Great coaches that love their jobs, a nice gym with plenty of equipment, and very talented gymnasts all over the place. Definitely a fan.

Cypress Academy - Outside

Cypress Academy

Just as everything is bigger in Texas, I was told that everything in Houston is bigger up north…read more The latter seems to apply to this Cypress Academy location, which is based in The Woodlands. It's a massive gym chock full of top notch facilities, ideal for all kinds of activities, games, and obviously, gymnastics. (#1) While most places look bigger on the outside, Cypress Academy has the opposite effect. It looks like a big venue but it looks even bigger upon entrance. The place is spacious, well-maintained, and large enough to get lost. It's super kid friendly with dedicated child care evenings, day camps, and the destination for birthday parties. With clean bathrooms, substantial parking, and dedicated areas for private groups, it feels like a no-brainer venue to host large gatherings. The staff is young and good about enforcing rules for all (#2) and are very professional. They're good about explaining the various events they have going on throughout the season, really in tune with the youngins, and are welcoming and attentive to folks coming through the facility. There are multiple locations of Cypress Academy throughout the Houston area, but unsurprisingly, they're all in the north. ___________ (#1) Something I know next-to-nothing about. (#2) No shoes on the mats, sir. My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cypress-academy-the-woodlands-magnolia?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

I am shocked this place has not had a review in seven years…read more.. Anyway, I enjoyed going here and when I brought somebody here while we were at the water park to take a look, they were very impressed. Facilties are great: kids center, racketball courts 3, I believe, family/media type room where you can work, decent sized gym. We have used this location for classes for our kids and have been happy. It's clean and has no issues but parking, and if you take 5 min to wait, you'll get a spot. I think this place is a great value. And for thirty bucks a month, you get an awful lot, including pool access. The price also decreases, the longer you by the membership. We have bought it a couple of times, and my favorite part about it is.The kids zone is really only a couple of dollars an hour to have them watch your kid while you work out.

This place offers a summer camp called fun quest for kids. I had my son there and took him out…read morepretty fast. They have young and non well trained people working there. They take money out of your account automatically on days they are not supposed to. He came home two days in a row with cuts and scratches on his arms and knee and they never told me about it. I confronted them and they said they don't know why the front lady named Veronica never mentioned it to me. It was a horrible experience and I rather pay a little extra next year and have a reliable place for my young child. My son is so much happier now that he knows he doesn't have to go there anymore. Don't waste your time and money and also I don't recommend putting your child in a camp like this. It can't be trusted.

Some of these reviews confuse me but maybe since I am a visitor from out of town, there are details…read moreI haven't seen. First time here visiting from Palm Beach Florida. Our golds is so awesome so I already had a pretty high standard. The only downside of today's visit was the hours. 10am opening time on Sundays, and the sign outside says 24 hours. That only applies to Monday-Friday. Wouldn't have know that if I was just pulling off the highway and didn't stalk the website. No biggie though. I ran some vacation errands to kill time for an hour. Lifting makes me sweat, not small stuff like that. The gym is very well kept, friendly helpful staff, amazing variety of equipment, actually and they even have a "ladies preferred" weight room for the girls who can't hang with the big boys. Sort of like a "judgement free zone". The locker room was phenomenal. Ours is small and pretty too but this one is so spacious I had ultimate privacy changing. Anyway I wouldn't depend on the prior reviews - the grass isn't always greener - you want a perfect gym? Go hit Equinox for $250 a month. Real fit people can lift and love it wherever they go Thanks Golds especially Adrian!! Super big shout out for being accommodating and having a great attitude!! Looking forward to the next week here !

My husband signed up for a 7 day trial pass today and received a call regarding this. He was told…read morethat he could come in for the tour but could only work out if he had a Conroe or Willis ID. We live in Spring but he works down the road from this location in Conroe. I understand that each location has different policies but I don't understand not being able to workout in the gym before signing up for a membership. He was told that if he wanted to work out he would have to sign up or pay for a day pass which is $20. As someone who used to work in the fitness industry, I've never heard of not being able to try to the gym after a tour unless you purchase a membership or day pass.
