    Bidet installation

John was fast, efficient and professional. He placed a bidet for us. He also assembled my son's toddler bed and replaced a door knob.

    Chair rail and paint

I found John on yelp. I replaced my flooring with new floors and needed to have chair rails installed and paint. John came from Fresno all the way to Tulare and gave an estimate. It was fair and reasonable estimate. I hired him to do the job and he did a great job. The chair rail took longer than expected because of the rounded corners, but he made them work. He didn't cut any corners. He took his time and made sure every railing were perfectly aligned. He was very courteous and on time. He worked throughout the day and only took limited break. He is very knowledgeable and takes pride of his work. I would definitely hire him again for additional work and projects. If you want a reliable, dependable and honest handyman, John is your man.

    Floating shelf

I needed several floating shelves and an extremely heavy mirror that needed hanging. John was able to not only affix the shelves and mirrors, but also repair a couple other fixtures that were not installed properly before we moved in to our home. It was very easy to schedule a time for him to stop by. He was done with the work quickly and did not lag. Pricing was very fair. I will definitely hire John again for any work I need done around the house that I can't do on my own.

Fast, reliable, and reasonable prices. I found John Maxwell here on Yelp to install an additional outlet in my bathroom. He was able to give me a price range here, and scheduled a time to come out to look at the job. John arrived promptly and assessed my needs. He gave me a fair price and got to work. The job was completed quickly and competently. I will absolutely use Maxwell's again for my household jobs!

Two weeks ago, Jeff came to our house due to the master bathroom flooding whenever someone flushed…read morethe toilet or ran the shower. Now, we have had this problem in the past, but we've gone about 2.5 years with no issues. Anyway, he said the problem was fixed, the shower was running when he left and the bathroom didn't flood. We assumed everything was fine. The very next morning I turned the shower on... Flood. Unfortunately we had a family emergency out of town, so we weren't able to address this issue again until yesterday. Jeff came out again. Not only did he charge us full price again since 'everything was working when he left', when the problem was clearly not fixed. It was $85 more expensive this time around. Fast forward to today... We've used the shower twice and that bathroom maybe 5 times total... It's flooding AGAIN. So we clearly won't be bothering with this plumbing service in the future. We're out over $400 and nothing has been fixed. Thanks Jeff! For the record, as I stated.. We had this problem once about 2.5 years ago and a similar thing happened where it appeared fixed but started flooding again the next day. The plumber came out and didn't charge us for anything when he came back out to fix it because 'the job wasn't done'. And the original cost was considerably less than one service from Jeff. Unfortunately for us, that plumber retired.

I called them to get a second opinion about a failing AC unit…read more First company deemed the condenser as faulty and said it needs to be replaced, on site initial quote was $5000, which later turned into $12,000 replacement. Andrew from allbritten showed up and discover the whole issue was a chewed up data cable. He worked his wonders for few hours, restored the system and then worked his magic with his superiors to get us an amazing price !!!! I have hired many contractors before but never ever received such a service as this company provided. I'm extremely grateful that they didn't push a new system and really showed their professionalism and customer care!!!

Beware of High Quotes for Simple Repairs…read more I recently had an outdoor faucet break off, leaving the threaded portion stuck inside the pipe. While I'm not a plumber, I'm reasonably handy and felt it might be something I could fix with the proper tools. I contacted Allbritten and scheduled a service call. Pricing was not discussed beforehand because I was told the plumber would need to assess the work and use a company pricing system to determine the cost. The plumber arrived on time, was professional, courteous, and explained that he had performed this type of repair many times before. After evaluating the situation, he returned with a quote and described the work in great detail, comparing the complexity to a surgical procedure. I interrupted and simply asked what the repair would cost. I was given a price range of more than $500 on the low end and more than $800 on the high end. When I asked what would happen if the repair only took 10 minutes, I was told the company charges flat-rate pricing regardless of how long the work takes, although he could contact his supervisor to see if the price could be reduced. I declined the repair based solely on the quoted cost, paid the service-call fee, and we parted on good terms. Afterward, I went to Home Depot, purchased a pipe extractor kit for less than $15, and removed the broken pipe threads myself in under 10 minutes. My issue is not with the technician, who was polite and professional throughout the visit. My concern is with a pricing system that can result in a quote of $500 to $800+ for a repair that, in this case, required a simple tool and only a few minutes of work. I encourage homeowners to get multiple estimates, ask detailed questions about pricing, and consider whether a repair is truly as complex as the quote suggests.
