Service 5/5 - Always greeted by their friendly staff. They really push you and watch your posture very closely. Sometimes I try to cheat and skip a few reps but then I'm really only cheating myself . The energy here is high and the staff are always pushing us to do better. I love all the fine details they have planned throughout the facility to make the experience better. I forgot to bring a hair tie today and found one in their little tray of goodies for people, q tips, lotion and hair spray too! Cleanliness 5/5 - Cleanest gym I've been to! Almost cleaner than my home - almost. Their showers and washrooms are spick and span. They must have someone cleaning the place everyday! Workout 5/5 - I was very intimated by this workout because I can see from the class right before mine they were doing chin ups and lifting heavy bar bells. Weight training is not really my thing. I'm a Zumba class kind of girl. Turns out the workout wasn't that bad!! It was fun actually and the assisted elastic bands really helps with the chin ups! I feel like a warrior! Half way through the workout I knew I could crush it! When the workout was done I was hoping it would be another 15 min longer! Price 4/5 - Joined as a foundational member and am paying a weekly price. Pretty expensive compared to the do it yourself gyms like GoodLife but of course you don't get the customized experience.

The cardio days are brutal!! haha. I tried the Bayview/Sheppard location but I didn't like the layout as much and it didn't feel the same compared the Empress Walk location. I go between 3-5 days a week with on average 4x. To date I lost close to 40lbs, got more toned and couldn't be more happier. The classes are difficult and they do push you to your limits. There is 1.5hr free parking, but you need to get your ticket validated at the studio. I have a lot to say and before I start rambling here is my main point: This is an amazing place to…read morework out, build muscle, and lose fat! Why is it amazing? 1) Support: the support provided doesnt only come from the team of instructors but also the members who go there. You will meet new faces, re occurring members, and everyone will be be patting you on your back saying "good job" or "you can do it". Or even during the work out when you are struggling the team of amazing instructors will be there giving you verbal motivation or even modifying the workout so you dont quit mid way (to get you that 110%). Even your partner working out with you will say "you can do this! One more!". Bascially, you are never alone! What's more is that the team is super friendly and approachable! Got a question? Feel free and ask as they are more than willing to share their experience, passion and wisdom! 2) Hours: are you a morning person? Join the 6am class! Early work hours? There is the 6 or 7 pm class! Got that hour during for lunch and want to go crazy? Hop in the 12pm class. Missed a class and feeling bummed or want that extra burn? Make it up or push through in the weekend class. Basically saying, hours are flexible for you! 3) Cleanliness: this place is always clean and organized! The staff ensure that when you come in all your equipment is there ready to go! They have face towels to wipe that sweat. Heck after your intense workout go hop in one of their 3 showers to refresh yourself! 4) Ownership/Accountability: The team take pride in their work! They are passionate about what they do! Hence they ensure every member gets a rich and fulfilling experience. They want you to reach that goal! They want you to fit in that dress! Most of all, they want you to feel good about yourself! Meeting your goals, your victory is their victory. They will always ask how they can make things better, how they can improve. What suggestions the members can provide to help other members experience. 5) L-O-C-A-T-I-O-N!: Inside the north york center, this location is so ideal!. Coming downtown? Just hop on the north bound train heading to finch and just walk straight up. No going outside (which is amazing coz winter is coming!). Need to do groceries after? Well loblaws is downstairs! Finished that work out with a friend, partner, SO and want to chill? Cineplex is upstairs. Need to travel far? You are one station away from Finch Terminal for GO access. And for all drivers, you get to park inside the complex (safe from all that snow!) And oh yes they validate parking! My personal experience: I love this place for all the reasons I mentioned. I look forward to come to classes because after I feel energetic and that self satisfaction. I do notice an improvement!Maybe today I will meet someone new, maybe tomorrow I will share a high five with someone i met last week. In the end it always a great experience and I have fun! I've been seeing results!) It is a 30-minute circuit training with 9 stations, including a full body workout; you work with in-house personal trainers, and you get to punch and kick stuff #whynot lol. Another good thing is that you can drop in any time; the circuit starts every 3 minutes - just jump right in! The only time you need to book a time slot is when you sign up via website for a free trial session to see if you like it :) Please do take advantage of it if you're curious/interested and if you want to make a different in your overall health! Honestly, I have been such a long time yogi; I was a bit iffy about kickboxing/circuit training when my coworker asked me to join - it does sound a bit rough and I'm too fragile and delicate LMAO. I have decided to give 9Round a try; I go with my coworker at least 1-2 times a week after work. You can do the training stations by yourself, or work in pairs - which is what we did - it was more interactive, we had a lot more fun, and we push each other to work harder! After a month, I noticed that I have become stronger (now with muscles!), toner and my metabolism has surprisingly increased (aka, I eat a lot more now! Food fuels my hungry muscles lol). The owners, Joe and Irene, are very welcoming and passionate people, and they know your names by heart right when you walk in... okay maybe not Joe, he still mixes me and Julie up lol. The trainers at 9Round are friendly and encouraging, and always cheering us on... even though I know they are sweaty and tired. So, thank you :) Overall, I see potential that 9Round will do very well. I have already seen improvement - the way the manage the time, the flow of the stations, the adjustments and alterations for kickboxers of varioius levels. A quick shoutout to trainer, Ken - thank you for customizing my last workout, I really appreciate that. #girlWHOhasFATarms lol. Keep up the good work, 9Round :) P.S. Make sure you bring your indoor shoes! Owners pride on keeping their place clean at all times :)

This wasn't the ONLY reason why I joined though, Joe, Irene and their trainers are all so devoted in ensuring you get a good workout everytime and slowly increases the difficulties as they assess your progression. None of those shitty safety pins that break your fingers every time you reach for one. Their treadmills are a little close to the TV's, maybe to discourage passive exercising, but there's plenty of them so nothing to complain about. I also found various leg machines that are actually useful, and brand-new plates and barbells that feel ergonomic. This crowd seems to be more into serious lifting too, as opposed to the baby boomers and teenagers you'll find at other Snap locations. Unabashed video making and squatting contests run galore and are almost intimidating. Weekday afternoons are nice and dead until 3pm rolls around and then everyone shows up, but on the upside there are some IG-worthy looking people. The only downside is they don't have a studio, or much of a spot for training and calisthenics. The punching bag is also located right in the middle of the gym so everyone can watch you live out your MMA streetfighter fantasies. There are also plenty of mirrors from all angles, especially around the power racks, to satisfy your inner Narcissus. It can't get better. Another downside is they only have 2 bathrooms which double as changing rooms, which could prove socially awkward during busy hours. The plaza does look sketch even by Torontonian standards, which makes the pothole-ridden but ample parking lot fun during the day, but a crime movie setting at night. But if you're the machine kinda gal or gal you'll be fine(machine's as in you use machines, not that you are a machine. Or maybe you are a machine, or not, but on machines... you know what I mean). One thing they do have here which is neat, are ropes. Not for pull ups, but for waving up and down... so that the rope looks like a snake... or a wave... you know, that arm workout thing you see elite athletes do... ya, I have no idea what it's called... can we just call it "the rope"? The ropes bump this from a 2 star to 3 star, since I haven't seen ropes at any other gym. They also have two punching bags, which you can use to punch, kick, body check, hug, or kiss, 24/7!
