Cilantro Taqueria is my new go-to spot whenever I'm craving quick Mexican food! They have so many options (including lengua!!!) and different ways you can eat! Bowls, tacos, torta and more! Horchatta is good and omg, you have to get their Choco flan. Delicious!! Service is so quick and everyone is super friendly! You can sit down to eat or take it to go!

Love the Spanish rice base. Gives it a great overall flavor. Prompt service. Healthy portions. Great kick to the chicken Tinga. Friendly staff. Authentic food, staff, & service. Casual atmosphere. I also noticed an outdoor patio. I have a nice leftover bowl for tomorrow's lunch!!

I eat here while I charge my tesla. I've never been disappointed. The salsa is great, but almost too spicy for my wife (medium hot). Salsa and guacamole portions are generous. One serving is enough for a family of four. Peace.

Listen guys, I love chipotle. I admit it. Been eating there since 2004 and I admit by own bias. I simply just like the taste of it, it's consistent taste has become a safe haven for my stomach and taste buds. That being said, Cilantro Taqueria is BETTER THAN CHIPOTLE. BY A LOT. Burritos honestly blow chipotles away. But they also have corn tortillas if you'd like some authentic Birria tacos. The location in Van Aken is my goto close to work, but the one in Coventry is the original and took over the chipotle next to The Grog Shop. Both are amazing.

Steak and Chicken & Steak Fajitas

This place is unreal. So reasonably priced for the insane amount of food you get. Fajitas can be split between 2 people that's how much food there is. The tacos overflow with food. Kind staff with a quick time of service and good vibe in the restaurant. Don't go anywhere else

Love!! So much better than chain restaurant; great service and quick! Fresher ingredients. Our go to is bowls, with side of street corn. There is a bar of pickles available on pack to go for your meal; it is great way to try how hot you would like your meal to be. There are plenty seat inside and the music is not too loud to sit down and enjoy your meal and beverage. Staff is friendly; quesadilla is also delicious if you are switching up from bowl!

We had a tough time deciding on dinner, but glad we chose Cilantro Taqueria! We got chips and queso, tacos, and fajitas. The prices were great for what we ordered. Food was delicious, serving sizes were perfect or even bigger than expected. Even my son who does not eat (he is tube fed) kept asking for more bites of food. Everyone was nice, and special order came out quick. Already recommended this place to others!

Very sadly, I just saw that the two other locations are closing immediately, just 1 day after our Valentine's Day dinner at the Larchmere location - now officially, the only one left standing. The Lakewood Barroco was in my top 5 favorite restaurants in all of Cleveland and I am super bummed. I hope this last location will stay open for a very long time. As for the Barroco food, it was superb. We went all out and tried a few things on the menu. We aren't big drinkers but I sipped on a strawberry mojito with lots of real strawberries throughout ($14) and my bf enjoyed the "Iguana," a pretty little rum cocktail ($12). We shared the shrimp device and tostones appetizer ($18). The tostones reminded me of a structurally sound latke, or potato pancake! Our shrimp ceviche was doused in lemon juice and mixed with lots of healthy vegetables. This was large enough to be an entree for a healthy eater! However, we still had lots of room in our tummies and we each got our own main dish. I stuck to the arepa and yucca fries combo I love so much, although I switched it up and ordered a different arepa than my usual. I liked my "Ropa Vieja," or braised beef arepa ($22), fine but I prefer my usual pulled pork arepa much much more. The braised beef arepa was like a sloppy Joe in an arepa. Made for pretty good leftovers though! My beloved was feeling adventurous and treated himself to a nice and fatty cut of the Carne Asada and Calentado entree ($38). After tax and tip, our bill was a hefty $130 for the two of us. I'd say that the food, the service, and the ambiance made it worth it though and I hope it continues to stay open so we can come back!!

This location opened fairly recently in 2023, which is not too new to have such a terrible experience. I walked in and was greeted, which was promising. I reviewed the menu, selected my previous favorite, and was ready to order. The employee working on someone else's burrito, told me to step by "Order Here" sign multiple times. I wasn't able to advance anywhere near the cash register. She then said something completely unclear multiple times and kept up wrapping her burrito. No "I'll be right with you," just mumbling. A second associate then joined her behind the counter. They then proceeded to socialize with each other and completely ignored me. There was no attempts to take my order, complete checkout, or anything. There was no estimated wait time. I'm almost certain that no customer will hang out at the burrito place all afternoon hoping to place an order. Finally I asked whether I can place an order. Both associates looked at me with surprise like it's an unusual question. Even after asking there was zero progress made with starting my order. I decided that this is my cue to understand that I'm unwelcome and leave. While the concept of beach-inspired Mexican cuisine with tropical flavors is fun, it's not fun enough to wait forever for. I won't be stopping in again. I'm sharing this experience in hopes of other customers receiving a more courteous experience.

Alas, when we arrived at 5:50pm (for our 6 pm reservation), the patio was full, and so, after some back-and-forth about wanting a table in the dining room and not a high-top at the bar, we were seated. The vibe was odd, perhaps because we were the only ones in the seating area but also because of the decor, layout, and furniture: not quite fancy, not quite charming. Rather than warmth and graciousness, I felt like we were imposing on the team by showing up for dinner. Undaunted, we pressed on. Shortly, we were greeted by a friendly team member who answered some questions. We eventually ordered the made-to-order guac and margaritas. The guac was the highlight of the evening. It was fresh, generous, and well-presented. The margaritas were also good. No complaints! Next, we placed our order: meat tacos for me, a burrito dish for my wife, and a shared order of the corn dish. The orders came in good time, all except for the corn. When we asked about it, the reply was "oh, so you'd like to add corn?" "No!" I said. "We'll just take the one we already ordered!!" During this light-hearted exchange, we were also promised an additional side of chips to go with the abundant guac. "Three minutes" was the reply. Never came. The entrees were universally too spicy. I love spicy food, but this level of spice obliterates what I think was a really lovely set of dishes. My wife and I both struggled to get through it because of the heat. Sadly, the team's stinginess with refilling water only added to the spice experience. The makeup corn order was promised "in three minutes" and did arrive in five or six. It's a lovely companion dish, even though timing caused an odd imbalance of food temps. When it was time to settle up, our team member told us she would package up the leftovers and would be back "in three minutes with the bill" because she was also tending the patio. By then, I asked, "is that three minutes or fifteen?!" She returned promptly; we paid the bill and headed to the VAD courtyard for live music. Bottom line: great location and intriguing concept. Something is amiss with the training and team support. As for the food, only the guac and margarita would draw me back.

Terrible quality, service issues, long wait. It's nothing like the original Barrio. Like I'd love to support local and Barrio, but it's now consistently a horrible experience. This time, I arrived during the early afternoon when the place was almost empty. Ordered queso blanco, sassy pineapple drink, and tacos. Sassy pineapple was extremely diluted equivalent to drinking water. I don't know how serving something so watered down is acceptable. I waited patiently for tacos and received unexpected tacos - 3 instead of 4, hard shell instead of soft shell, very soupy. I don't know how the order derailed because there were only a handful of people in the establishment. The order was most certainly not mine, but they never found the original owner. The wait staff was nowhere to be found so when they eventually arrived, I just asked to pay out and refused the order of tacos. There was no "sorry" or offer to fix it. I went next door and supported another restaurant. When I announced to them I'll be doing that, they were very supportive. Barrio is just a huge disappointed. Wait time and service friendliness improved a tad bit but the quality is just awful. No offer for service recovery, no attentiveness, wrong orders and terrible drinks. I won't be dining here again. I'm sorry to see the establishment deteriorate and hope the ownership improves the experience. Cedar Fairmount has plenty of quality restaurants. I'm sorry to say that Barrio isn't one. When I visited for a late lunch in September 2026, I had to walk around the back of the strip mall and enter the restaurant from the back. That was weird, but oh well! I didn't have to wait for a table and was seated in a solo diner table that was sticky to the extreme. Now that's how you know it's legit haha! Anyway, I wasn't too hungry but was hoping to get something nice and authentic. Okay, so I didn't get the most authentic item, but I tried! I got the chicken fajitas ($16) which provided me with enough food for lunch and dinner. I also recieved free chips and salsa. I needed to add salt to the chips. Now even though the food was good, the service was not. My water was filled once, 5 minutes after I ordered it, and never filled again until I walked up to the hostess table and asked for a refill. I also only got one flimsy napkin. And had to wait a REALLY long time for my bill. I couldn't afford anything on the Peruvian part of the menu, sadly. I wish they had some offerings under $15 on that part of the menu, even if it is a small portion of food. I do recommend Las Americas for those looking for authentic food and for those wishing to speak Spanish to their servers. I understand Spanish but have a mental block when speaking it from forming my own sentences. So I did enjoy practicing my Spanish a bit from listening to others!
