It's not horrible but I'd rather go to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't charge for chips. Service ok food ok-just don't like paying extra for using credit card AND chips and salsa. You get 1st one complimentary - the bowl of salsa is 1/2 cup and chips basket is small-2 people serving. Will spend my $$ elsewhere. read more

Do NOT get served by Carol. She is younger woman with glasses. Last 3x we had the unfortunate experience of having her as a server. Wrong drink orders, wrong food orders, then her explanatory response that there is a shortage of avocados. But we did not get avocados on our order but we are still getting charged? She has no clue. I highly recommend moving to a different section of you can. Another instance is that she double charged is for food but will offset cost if we get another drink. WTF. Stay away. My wife and I love going to Maya. This visit was during COVID and the staff seem to be doing everything right. We had a short wait, but they gave us a pager and we waited outside with plenty of space among others waiting to be sat. The wait seemed less than projected. As always, the food was spot on. Last week while on a business trip I stopped here for dinner after looking at Yelp reviews. I ordered the shrimp fajitas. During ordering I asked if I could substitute out the refried beans for charra bean and was told they only served refried beans so that's what I ordered. I usually don't like refried beans because they usually don't taste good and they are bad for,you. About 10 minutes later my food arrived and I took a pic of it. Looked really good with a lot of shrimp and veggies. I ate the meal and was very satisfied. I decided to try the refried beans and wound eating all of them. They were some of the best I have ever had. Excellent beans. My service was good and I liked the decor of the restaurant. My only annoyance was a very loud table of 6 that were near me that had drank too much wine and beer. Oh well... I believe this is a very good restaurant! read more

My Wife turned me on to Maya. Service is always friendly and the food never disappoints. Whether you want a quick meal or spend some time with friends...the casual atmosphere is great. The bonus is the food isn't a sodium bomb like many other Mexican restaurants fall into. The flavors come from the ingredients used. Nothing special here at Maya. It's your standard Americanized TexMex Restaurant complete with fajitas and burritos/enchiladas smothered in cheese. It's ok, but it's nothing to write home about. I checked in with my girlfriend and we were seated immediately with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were either stale or cooked in too much oil. I couldn't determine which, but they weren't that tasty. The salsa was watery and didn't have much flavor. I suppose that worked in my favor, because I definitely was not tempted in any way to indulge in chips and salsa, thereby ruining my appetite for the actual meal which is often the case. I ordered the Burrito A La Diambla, a flour tortilla stuffed with chicken and chorizo in what was supposed to be a spicey hot sauce and topped off with, of course, melted cheese. The meal came with rice and beans; not refried beans though, more like pork and beans. The burrito was good, but not spicy in any way as indicated in the menu's description. The rice was better than most and the beans were different than what I expected, but good enough. I ate half of the burrito, half of the rice and most of the beans. It's a lot of food. The service was prompt and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. They also have a small bar in the back right corner that can maybe seat 10 patrons. All in all, Maya was "fine." I'd go again. Stopped by Maya recently with some of my cousins and their children after a recent funeral. We were bummed out, but hungry. While we were at the funeral wake, the kids were saying that they were hungry and wanted to go out to eat afterward. Then we talked about where we could go. I used yelp too lookup nearby Mexican restaurants and Maya came up, so off we went. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated, even though there were 13 of us! We were given nachos and salsa immediately. They disappeared pretty quickly and then we placed our orders. I ordered the pollo loco, which ended up being very tasty and it was made in the classic fashion that I've had elsewhere. It was very good and I'd order it again. Yummy! read more

Why have I lived 10 minutes from here and never tried it? I knew it was here, but never made a point to try it until last week. Big reason I haven't tried is our go to Mexican place has always came through (Fiesta Jalapeno) but they have been lacking lately, so grabbed the fam and came here. Started experience off great with a nice warm greeting and then a nice warm basket of chips. The salsa was incredible and we definitely took a refill when they offered. Kids each got beef soft tacos, wife got taco salad and I got Burrito California which was filled with tasty steak and melted cheese. Margaritas were a little weak, but one check mark on this otherwise perfect meal is ok. This place definitely shined and we will be back for sure. read more

This restaurant is among my favorites for Mexican food but for my son who was in the military, this was a one of the most haves when he was home. His favorite were the cozier chicken enchiladas, crispy on the outside and soft and most deliciousness on the inside. Topped with the most authentic and flavorful sauce. My go to order was the spinach, mushroom and jalapeño quesadilla. They grilled the vegetable filling always have the right amount of char to bring out the flavors. The only negative is that it is usually under seasoned but overall it's still good. The service is always outstanding. read more

Maya delivers a consistently good lunch experience. I've eaten here 6 or 8 times over the last few months when in town on business. Good chips, spicy salsa without being ridiculously hot, fast service, reasonable prices. I've gotten everything from burritos to tacos to enchiladas to chili rellenos and enjoyed every bite. I was surprised when I entered this place because it is beautiful inside. It is very spacious and has plenty of parking outside within the complex. We got seated real fast and got our drinks. Service : their service is awesome and the servers are ever ready to answer your queries and tweak the dish as per your taste. We asked for a high spice level and that is exactly what we got. Food: I always find Mexican dishes very delicious and this was no exception. The food was a tad too spicy for some of my friends but it was so tasty that we ended up eating everything. I have become a fan of Enchiladas and I usually end up ordering that wherever I go. Value for money: this place is reasonably priced. This is my new favorite for Mexican food within a 5 mile radius from my home. read more

We have been going to Maya since they opened their doors. And we totally love their people...the owner and all of the service staff. They are genuinely a lot of fun. Sadly, we believe the quality of their food has taken a downward turn. Rather than tasting freshly prepared, it tastes as if it is coming in frozen and then tossed in a microwave. And the salsa with which I used to use tortilla chips to totally spoil my appetite, now tastes as if it is coming in canned. I know of no other explanation for the strong metallic flavor. It still spoils my appetite, but not in a good way. Sadly I am back to Amy's while I search for a new favorite Mexican place. read more

I went to Maya back then (7 long years ago now) and had a HORRIBLE experience and vowed not to return. As you can see from my check-ins....I returned. Things have Changed, I think they've done some decorative updates which are nice. The bar is nice and they make a good Marg. I've had good service the few times I've been back and I plan on returning. Last visit, I enjoyed 2 large Margs and some Fajita Nachos. They were huge (enough for two) and delicious! Portions are typical Mexican-restaurant size portions (plenty for multiple meals) and if you're not expecting "real" Mexican food (which I'm not sure I'd even recognize anymore), you'll be happy. I never had a bad meal here. The servers are very friendly & attentive. You can expect to get your food fast despite it being packed. My favorite thing to order is the Mexican Tacos. It's a steak & sausage filled in a corn tortilla. It comes with cilantro & salsa verde (I believe). I also like to add sour cream & a little bit of salt & pepper to really amp up the flavor of the tacos. I also enjoy the enchiladas & nachos. Lastly, the chips & salsa is amazing!
