Accidentally came here when my cousin recommended I go to the Mexican bakery around the corner. There was pretty cool, modern, cutesy robot that delivered our chips and salsa. I'm from NY and live in CT, so I'm used to expensive drinks; I was surprised their chamoy margarita was only 12 bucks. It was nice and strong, rimmed with Tajín, and garnished with pineapple and lime. I'm a fan of pretty drinks and this marg did not disappoint, it was nice and strong. I ordered grilled chicken tacos with corn tortilla; It tasted authentic; with onions and cilantro served on the side. I requested salsa verde for to top it with. This place is super cool! There's a robot who brings you free chips & dip. Sometimes he'll bring your food orders as well. Depends on your waiter. Waiter was not attentive & kept having the buss boy do everything. I ordered shrimp tacos w/ cheese & avocado only on corn tortillas w/ sour cream on the side. It took a little minute for the food to come out. I didn't mind b/c that means it fresh! Also, I was munching on the chips & dip anyways.The free chips & dip were ok. I mean it's free. Chips were way too thick for my liking. They were hot & just came out the fryer though.Dip was delish. My food was so good. I loved it. We stopped in and picked up take-out tonight on our way to Lorain, OH. We actually came to that part of town to go to dinner at the restaurant next to it, but that place was unexpectedly closed on a Sunday evening. We'd driven all day from Chicago and were too tired to look up other restaurants, so we gave this place a shot. The staff was really nice. Our meal came out quickly, about 10 minutes. We ate in our hotel room, but they did have a few in-person diners. My vegetarian burrito was good, more like a fajita rolled into a burrito, and very large. Came with a generous side of beans, rice, chips, and salsa. My son enjoyed three streak tacos, rice, and beans. Good value, as the meals were quite big. read more

They have a robot that delivers your food!!! Well, in our case it just brought the chips and salsa but it was still a cool experience. We've been here several times since they've moved to this location and it's always a good experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and we've never been treated poorly or felt rushed no matter how busy they've been. First, I'll start by saying, ASK how big the large margaritas are before ordering! Lol. The Margarita tower is definitely for 3 or more people but was absolutely delicious (we got the rainbow). Also, they don't skimp on the alcohol so make sure you have a designated driver! I always get the same thing - southwest tacos. Because they're amazing. My husband usually gets different things and has never been disappointed. My son lives for the carne asada as it's tender and flavorful. Food comes out super fast and accurate. To-go orders are always on point as well and just as large as the in restaurant serving sizes. Price for what you're getting is fair and we always end up taking leftovers home with us. Friday date night with hubby . They've cleared out a few tables for covid so distancing is good. We split a half pitcher of raspberry margaritas. It was enough for one and a half each (relatively potent) servings each. Good service. Offered another basket of chips after we inhaled the first. Husband ordered Special Dinner. This being my first time at the restaurant, I am unhappy to say that my experience wasn't that good. The food was just okay. My burrito was very sloppy and easily fell apart, the meat was very chewy and could of been cooked longer. As for the service.. My server had a rather snarky, and unpleasant attitude and never came to check up on me and my table. When it came time to pay if you aren't paying with cash you are charged a $1 fee. There is nothing posted about this additional fee so I would recommend bringing cash. To end on a good note, the cat robot that brings you chips and salsa was very cute. Amazing food, amazing service and amazing people!! I am always very pleased with Don Tequila!

Don Tequila is a hometown favorite for sure. I grew up coming here often as a kid so I remember this place at its old location too. The food comes out piping hot and delicious, and the chips are always on point. I don't drink alcohol, but everyone I know who does says their drinks are some of the best in the city. The only thing I would seek to improve on is their take-out/online ordering service. It can take a really long for your food to come out - I remember once waiting nearly a half hour. Recently it's gotten better, but I still expect my food when it says it'll be done. read more

I went to Don Tequila's after work yesterday. The food was okay, nothing spectacular, but good enough. Yesterday my waiter was Fabian Quiles. While we were at the restaurant, I didn't have any concerns. However, when I got home I checked my Facebook and saw I had a friends request from him. My husband is recovering from surgery, while waiting for game stop to open he wanted to surprise me with a spontaneous lunch date. I know right! I love surprises! So we came her for lunch. Apple juice is good but they put ice in it.... I don't get it either. Portions are huge!!!! The girth of the burritos were so thick! Hubby had a Fajita Burrito , I had a Burrito Durango both were good, but Durango had a boot and a half of a kick. Each dish came with rice and refried beans (delicious). Our water (Ronald) was attentive, understanding to my Spanglish, didn't laugh at my middle eastern accent that popped in and out (especially during my Spanglish) it was nice. We had a GREAT family dinner here on Wednesday night. It was absolutely packed. Our wait was minimal, and they very quickly cleaned and got a table ready for us. The food was delicious, since it was packed it did take a little bit longer than usual to receive our food but it was worth the wait. Our waitress kept our drinks full and definitely kept the kiddos appetites satiated with those delicious chips and salsa! Our food came out super hot and freshly cooked. I've been here before and it was good, but nothing special. Last time it was pretty unenjoyable. Our party of 7 had to wait for 20-30 minutes for a table and we missed the drink special while waiting. The bar was full. Then they seated us at two tables, both in different directions and not connected; basically two tables next to each other. We weren't a small army. Service was very slow and neglectful. The atmosphere is more like a carnival than a restaurant with the multi tv screens, robot and noise of someone constantly vacuuming when we're trying to eat. Nothing like dusty food. The food was decent. I had the camarones diablos, nice heat. I did wonder if the shrimp was completely done by the texture. One of us had shrimp fajitas that the other person at the table and I thought looked awesome and are on our list for next time, but probably won't ever be a next time. The other person had tacos that he liked. Have no clue what the others in our party had because they were at another table. Getting out the door was a hassle and time consuming so we barely made it to our next planned stop before they closed. I love Don Tequila's so much! I've been coming here since they had their old location on Cooper Foster at the old Taco Bell. They have great service, delicious food and good happy hour prices. I love ordering their chicken fajitas. they are sooo good. This place is authentic and it's the real deal. Their salsa is very yummy and homemade. Every time I come here there is always a good crowd because the food is so good. I love their frozen margaritas and they're only $3.99 during happy hour which is 4-8pm. They are always consistent with a fun atmosphere. These people giving low stars don't know anything about authentic Mexican food. I lived in California for 7 years and Don Tequila's food is right there with the food in LA. You can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. I come to Don Tequilas often. They have a great choice of mexican food. I love the Tres Locos and the chips and queso are delicious. My kids love the kid friendly options and the chips, dips and queso. The prices are really good. Although they are very busy, they keep it clean and get you in really quick. Did the online order. Got there and the manager said our order came in late yet the margaritas we ordered were siting on the window sill in direct sunlight Humm lier I think so. When I got my food after waiting another 20 mins he handed me my drinks and I opened it and one was completely melted and the other witch was a strawberry margarita had a yellow spot in it. The Manger told me that's how they make them with the suryip. Then he took it and was trying to swirl it in tell me I don't know what im talking about lier again Yelp. I asked for new drinks he did take them to the bar that was in the back. After 5mins of waiting I walked to the bar and he was sitting around talking to his staff laughing. Oh ya forgot to say the place was dead only 2 tables had customers. And he tried to tell me he made new drinks yet they were sitting there in the same cups with the yellow stuff in the bottom. I am going to say how much I like this place! I like it a lot. I really like their nachos. Oh these aren't just regular nachos. These have charizo and shrimp on them. Yes, SHRIMP and a of the regular nacho fixings. They are so good. They are actually listed as a meal but we get them as an appetizer. They could to have more cheese but I'm ok with what they have. Fun fact for us, when we lived on the other side of town, we went to a different Mexican restaurant and loved our server. He was the best. One day he was gone. Guess what.... He works here now!!!! So excited. If you ever go here, ask for Javier. He's the best!!! So on to the rest of the food. I generally order the same thing at every Mexican restaurant. I get the fajita burrito or some variation of that or a taco salad with fajita veggies. It's good here and I highly recommend either one. I really recommend the nachos though. This place is a joke. So, went out here with my girlfriend since we wanted to try something new. When we get there it is nighttime and not too busy, so it shouldn't be too bad. Unfortunately the servers are too busy checking their phones and talking to help us out, making us stand there for about 10 minutes waiting to be seated. When we do get seated, we do get our drinks and free chips and salsa (which to be honest tastes a bit watered down, but its free to w/e). When we are ready to order we need to ask about some basic ingredients since my girl is allergic to some foods, which would make her ill. When asked, the waiter shrugs his shoulders and has us ordering russian roulette style for her. (Which it is cool if you don't know, but not even offering to ask the kitchen it kind of a jerk move since she did end up getting sick off of the food later on.) We get our food in a decent time, but the food was a bit bland, and the service after was a bit slow considering that the place was rather empty. ie. It took awhile to get refills and the bill after we were done. Though glancing over I could see the serving staff just gathering in the area by the door checking their phones and showing each other stuff off of their phones. Now it is time to pay and we go up and wait by the register. We ended up having to wait another 10 plus minutes because the girl by the door was too busy on her phone to ring us up and instead called over our server to do it. Would not go to this place again and whoever manages it, this place is a joke and needs some people who are willing to work or at least put some effort into making it a decent dining experience. read more
