Bevs to quench our thirst! (Miller Lite and High Noon-Pineapple)

Mayfair used to be part of my stomping grounds, as I attended the local schools, since returning as a responsible adult they have added a rooftop bar that adds AMAZING VIEWS to your visit. Views of what you might ask, the bar is conveniently located next to the public access park at Lake Lansing and offers views of the Lake and surrounding area. The parking can be a bit of a struggle given there are two bars/restaurants and a liquor store sharing the same parking lots. However, there is a gated lot that holds reserved parking for the Mayfair. The food is your traditional bar fair, nothing to write home about but nothing to really complain about either. The drink selection is plentiful and like with most bars, you can find a DJ, trivia, pool, darts, or shuffleboard happening on any given night. The team members are always polite and seemingly welcoming but at times the patron demographic may not match that same energy. The Mayfair is a dependable place to hang with locals, take in some fried foods and cold drinks, and stay close to MSU country for a game day!

We've been going to the Blue Gill next door for some time and tonight they had their outdoor seating closed... and we like to stay outdoors when we can (COVID). So we decided to go here since they had their rooftop open and it was a really nice night especially in the sun. Food was very good, service was great and our waiter was tentative. We will definitely be back as they said they plan to have the rooftop open for at least another month. Also there is a lot of food options so I look forward to trying something new next time!!

My son wanted to have dinner here after his graduation as this one of his favorite places to eat…read more The place was lively with fresh graduates and family members celebrating! My wife and I ordered the Detroit style pizza (Green Pepper and Onions), cheese curds, fried pickles and french fries to share with the table. The server was very attentive and came back multiple times to check on us and refill our water. As for the the food - the pizza was delicious and the crust was fluffy on the inside and has a crisp on the outside. The edges were nicely cooked with the carmilized cheese. The cheese topping still has some nice pull. The cheese curds were hot and fresh. The pickles were crispy and seasoned just right as were the french fries. The fries had a light breading on it. What a great night with family and friends and appreciated everyone coming. Service was great and food was delicious. When we come back, we will visit here again!

The food and atmosphere were excellent, but I do have one request: please bring back the breaded wings! They were one of my favorite menu items and honestly a big reason I chose to come here! Thanks for a great night, and a special shout-out to Sydney for making it memorable!

I happened to go to Blue Gill Grill on 4th of July. Honestly, I wasn't feeling the holiday this…read moreyear, unfortunately, and so the fact that you could barely tell it was the 4th was a big plus for me. It's a laid back beach vibe no matter what, I suppose! I was here for it and that little peekaboo view of the lake. I ordered the blue gill because why not? I've never had the fish but it won't be the last time. The fish was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The corn was spicy but delicious too. I don't even like hush puppies and these might make me a convert. But the Caesar salad. Child please. You know when you can tell they used anchovies in the dressing? (My true test of a Caesar salad.) Oh yeah. It has that salty brininess that anchovies bring to the table and it was divine. The drink was a fun nod to a holiday weekend. Service was fantastic. No fuss but very attentive and friendly. I live in Cincinnati but visit the area often and I will definitely be back. Maybe I'll even update my photos if I can manage to let the phone eat first.

Many specials available across multiple menu categories. Service was quick and attentive. Show stopper of the venue is the rooftop bar with lake views. Service, selection, seating…read more.. Great friendly staff Lots of great food choices Outdoor seating on this beautiful day I had the Roasted Beet salad but was able to sample from others fries and green olive burger and pretzel The fries are real good (ketchup is an in-house creation). Pretzel was quite tasty. Burger was cooked amazing. The beet salad was fantastic.

This one is hard to review…read more TLDR; Inconsistent food and service, Long wait times for a table, big parking lot no parking spot, MAGA in 2026 Food: it depends on who is in the kitchen. *sometimes my gluten free burger comes out GOD TIER. sometimes meh. * sometimes the fries are good, sometimes too salty, sometimes too old and dry. * their gluten free calamari is delicious and usually fried very well. *their salads are huge and very high quality, not overdressed. * i tried their tacos once and remember i was very disappointed Drinks: Generally decent cocktails, they can make you what you want within reason Location: Huge parking lot but can never find parking? There is always a wait for tables and you'll see people waiting right by the front door. Lots of tvs to watch sports. There is a quieter back room and I think they might have some games back there Events: During summer evenings they have live music for free out back where there is cornhole, a second bar, and some seating. Ambiance: Families come here, people come here for first dates, groups of friends too. It's not upscale but there is something about the space that triggers my social anxiety. It kind of feels like a stage. Price: I guess they charge premium for the vibes because it is very overpriced. Service: Highly variable. sometimes you get someone nice, sometimes you get someone mean, sometimes you just get someone who is incompetent. mostly new faces every time i go in. Politics: I used to go here more often before I found out they're MAGA. and.. still MAGA in 2026. do with that information what you will. locally they are known for this. personally, there are many other options (right down the street) i can choose from where i feel good about spending money there. especially when their menu is overpriced.
