A gem hidden in the industrial area of Hayward! I bought Chuck roast beef. I told the guy I will make curry with it and he cut it into perfect small pieces and even removed a lot of the fat. I don't see how anyone could rate this place poorly. They excel in what they do, and quality is there to prove it. I came to Mayar's Meat Market back in August, and it was truly an experience. I drove about 30 minutes, and had to drive another hour to get to my destination. The worker there, Sergio was very professional and answered every question I had. He even added ice packs for the lengthy drive I had to do afterwards. The Ribeye, and Picanha that I bought from here was truly phenomenal. They have a lot of cuts of meat, and if you don't know what you want you can always call and ask. They'll make it happen. I would give this place a 6 star if I could. I recently came to Mayar's and am really grateful a nice Halal Meat Market is in the East Bay. I came in looking for Tri-tip and was not disappointed. I was immediately greeted by the kind staff who was able to help and answer my questions. I like to use tri-tip to add some protein to soups. When taking the piece home, it was incredibly clean as a nice halal meat should be. The tri-tip tasted really nice and high quality. The establishment itself was clean and surprisingly did not have a meat smell at all. Congrats to the new owners for bringing a much needed halal meat market to the Haystack I also picked up a pack of Mango Chile Chicken sausages that were too dam good. This is a very clean meat store with a lot of choices. Since it is located a little far off from the other residential areas, it doesn't have any crowds and also feels like it is in a nowhere place. Does have its private parking sports. The cool thing about this meat place is people are very very friendly. I was referred to you by another friend of mine and I came in during the holidays and met a very nice gentleman named Mohammed he was extremely helpful to me because I am not that smart on picking out meat I was looking for a prime rib for one of my holiday dinners and Mohammed was so gracious and so informative that I am not going to buy my meat anywhere else but at your market it was not only a beautiful piece of meat, but the meat melted in my mouth and my family's mouth I think it was one of the best prime ribs I have ever made and I must tell you I definitely know how to make prime rib. I may not know how to pick it out, but I definitely know how to cook it and this was one of the best ones that I've ever tasted. It's a great addition to the Hayward and the east bay community! I love this local all halal shop near our home. Whenever we need quality meat and hard to find cuts, this spot is IT. We came here when they first opened and the owner was super friendly, talking to us and asking us questions. They also had little bags of their family owned organic basmati rice to give out as samples. We loved the rice too! We came here a few times already and got different kind of meat from chicken to beef. We love how the cows were just slaughtered the day before, so I know they haven't been sitting around for days. It's also a clean spot and I can tell they upkeep their hygiene. The prices are reasonable for the quality you're getting. You can definitely taste the quality after cooking them. This is hands-down the best halal butcher I've found in the Bay Area! The customer service here is absolutely fantastic, friendly, helpful, and attentive. They have an impressive selection of meat, and after searching all over the Bay Area for beef short ribs, this place was the only one that had them in stock at a great price. This place is a joke! If I could give 0 stars I would. Bought $150 worth of meat on 4th of July and it was wrapped up in parchment paper. When I got home more than 90% fat no meat. When I called Sergio he admitted "I sold you fat, I'm sorry we were busy come by next time I will take care of you." It was very inconvenient and embarrassing my whole family laughed at me including my Parents. Bbq was ruined. I didn't make it a big deal because I understand mistakes happen in business especially when it's a busy day. Fast forward July 18 I called and he told me yes I remember you admitted again to selling me all fat, & said come in I will take care of you. When I got there he told me he can only give me $75 worth which is half. He said I should have kept the fat to bring it and show him as proof but never mentioned any of that either times we talked on the phone LOL. Wouldn't call the owner because apparently he was too busy. Reached out to the owner but no response. As a business owner I would have gave the full amount of store credit back. If not more BECAUSE OF ALL THE INCONVENIENCE. Seems like they really don't care about their customers. Yes their store looks pretty cute but you can get halal meat from other stores for a fraction of the price. I came to them because I thought I was going to be paying more for better quality but instead got served a bunch of fat that got tossed in the garbage. Incredibly happy to have a TRUE butcher shop nearby. The meats are the highest quality. I've never had better Lamb, Goat, and Beef cuts. As well as chicken and duck. Had some amazing beef filets the other night and could cut though them like butter. And if you don't see a cut your want, they will do it for you if they have the carcass in back (lamb or goat heads, or jowls anyone? - just ask them). Or call them ahead to find out. Usually we have to order directly from Creekstone farms when we cook steaks( 4-7 days delivery) but now that this halal butcher shop carries it makes it so much easier and accessible to get Creekstone high quality meat. The store is really presentable with a beautiful showcase of the meat. I went in and decided to try mayar skirt steak, Mayar ground beef (for burgers), and lastly the creekstone New York strip. After cooking tacos, burgers, and making steaks I was absolutely shocked at the quality and taste. This place easily carries the highly quality meat of any halal meat market I've ever been too. Dropped by yesterday 9/1/25. Store was very clean and didn't smell like old meat. There were a few customers and the staff seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. Also there was a man outside allowing people to sample bbq steak "for free". He patronizes and supports the store and wanted customers to know the quality of the meat they sell and that this company buys direct from farms right to table. Plus they have community events where they cater the meat--but the deals are unbeatable! When you get your meat look at the quality you receive, and now compare that with the big box stores (or even boutique butcher shops). Mayar's comes out on top everytime! The meat is 100% Halal, our home has been blessed and more peaceful since bringing their products into our home.
