We went to check it out before the family outdoor movie the town hosts across the street. The owner, Amy is very welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable about what she does. I went with my godchildren and they enjoyed exploring the store and the kids room to learn more about bees. The store itself is very inviting and she isn't pushy about buying her products. She has a lot of unique stuff handmade from bees including lip balm, Christmas decorations, soaps, etc. My god children enjoyed getting the free honey sticks of different flavors which is definitely a healthier alternative to refined sugar in candy sticks you see at other museums and candy shops. Amy also does school workshops and can be a great educational presenter to invite if you are a teacher or want her to visit your children's school. She also hosts small groups onsite as well.

Still no formic pro, because they did not have a driver to go to betterbee and pick it up. Could not get a delivery date on when it would be available. What a lame excuse. I know some of the former employees, who used to work there, would have drove there to get it. Now, I am going to Betterbee this morning to get my order of formic pro and other items I need.

During that time, I have purchased all of my hive components, my bees, and approximately 99% of my beekeeping equipment from Kutiks. I'm well aware that I could have purchased many of these same products online for significantly less. However, I have always believed in supporting local brick-and-mortar businesses because they are an important part of our community. I'm willing to pay a premium when it helps build long-term relationships, supports local business owners, and provides access to knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately, I have also noticed that the level of expertise and guidance available in the store has declined in recent months. This season, I purchased five nucleus colonies from Kutiks, each supplied in a wooden box with a $30 refundable deposit, provided the boxes were returned by July 1. I returned four of the boxes before the deadline. Due to circumstances, I was unable to return the fifth box until July 17. When I brought it back, I was informed that the deposit would not be refunded because it was past the stated deadline. I understand that businesses have policies, and I respect the need for consistency. At the same time, customer service often requires discretion. Given my history as a loyal customer over the past five years and the fact that all five boxes were ultimately returned, I believe this was an opportunity to demonstrate appreciation for customer loyalty. A small gesture of flexibility would have gone a long way. This isn't really about the $30. It's about whether a business values long-term customer relationships enough to occasionally exercise reasonable judgment when the circumstances warrant it. As a result, I will likely begin shopping elsewhere for the majority of my beekeeping supplies, comparing both price and quality before making future purchases. That is disappointing because I have always preferred supporting a local business over ordering online. Despite my frustration, I have no intention of harming Kutiks' reputation. I will continue to leave my existing reviews because I recognize the value they provide to the beekeeping community. My hope in sharing this feedback is simply to highlight that customer loyalty is earned not only through products, but through the way customers are treated when situations arise that potentially call for a measure of goodwill.

I've never eaten a honeycomb before, and don't eat much honey in general. But the really friendly Living Roots clerk explained to us how Wixson's bees actually construct the honeycomb right inside of the container you purchase it in. So we gave it a go. When we got home, before I even noticed, my whole family dug right into it, and ate like a quarter of the honeycomb brick immediately!! I was all, "WHOA, SLOW YOUR ROLL! GIVE ME THAT." As the proprietor of the venture, I had to see what all the fuss was about. I took a spoonful of honeycomb and ... YUP, WHOA, A BITE OF BLISS. We have been buying from Wood-Bee Farm for many years. I'm always pleased with the quality and taste of their product. Summer Delight was our choice this time.  Google the address and look carefully for a rather small sign next to the road that says "Local Honey". Usually, just barking dogs greet us from a distance.
