When I walk in I like the fact that the staff are super nice :) very welcoming and friendly. The machines are nice and clean. Since I am not super strong, the weights are just right for me. The locker rooms are nicely taken care of and the guests here do wipe down the machines after they use it. Also the fact that it's purple and yellow makes the gym extra cute! If you go to the tables near the entrance they actually have free pens (purple ink!). My boyfriend actually has the black card which comes down to $25/month and it includes access to all plant fitness, massages (btw u need to try the hydro massage!), 50% drinks, and you can always bring one person in. My gym membership is worth $45/month at good life. Planet fitness is so worth it!

Overall the workout was fine and I did like the energy of the coach (Shaheed) but I think some…read morethings could be improved for the overall gym atmosphere. Firstly they don't have any front desk staff, so it was a bit confusing to locate the change area in the very back of the studio. There weren't any actual change room stalls, you just have to change in the tiny toilet stall which didn't feel that sanitary (uncovered plumber just sitting on the tile floor, no hooks for clothes inside the toilet stall, etc). Next, at the workout, the instructor just told us to grab a "light, medium and heavy weight" from all the dumbbells. Without any additional context it was hard to discern what an appropriate weight was - he should have given examples of the exercises we would be doing with each weight so we can judge what is appropriate. Furthermore the class was PACKED - I counted 22+ people attending, and you were basically shoulder to shoulder doing stuff like side lunges which meant you had to watch where you were stepping. Shaheed did do a good job of giving form corrections given how many people there were, but overall it still felt a little too crowded for the space. There was a huge variation of age ranges and body types in the class. Maybe for this reason the class seems a little bit more geared towards mobility and longevity than hypertrophy - we were doing some movements that I thought were strange (dumbbell curls while balancing on one leg). I can see the benefit for those that need work on their balance but for the average person it didn't seem that optimal for building muscle. Overall the rest of the studio (other than the bathroom) was open and clean, and the intensity of the workout was fine. Because of the negative points I mentioned in my review I don't think I'd come back, but I do see the benefits of this gym especially for those that have mobility concerns.

This was a great group physical activity and I enjoyed the concept of working out together under the guise of a staff member of Ferris360. Ferris360 is an indoor fitness space located in midtown Toronto on Yonge Street just before Davisville and across from Davisville subway station. They have been operating since 2012 and have different workouts catered to different strengths and target areas like HIIT, Pilates, barbell, and strength training. On this snowy, freezing raining Sunday 11 a.m., we had a private class (that's not listed on the roster). It was an one-hour class. We started with some alternating warm-ups: about 1 minute of cardio on any machine to get the heart going (you could choose between the treadmill, the rowing machine, stair climber, bicycle, or one machine there you pulled down using both arms) and then a minute of mat work. There were two major circuits we did which also involved alternating between cardio work and work on the mat with three different level weights. We did chest openers and presses on the floor with the weights. We alternated leg lifts with the weights in our arms. We then did three rounds of 10 weighted squats, 10 squat presses, 10 sit-ups, and 40 shoulder taps with each round alternated with a different cardio activity of our choice. We finished off with a cooling session: child's pose, downward dog, and pigeon pose. The hour of class flew by. The instructor explained all of the different activities thoroughly, but I wish he stayed in front of the room and continued to demonstrate them while we were doing them so I could reference how to do some properly. Nevertheless, it was a fruitful and good workout. The next day, I definitely felt my armpit and connecting arm areas sore from doing the "fly" chest openers. Ferris360 has gendered change rooms and washrooms on site as well as water for purchase. Their collection of varied cardio machines is impressive.

The gym sits on the 36th floor and has a gorgeous view of Lake Ontario and the CN Tower and the Dome! Lots of equipments, Exercise bikes, Elliptical machines, Tread Mills and various other Weight Machines and assorted Bar Bells and Dumbbells. The Change room could be a little crowded during preCovid peak times. Now days quite empty as most members have not yet returned to downtown. It also has a Yoga Studio, Group Exercise classes and a full size swimming pool on the top floor. Steam room and Whirl pool in both Men and Women's Change rooms. Although I have never been in the Women's Change Room. It also has a Health Clinic staffed with many Physiotherapist, Registered Massage Therapist, Chiropractors , Athletic Specialists and Personal Trainers! It has a 5 star restaurant attached with a gorgeous view of the lake and the city. You don't have to be a member to eat at the restaurant or visit the Health Clinic for Treatments. Membership is expensive though, I pay $200 a month for use of the gym and assigned a tiny cube to store my Running Shoes and some gym clothes. The bigger lockers are for day use only . You can request a tour of the facility to get a better understanding of the facilities. If you mention my name, you might get some freebies... I usually go there 3 days a week in early mornings and it's almost like my own Private Gym. 10 minutes walk from my office, so there is no excuse for me not to go and get Fit!

I tried out the yoga lesson bright and early which was great as it felt more like a one one one. I liked this instructor as she wasn't too pushy or too pretentious (as is my issue with Yoga and I never really gave it a genuine go before for this reason). I felt great after and would probably even sign up for a membership if I worked in the area.

This particular review is for a sculpted yoga class I was able to attend at Equinox. I can't comment on the membership prices since the class was a free event held at Equinox, however, I still had access to the entire gym after the yoga class. This particular location on Bay St. is inside Commerce Court West where you have to take an elevator up to the 3rd floor to access the gym. Upon entering you immediately face the reception area. The lighting of the gym at first when you enter is dark and moody. The areas with the machines are well lit and the yoga room overlooks the corner of Bay/King. The change rooms are big where there are plenty of lockers available. You are able to find the steam room, showers, and washrooms inside the changeroom. There is ample space to change and shower after your workout. Everything I needed for the yoga class was provided. The room is not heated. The spacing of the mats are generous where there is ample room for everyone to move. The instructor we had was clear with her instructions and the workout was fun. After class we were provided with cool refreshing towels. Overall, the gym is clean and provides many amenities with all the workout equipment and machines you can think of. The space is nice and definitely caters to a certain type of clientele. Location is in the heart of the financial district as well making it easy for anyone in the downtown core to access.

I was a member of this gym for many years and very satisfied overall…read more It isn't one of the monster chains and therefore may not satisfy many people's needs in terms of size or hours (it is restricted in terms of size and hours because it's right in the middle of the mall), but I never had a better membership experience. The place is kept pretty clean, and the amenities are pretty good - plenty of showers, code combination lockers, and a fair range of hair dryers and freebie lotions and toiletry products. I found the price VERY reasonable, maybe partly due to the fact that I had qualified for a corporate type membership, but I also have to say that I was very pleased that with the passing of the years that I was a customer, I wasn't subject to any rate increase. There are several staff who have been here for years, and some of them are truly great instructors - I remember mostly Gillian (sp.?) for her spin and aerobics type classes. I would end up usually just making use of the machines to fit my schedule, and found them adequate - your usual treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, stair machines. They were generally all in good working order and well maintained. There are plenty of specialist staff if you want additional services. You do get the sales pitch for those when you get your complimentary services, but it's not too high pressure and the complimentary services are a good start to your membership. Most of all, I have to give this gym 5 stars for their service and integrity - including that point where you cancel your membership. (Not to mention, it was great having a stint of many years without the place going out of business, as gyms tend to do.) When I came in to do the final deed, it was the most painless experience (pun intended) a gym could offer - they promptly, efficiently, and with a smile, processed my paperwork, confirmed dates and amounts, and reassured me with an official slip in the event that there were any glitches with payments ending (there were none). I can't believe it, but it was a sad good-bye to this gym. I hope and pray that I can find a replacement that can fill its shoes. I would go back in a raised rate heartbeat.

Lets leave the stretching portion of this review alone for a second and get into some cardio to warm up... I've been a Goodlife member for about 4 years now, and have been using the Aurora location for little over 2 years. It's located on Bayview Ave in Aurora just north of Wellington (in the Cineplex/Sobeys plaza). Its a new-ish location and the staff has done a pretty fair job at maintaining both the equipment and the facilities. Speaking of the staff, I find the staff here to be #1 in terms of friendly and informative. Any question or concern I have ever had has always been addressed and answered in little to no time and with a smile. "Pant pant pant pant".... Gasp... Ok, (swallow) so now that we're warmed up were gonna start to hit this review pretty hard with some power sets where we are gonna look at the facilities and the classes. As I mentioned above the facilities here are really well kept, although my one MAJOR complaint is the small size and related number of facilities/machines available. On a busy night you cannot get a proper work out in as many of the machines are occupied by people who like to "look" like they work out and spend 1/2 their time posing on the machine and flexing in the mirror. Also, many other Goodlife locations offer amenities such as hot yoga or a swimming pool - this location has neither. I feel like in planning this location they didn't plan it out very well at all. Moving into the classes, Goodlife does offer a full schedule of classes for different people at different levels. I recommend starting with Body Pump, its a great full body work out in under 1 hour and you are sore and tired by the end BUT it teaches you the basic moves and body areas to focus on when you are ready to hit the floor on your own. One note is that I've never been able to take part in a spinning class because again their is a lack of available space for new comers (the regulars have the bikes all booked up). GRUNNNNNTTTTT----STRAAAIIIINNNNNN----YARRGGGHHHH!!! Great power set, PHEW, well now were just gonna start to cool down now, let me tell you about a few other things this location offers that are kinda cool. Personal trainers - some are great while others have been not so good, I recommend Dave or Dan, they've been at this location awhile and these two guys are tops in my books Child care - while there are no little Kris U.'s running around at this time I know that many busy parents take full advantage of the child care centre here - a great service offered so Mom and Dad can stay in shape. Other - They also have tanning booths, saunas and a pretty decent selection of Protein shakes and drinks for purchase at the front desk. Well, thanks for working out with me today guys and gals, I think we made some serious progress, but until next time .... Keep fit and have fun :)

There are certain time slots where the classes fill up quickly which requires you to show up 30 minutes early in order to sign up. I wish there was a way to call instead of having to show up so early. I've done a few bodypump classes and a few body flow classes as well they are good. I find the environment fairly relaxed there and not intimidating.
