I got a weird experience. To put in one word: Exhausting. I got mani pedi for my wedding day. Bride 3 days before wedding, super tired and super busy! Pedi was great, even recommended a better color than I wanted. Super friendly staff. BUT I had to come back TWICE now to fix my nails bc they had bubbles and from what I assume no top coat applied or not dried enough so shit stuck to it. And was friendly and cared but also didn't notice the white missing on quite a few nails. Come back the third time (first appnt was 3 days before my wedding, second and third time was 1 day away, yes last two on the same day) for them to fix the one nail and a different girl works on it and it's now shorter than the rest!! If these aren't for your wedding, this place is great. But if it is, go elsewhere. Not even wanting them to fix it cause I don't have time to sit there longer and come back two more time. First I want to point out that I'm the type of person to read reviews, but not usually leave them. Ha! I paid attention to the fact all the 1 star reviews on here are from years ago, and since then I feel like management/ownership must have changed because I had a great experience and looks like most of the new reviews feel the same, or at least didn't have 1 star experiences, so what I'm getting at-just pay attention to when reviews are posted :P I took my Grandma here for Mother's Day, she's in her late 80s and has bad tremors. I called a day ahead and there was no issue. When we got there I hadn't realized Shakopee was having like Homecoming or Prom or whatever it was but boy were they busyyyyy with teenage girls. They still were able to find spots for me and my grandma to make sure we sat next to each other. The nail tech didn't even need me to explain about tremors as she was immediately patient and took her time. I love my grandma with my whole heart so this eased my mind and knew we could just enjoy this time together. The owner is quite outgoing and liked to do small talk with others and making sure everyone was being taken care of. I just called today to make another appointment on Sunday for me, my grandma, AND my little sister. I'll update my review after that, but I imagine that'll be great service too. Gel manicure prices are comparable to other places I've been. The only downside is it's now cash only, which in the modern world is a little frustrating, but not enough for me to knock a star off, small businesses have to make the right decisions for themselves with all the major credit card companies upping their service fees. They offer water, coffee, tea, etc. and remembered my name after my 2nd time there. They're friendly to everyone that walks in the door!! - I've never had a problem getting in, I usually call when I leave work and see if there's an opening in the next 15-20 minutes - The longest lasting gel manicure I've ever had and done EXACTLY how I asked. I'm new to the area - recently moved from a different southern suburb - and as a picky customer when it comes to nails, I cannot express how delighted I am to have found a new place so close to my new home. Firstly, the man who took my appointment over the phone and also greeted me (and every other customer) was so friendly and prompt if a customer had a request. I also appreciated that the woman who worked on my nails didn't push anything extra on me (some other salons really try to sell you hard on upgrades or services that cost extra). I needed a fill and wanted a color change on my full set. I was there for a little less than an hour and got exactly what I was hoping for. Really displeased with my service and the customer service regarding my complaint. I came to get a pedicure the same day I was leaving for vacation and after an hour and a half left unhappy. Nails were ground painfully thin, filed extremely short and flat after asking to not use clippers because i like them long, and they look like they have about 10 coats of nail polish on. Currently scrubbing them off to repaint myself an hour before leaving for the airport. Called in tears and wouldn't even issue me a partial refund. Small talk only goes so far, in reality the customer service is poor. I had been extremely pleased with my service last time but after the way this was handled I will NOT be back and I wish I hadnt spoken highly of a place that handles their customers this way. (I SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS!! Phenomenal service. We made appts for a bridal party. When we got there they had a sign hanging from the ceiling that said Congrats with the brides name on it and then had a bottle of champagne and popped it for us. They called each one of us by name, and just had exceptional service. The best part, we showed them the pictures we wanted our nails to look like and they NAILED it. Truly exceptional business. I called about 30 mins before arriving and Duke was able to get an appointment in for me! At arrival we checked in fairly quickly and got seated for our pedicures immediately. Everyone here is super friendly! Offered us coffee, tea, and so on. The pedicure itself wasn't super overpriced. Staff here aren't super pushy after we said we didn't want gel (which was refreshing). I didn't have any issues with this salon. They constantly made sure we were comfortable & loved our service. If you pay cash, then they start a punch card for you. Went here as a recommendation for a quick manicure while I was in town. I was a walk-in so I didn't mind the 20 minute wait. When I did get to the tech, he used the same equipment as the last client: his station,hands and equipment were all covered in nail dust. He then cut my nails all the way down to flat with my fingertips instead of trimming them to even the length out, which I asked for. I normally do not have short nails!! Thanks but I'll pay more for clean equipment, hands and someone who will listen to or understand my request. Not sure it was even worth the $15 they charged as it will take awhile to grow my nails back and I hope there are no side effects from the dirty conditions. Don't let the Managers facade of customer service with idle chitchat fool you, smoke and mirrors to hide the poor service. read more

I've been going to the same nail salon for years but moved to out to Shakopee about 6 months ago and got sick of the drive and decided to try this place out because I've heard such great things! I had an appointment on for Thursday for their $23 GEL manicure deal and was extremely disappointed. I spent a total of 25 minutes in the salon and got the worst manicure I've ever had... I've heard such great things about this place so I'm extremely disappointed two of my nails the corners have broken and chipped off and it's only been 4 days. One of the nails chipping 2 days after the manicure. This is all due to the nail technician not taking the time to cut/file my nails down around the edges or making the surface even and smooth so the polish sticks. Nail technician said absolutely nothing to me during the manicure and I'm regretting spending my money at this place. Sad Updating this only one day later: 2 more nails have chipped. Total of 4 nails in under a week... :( read more

How many of you ladies get your nails done? How many of you ladies give it a google before you walk into a cosmetology business to check rates and reviews? Well, if you're like me and do all the above, you're in for a real treat! Yesterday after work I decided to get a mani and a pedi at a business down the street from my house a looked on google and saw they had a (4.3/5.0) rating and thought, why the hell not just go there instead of driving an half an hour away to my favorite nail place - BOY WAS I FUCKING WRONG! I got my pedicure then went and sat down to get my manicure, showed the tech the design the I wanted and she said she could do that, no problem. She asked for my money, BEFORE starting her work, while the other ladies finishing up were asking how much they owned for their service. Today, after posting on Facebook and Snapchat about how dissatisfied I was with my service (pictures included) everyone suggested I should go ask for a refund - hold up wait a minute you can do that?!?! I went to the salon, asked for a manger, they refused to allow me to speak to one, they didn't listen to my complaint and just refused me a refunded!!! I even told the tech (who did my mani/pedi her name is Jaclyn Van) it looked like I was at a slumber party as a teenager and I had one of my friends "practice" doing my nails... STILL NO REFUND!! I was over trying to convince the women that did a horrible job so I called the police to file a formal complaint and Jaclyn said, "go ahead and do that I have time to wait". The police officer was great, listened to my complaint and said the work clearly did not look the same. He also informed that he couldn't really do much because it was a civil matter and not a criminal matter - and that this business has had these SAME ISSUES BEFORE!! Clean facility, fair prices, and friendly staff. They serve alcohol so it's really nice to sip on wine while having a pedicure. The first time I went Jackie did my nails. She was wonderful! The second time I went my nails were done by someone else and it was a poor job which is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. My cuticles were cut on multiple fingers to the point of bleeding and still look really bad, bubbled polish, and mismatched shaped nails.
