This man CARED about his patients!! If u had a question he would encourage u to call. He was there for his patients. He took the TIME he needed to make everyone feel COMFORTABLE. Comfortability is very big factor when it comes to dentistry. A lot of people have fears & r uncomfortable even walking in the door. So, making your patients feel comfortable is extremely important in this line of work. And Dr. Houy made u as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately Dr. Houy retired. So, I had to go w/ the other dentist. Dr. Gaga Sandu. At first I didn't get any bad vibes. Was he fast & tried to rush u out...YES! But, that was it (atp). Eventually, I had to get major dental surgery! Something that not only terrified me. But, I didn't know much about after care. I was supposed to get the surgery @ AGH & then return to Dr. Gaga Sandu after. Not only did Dr. Sandu cancel appointments w/o notifying me b4 showing up (prior to surgery). He also blatantly LIED TO ME, GASLIT me into thinking the hospitals ER offered something they didn't, & then when MISCOMMUNICATION was happening he refused to take ANY ACCOUNTABILITY & made me out to be some kinda incompetent fool!!!! I was able to get an Emergency appointment (no thanks to Dr. Sandu) & the HOSPITAL whom was ONLY SUPPOSED TO EXTRACT gave me an aftercare paper & told me to call my dentist for a follow up. Which...MADE SENSE! He is in fact my normal dentist that LITERALLY made a "plan" as far as my teeth & what needs done. So, almost a wk later they squeeze me in between appointments. This appointment was an "adjustment" & to make sure there was no infection. Which also....made sense considering it was a MAJOR DENTAL SURGERY & I needed to know the next step! I go in for my appointment & this "dentist" DR. Gaga SANDU says to me, "y r u here". I repeat what the appointment is for. ATP he is looking at me confused. Did NOTHING, told me NOTHING except "this was the hospitals responsibility but sometimes they're lazy & tell u go to the desntist". Like excuse me sir...U R THE DENTIST & this IS INFACT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR AFTERCARE! Get this, I even had to ASK him how I'm even healing! lol!!!!! THIS GUY...DR. GAGA SANDU IS A JOKE!!!! And doesn't have a CARE in the world about his PATIENTS! He sees a money sign $$$ walk in the door instead of a person. He doesn't know it yet but, he has not only lost me as a patient but, MY ENTIRE FAMILY! Which is not 1 but, 6 patients! I have plastered ALL over every social media site how horrible of a dentist he is. And will continue to preach to people NOT TO GO TO THIS GUY!!! Dr. Butler whom works for this dentistry on the other hand is a VERY NICE, POLITE woman who DOES seem to care for the patient themselves as opposed to if they have "good insurance" or how much is in their bank accounts. I'm now in need of two root canals and have been in pain for over a week. One of the root canals is on a tooth he just refilled less than 2 months ago. After speaking with 2 providers here to get multiple plans of attack, the consensus between the two was the same. They both should have been caught previously. I think he's a very nice person, his staff is friendly and I do like the hygienist. I just can no longer recommend him for routine dental care.

This practice has been my regular dentist ever since. Dr. Petti himself is so friendly, so nice. Same with the office staff. Apparently the dentist I had been going to before Dr. Petti wasn't so great and I needed to have a deep cleaning procedure done on my teeth. I have never in my life been so thoroughly examined at a dentist's office. I'm bummed that the previous dental hygienist Rose left the practice because she was awesome and so incredibly knowledgeable but the new girl seems really good too.

He was extremely kind and friendly. He asked me a few questions about my past dental history and then took x-rays. After the x-rays he cleaned my teeth and polished them. He was very kind and informative, continually complimenting me on my dental hygiene routine and educating me about how to avoid tartar buildup. I left with a bag full of free samples and a big (freshly polished!) smile on my face! I definitely recommend this dentist!

So I found this one in Monroeville just from a Google search and looking over their website. I made an appointment and they told me the first visit will be longer than usual. They took a lot of x-rays and examined my mouth at first. I came back a few weeks later for them to clean my teeth. I did have one cavity so it took another visit to get that filled. I was there a lot the first month but after that I have just been coming here every 6 months with no problems with my teeth at all. They are very nice and they always ask about my wife and kids. We get into some good conversations about different things. Dr. Kuntz is very professional, personable, and a very good dentist. My past visit they found that I had an old filling that broke. Instead of making an appointment for another day she asked if I would like them to fix it right away. So I had them fix it right away and that was very convenient for me. I didn't want to have to come back in another week or two. They also do a good job emailing and texting you to remind you on your upcoming appointments. I've had to switch appointment a few times and it was an easy switch. If you are looking for a new dentist in the Monroeville area give them a call.

After almost 4 years of pure dental hell-so many oral surgeries, I've lost count. Over and over…read moredental implants and bone grafts that kept failing and getting infected. Tens of thousands of dollars spent. So much pain that I've cried in despair thinking it would never get better. The emotional and physical trauma of it all. I had no choice because over a lifetime of grinding my teeth so that all the nerves were painfully exposed (I couldn't even drink a sip of cold water without near screaming pain), I finally as of today have a successful full mouth of permanent dental implants that look beautiful. Tonight, for the first time in about 30 years, I ate a meal like a normal person WITHOUT pain! If you're ever considering dental implants, know that they aren't as simple as the marketing suggests. There can be complications though not always. Be prepared for what might not be so simple. All in all, despite the trauma, expense, and pain, I'm happy with the ultimate outcome. Went to the monroeville location using a groupon for the free tooth whitening. The first visit,…read morethey said i had cavities that needed filled...ok...so I got them filled the same day....and they weren't filled smoothly!! I had to come back to get the filling smoothed out because they left a ridge and it was bothering my mouth!! they also said i needed MI paste (for $30 from them when online it's ~$15)....ok...so i got that as well not knowing it was something I could get outside of the office I had to come back in for deep cleaning. When i got there however and went through the process, the "deep cleaning" didn't seem like a deep cleaning at all. The initial cleaning the first day seemed more thorough and hurt longer. They did all four quadrants in one session, no novicaine (which if you've had a deep cleaning before...it HURTS.....I needed the nitrous oxide the last time I had one.....and it hurt for multiple weeks after as well when I went before). One of my friends that also has had deep cleanings also said that they're painful and hurt for days afterwards. This one instead didn't hurt except when i was poked a few times, and i was fine to eat/etc right afterwards. While getting the deep cleaning the hygenist (because I never saw the dentist except for the fillings when in the past I saw them for deep cleanings as well) said that my mouth was much better and that she thought the pockets (the reason for the deep cleaning) were probably false pockets, that my mouth was much better than the previous month, that I probably didn't need the deep cleaning and that no antibiotic would be needed...maybe if I came in next time I would need them. So I got a deep cleaning that I may not have needed, didn't feel like a deep cleaning, and set me back $900....in about an hour (they also usually take longer) Poor experiences multiple times... oh--and never met Carl.
