay in your best friend's cage if you want to. To sum it up. VEG IS THE BEST VETERINARY HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER USED. A five star review is far too low for the professional, friendly and empathetic service they cheerfully provide. read more

I am so impressed with this service. My dog injured herself on Easter Sunday and I was sure no one would be able to see her. I have had issues with all the "so called emergency vets" in the area and they all are too busy to see your pet. Imagine my surprise when they said "Sure bring her in." The staff was wonderful. They were so pleasant and also so professional. (They even brought me coffee while I waited) and I didn't wait long. My dog and I were put in a private room to lessen the stress. Dr. Holmes was very personable and did a thorough exam (without adding any extra unnecessary tests.) I can't say enough about how great they were. Dr. Holmes sent a detailed report to my vet and sent me home with a care plan. Thank you VEG. I am telling all my friends with pets about how wonderful you are. read more

Our precious goldendoodle grew a massive tumor is just one week (she had been fighting mast cell cancer for a year). It was so sudden and we had to have emergency euthanasia.  It was an incredibly difficult time and we were not ready to say goodbye. But the staff at VEG was so incredibly caring. From the moment we got there, they already had the room ready and took us right back, we didn't have to wait in a waiting room. It was warm and had a nice lamp instead of bright office lights which made it comfortable for all of us. They had water and tissues and gave us plenty of time. They let us make all the decisions and did a good job comforting us the best they could. They understood how hard it was and were so intuitive of how they supported us through it. We would recommend them to anyone for ANY care needed for their beloved pets. They also sent us a beautiful card with little personalized messages from each of their staff, not just the ones who were with us that night. They were very caring and yet professional and provided us with everything we needed to make some tough decisions.
