I need to praise Dr Lori Kriedburg of Metrowest Mobile Vets. In a word, she is AWESOME…read more I found her when a local animal hospital suggested that I take my business - and my cat, whom they INSISTED on sedating every time they would see him - elsewhere. Shadowcat simply hated vets' offices. Well, they suggested Dr Lori, which was the BEST thing they ever did for my cat! Dr Lori makes house calls! She comes to visit your pet in the safety of your own home, so if your critter doesn't travel well or hates the vet's office, this is ideal. She's very caring and you can see this in her manner. She talks to the animal and tries to make sure it's comfortable with her while she's examining it, and you can tell from her manner she truly loves the animals she treats. The most amazing thing about her is how she says goodbye - if she's had to give the animal a shot, or draw blood, the critter will usually go and hide after she's done. Well, after she does up her bill and just before she leaves, she asks to go see your pet so that the last memory the pet has of her is her saying goodbye and petting him (or her) and NOT of getting a shot. And she TALKS to the critter! Not like some vets where the animal is just a piece of meat the vet is examining. Nope, she cares for your pet like it was her own. And - this is a hard part to write - if your pet is getting old and sick, she's the first to work with you to try and heal the pet (cause let's face it, you need to give the home care after she leaves)... and if it's just time for your pet to go find his Door Into Summer, she's very compassionate about it. She understands that we love our pets and she respects that. She helped my Shadowcat find his Door Into Summer this week after helping us keep Shadow alive until he was almost 17... and though I don't have a cat now, I will again... and Dr. Lori will be the one I trust it's health to. I'd give her 10 stars if I could. She's just the best.

They were too traumatized to ever get into the carrier, much less visit the vet, so having her come to the house was pretty much the only way to get even routine vaccinations and examinations for them. Over the years they have become much more socialized, and are completely comfortable with her. She's very knowledgeable, has a wonderful manner with the animals, and with their humans as well. I can't recommend her highly enough.

It will not be easy to describe how much Dr K and her practice and efforts above and beyond her…read moreprofessional obligations have meant to the lives, health and well-being if my animals and myself. But I would do her a great disservice if I did not at least try to put it out there. She has been my vet for nearly 25 years, way before her home practice, since her first placement out of Tufts Veterinary College (one of the best in the country - it's graduates the top in their field). It was her first job when I brought one if my cats to my regular vet in Newton. From our first appointment together I have only had another vet when she briefly moved out of state and before I found her again as she was starting up her current home practice. I was not happy in the interim! I have lived with cats since I was 10 years old. That meant I had also lived with vets and their varying degrees of competence in dealing with both animals and humans and in the seemingly inexplicable differences in the quality of their training. It was immediately obvious to me that Dr K was very different. First she connected with the animal. She looked and listened. She talked to my cat, she touched him and examined him while making him comfortable. Georgie was her first concern. Clearly. Then she listened to me. And I mean really listened. Now I'm a talker and an observer of minutiae when it comes to my animals. She didn't interrupt or assume that she knew what I meant or wanted to say. She allowed me to say it in my own way. And then she asked more questions. And went back to my cat. We kept talking. She kept both examining and soothing him. It was an extraordinary session. Not only did she take her time with us (and in every subsequent session over the years - she has sat on the floor of exam rooms with me to talk while a cat wandered around;,she has sat with me in visiting hours with a post surgical cat day after day after day;,she has come into the back seat of my car in the parking lot of her practice on a cold February day to put my cat down in my lap so it didn't have to happen in a sterile exam room. For her to move to her own home practice was the next logical step and perfect both for her and her clients - both 2 and 4 legged. Her clients were always the animal AND the owner. That's just who she is. She understands that her good medical and clinical practices are not enough on their own. It's the relationship between owner and animal that often plays the larger part in the animal's health picture. Being in the home ensures that she is able to treat the whole animal. And yes the client too, she understands that that's what's required to some extent. She never oversteps her bounds but for the animals' sake will offer the best suggestions to the owners in terms of appropriate action and behavior on the part of the humans to best help their animal. She also gets to help animals and people who, whether due to medical or psychological reasons cannot easily get to a brick and mortar vet. One of my cats had diabetes. Then cancer. Then kidney failure. She lived close to 5 years with Dr Ks care and help and never had to ride in a car again which she was terrified of. Dr K supported me around the clock in caring for Sheba. I never felt that we were alone or didn't know exactly what to do or couldn't reach her quickly. Sheba died at home with dignity and the best care. She got to know that a visit from Dr K was a special thing, just for her; that she felt better afterwards (usually insulin dosage adjustments), she stopped hiding and would simply jump off the chaise when Dr K finished to have a wash in the same room. It was a special time. Dr K is persistent too Sheba's mate now 17 has had an ongoing ENT infection for over 7 years . Another vet would've given up. But because both Dr K and Niles have hung in and listened and continued to fight we are finally getting somewhere. What she cannot do clinically she has excellent connections to refer you to. She works with dogs as well as cats and I assume other small animals and birds. She understands both animals and people. She is careful and patient. She is kind and I would embarrass her if I told you how many ways she has gone out of her way to help ME now that I have my own mobility issues and a home vet us not a luxury but a necessity. She was the best vet I'd ever had before she was a home vet. She keeps current now, she is connected to cutting edge emergency vets for referrals and surgery and accidents and every vet in the area, as soon as I mention that she is my home vet, knows her and is impressed by her, by her thoroughness, her work ethic, her attention to detail, her ability to work with difficult animals because she understands that they are in pain and to support the owners in anyway she can. If she is taking on new clients, take HER on. She is a warm, kind and extraordinarily person.

We have two young rescue dogs, one of which was horribly abused and is thus very shy and afraid of people and takes a long time to warm up to anyone. We wanted to schedule several visits over the course of Feb-May to be sure our dogs would be comfortable with their caretaker while we were away. We met with the owner, and then with a caretaker, which seemed to go well. Then when we tried to schedule another visit, we got put off and put off multiple times over weeks with various excuses ranging from weather to injury and no callbacks, we always had to initiate communication. After several weeks of this treatment, we were informed by the owner that our dogs were too high maintenance and that Fresh Trails was not willing to work with us. Let me say, for the record, that I totally understand rescue dogs being difficult to work with, especially one who was as abused as our poor girl was. I do not fault Fresh Trails at all for declining to work with a dog with issues of that nature. Where I do find fault is with the incredibly unprofessional way we were treated, especially as Fresh Trails was well aware of our time constraints and our desire to give our girls plenty of time to get used to their caretaker. It should not have taken 2 months to come to the decision that our girls were too challenging, especially when several weeks had elapsed since the last visit.

I had some minor concerns about my previous vet, name and details withheld. That, and how close FF is, made me give them a try. That was several years ago, and I'm so glad I did! One of my cats needs to be shaved every few months - she gets serious clumps. She used to get put under anesthesia to have this done. Dr. Baigelman said he thought he could do it without putting her under. This cat is rather opinionated, so I was skeptical, but sure enough! The first time was the only time he took her in the back room. He does it right in front of me. It's incredible! And as others have said, the staff are fantastic also, every one of them. They all care. I haven't had any experience with Dr. Bleck, but other people I know say he's just as good with people and animals as Dr. Baigelman is. I know all of this should be a given at a vet's office, but it isn't. PS - the place is always sparkling clean. Again, that shouldn't be noteworthy. Almost every vet's office I've been to has been sparkling clean. Only almost all of them.
