Is he still in business? I'm seeing the results of his shotty work as I have to get all of the thousands of dollars of work re done that dr. Berardinelli didn't do right not to mention he gets crowns from a dental lab that couldn't even make one out three correctly. From the minute I walked in, I was treated in a very friendly yet professional manner. I have always had trouble with ex-rays but, while Dr. Berardinelli has many years of experience, he has also kept very current with modern techniques and equipment. The panoramic ex-ray experience was almost too easy! With very friendly appoint reminders and amazing, on-time appointments, it was almost fun to go to the dentist. They are all very friendly and professional. He made a very large process smooth and easy and after close to 10 years of guarding my smile, I can now smile boldly and eat much more easily. I was a patient of Dr. Berardinelli's for 5 years before I moved out of state. At that time my wife and I had horrible experiences with dentist's in North Carolina. We called his office for a recommendation and he said he would look into it. He could have done the easy thing and said that he had no recomendation's given that we were 400 miles away, but he took the time to find us a new dentist through his contacts and associations and really helped us out. He really cares for his patients (even if at the time I wasn't one). We have since moved back to Pittsburgh, and I gladly drive across the city to be a patient of his again. His staff is as attentive, professional, and personable as he is. It's as good of an experience as one can have at a dentist's office ! read more

My experience being a patient of Dr. Berardinelli, as well as his staff, has been excellent each and every visit. He performed my first cleaning himself; says he prefers to do first cleanings himself to acquaint himself with the patient and their situation. What a surprise in an era in which time spent with the actual dentist as opposed to the hygienist is usually a fraction of the time. The first exam and cleaning were done on the same visit, something I expect as a patient to save time and money, but is becoming not so common these days. The exam was thorough and a plan was devised and discussed. Linda then drew up the financial plans for the planned visits and the totals, outlining what the insurance company would pay and what would be my outlay. They even had a financing plan outlined if needed. (All this was on the first visit, by the way.) There were no high-pressure tactics to sell me on the proposed procedures. I was in and out and scheduled my next appointment. I then stuck to the plan, getting fillings, crowns, and bonding. I only have whitening left which I look forward to. All said and done, Dr. Berardinelli knows what he is doing, is excellent at what he does, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have been to quite a few dentists over the years just because of moving a lot and mostly for the usual 6 months cleaning and exams. What I can attest to is that there is a lack of standards in the dental industry. I've been offered so many different procedures that other dentists didn't think I needed or the other way around -- dentists not mentioning needed services that others did. It is quite frustrating. I feel I've finally found one who offered what I truly needed and was someone who was knowledgeable enough to know the gamut of what there could be that I need or don't need and is able to fulfill those needs without referring me to someone else. In addition, the entire office -- receptionists to the hygienist -- are well-informed and skilled at what they do. I've always been in and out when they say I will be and I love that they offer late hours so I don't have to take off work to get there. read more

I have to recommend the best dentist I have ever in all my years And that's Dr. Berardinelli of Murrysville! He explains all his procedures, so there is no surprise. And he has the latest equipment. Ok I am done with this outfit. I decided to try this dentist out based on two things. The proximity to my work and the recommended reviews from other Yelpers. My first visit was somewhat uncomfortable. Doctor Nelson V Berardinelli insists on doing your first cleaning under the guise of getting to know you. Everything starts pleasant enough but as the exam and cleaning continued, I felt like I was in more of a high-pressure timeshare seminar than a dentist's chair. He was pointing out just about every tooth in my head and how it required some type of work, a lot of it cosmetic mind you. He was having his assistant take notes on all my flaws and was discussing aloud with her, not me, what he would be scheduling to do next and so on. I was beginning to get rather annoyed. Next, he starts the cleaning process. I have many teeth that are rather tight so I have to be careful flossing so that the floss does not come down too hard and cut my gums. He was not gentle or carful flossing and actually made me yelp out (pun intended) in some pain when they started to bleed. His reaction was "what don't you ever floss?" Mine, "Yes I flossed twice today already." His, "ha well you knew you were coming to the dentist." Clearly insinuating "you probably only do it when you go to the dentist." Nope and you seem like a d*ck. Moving on, exam and cleaning done. Now into the room with the billing specialist (if you could call her that). She starts throwing all the things the dentist suggested at me and asking to schedule the appointments. Let me preface this by saying my old dentist's office would know exactly what my out of pocket cost would be as soon as the dentist recommended a procedure. This outfit declared that they need to send this information off to insurance companies to find out what they cover, and then they will let you know the cost. How long is that? According to her 6 weeks. Um this still makes no sense to me. I did schedule one small thing that was supposed to be 100% covered. In addition, I scheduled my next cleaning and waited to hear about the other recommended procedure. This was in March 2017. I go to my second appointment, (roughly 3 weeks later) which was ok. Not overly comfortable but I liked the dentist's assistant. What I did not care for was the remarks they were making in front of me about a crying child in the other room. The words spoiled and that kid tells the parent what to do not the other way around were amongst some of the comments they exchanged. With no regard to me, they spoke as if I was not there. Unprofessional at the least, and uncompassionate at the most! Parents find a kid friendly office. This is not it. Two months later in May, I get a bill for $50.00. I was confused since she told me that there was no out of pocket for the last procedure. I call the office to find out and get Stacy the billing specialist. I begin to ask about the bill. I said you told me no out of pocket. She was looking it up and said with great attitude, "that's your deductible clearly you are responsible for that!" I was affronted and a little embarrassed. I guess I should have known that I had a deductible, but I did not feel like it warranted her sh*tty attitude. So, I switched gears and asked about the insurance information she was waiting on now 8 weeks later. She says in the same sh*tty tone they are still waiting and these things take time! I was done then. She asked if I needed anything else and I said no thank you and hung up. I figured I would just cancel my next cleaning later in the summer. Cleaning number two rolled around, now September 2017. I still never heard back from Stacy regarding out of pocket costs with a procedure and completely blew off even bothering to ask figuring I would be finding a new dentist. Unfortunately, I let too much time passed. I figured I would keep this last cleaning appointment and not make any more. My last appointment was fine. I liked the dental hygienist and had no problem there. The dentist gave me a check over, which I made clear to him I was not interested in hearing all of his suggestions again. He left the room saying see you in six months. After the cleaning, we go to the billing specialist with her attitude on fire. I told the hygienist no one ever called me about the procedure costs, and now it does not matter because I have new insurance. She brings this up to Stacy who plays dumb and says well we got it back in August but it doesn't matter anyway your insurance changed so we need to resubmit it so it will be another 6 weeks. I say you mean 6 months. Insert dirty look. At this point, I just want to get out of there and she said do you want to schedule your next cleaning? I said why don't I do that when you call me about that procedure when the insurance company gets back to you, and left. Needless to say, she won't be calling and I won't be returning. read more

Starting seeing Dr Berardinelli about 9 months ago based on personal recommendation from my fiancee and how nice his teeth looked. The look and health of my teeth since that time has been nothing but phenomenal. I had dated crowns showing silver, my gums were irritated, and my teeth were greatly discolored. By working with me Dr. Berardinelli transformed the whole look and health of my smile. He does this by using state of the art dental technology, having an incredible dentistry skill level and this unique artistic eye as to how your mouth should look and attention to details. Over the past year , I have had much work done in my mouth. Dr. Nelson has been very clear with his explanation of the procedures that would take place and there was no rush on his execution. During this time frame I had 7 crowns and bonding done. His office has state of the art equipment, clean, staff friendly and scheduling is done with the highest regard to the patients time available. I started with Nelson V Berardinelli, DMD, in 2017 and have had some fairly extensive work done. Everything has gone very well and the people are friendly and welcoming. They did go through the issues with me the first time I went, but I never felt pressured into anything. The Dr. tells it pretty much like it is, and seems to be pretty meticulous. The assistant is friendly and makes me feel very comfortable. Glad i found them and will continue to go regularly now that most of my major work has been done. read more

I don't write reviews unless absolutely necessary. If you want to pay more than necessary go here. This dentist is all about adding things onto your bill to make more from the insurance company. Dentists like this have gotten away with this for way too long and now the insurance companies are double checking their work and denying their false work. In turn, he then bills you for the work the insurance company denies that has already been done. After thinking it was the insurance company not wanting to pay for the work needed to be done, we appealed it and found out Dr. Berdinelli did work that was unnecessary to get more money. Now instead of doing the right thing, he is still trying to bill me for over $500 over a year later. And I already paid more than that for work that was done there. His staff is super nice, but he's not an honest dentist. Consider going elsewhere. read more

I have been going to Dr. Berardinelli for almost 7 years. I have never been more satisfied with a dentist, he is a true professional. He always takes the time to listen to any concerns that I have about the health of my teeth and is extremely knowledgeable and understanding. The staff members at the office are always so welcoming and I never have to wait long. My two young children usually come to my appointments with me and they are patients themselves! They have a "no cavity club" and the kids get their pictures on the wall if they are cavity free- it's great motivation for them to care about their dental hygiene. I always feel so confident when I leave the office after a cleaning. Dr. Berardinelli is truly the best! read more

I have been going to Dr. Berardinelli for over ten years. He is always professional and friendly whether it be for a routine cleaning or a filling. I've never felt pressured into getting any work done. His staff always makes sure to provide any financial information necessary when requested. Dr. Berardinelli is awesome... unfortunately that is where it ends. His front office staff are as unprofessional as they are incompetent. Most recently and the final straw was being charged missed appointment fees because they screwed up the day of my appointment (which I'm not sure how that happens when I always go on the same day) and after receiving the reminder call making us realize they had the wrong date it was then impossible to get in touch with them to discuss the error for 3 days and they don't allow their answering service to take cancellations. Then because it was the day of when my wife finally got through they informed us we were being charged. We should have walked out the first time we went there when they were bickering back and forth about how much they hated the place and obviously couldn't stand each other. Then there was the bill I got that was $350 dollars more than Tracy quoted my wife and when my wife called to ask about it she claimed her and I had a conversation that never took place and basically I was lying to my wife. I could go on about our numerous other encounters because every interaction was something. I finally found a great dentist in the area but unfortunately its just not worth the hassle you're forced to put up with in order to see him. Don't waste your time. read more

It is a shame. We all like Dr. Berardinelli and think he is very competent. But his billing staff runs the office with MONEY as the only thing that matters. Watch out for charges that you didn't authorize, and mistakes that will cost you more money. And if you question anything they bill, adios, and they could not care less. read more
