Our home had a 6-camera surveillance system which needed repair in November 2021. After reading through many reviews, we contacted Maxi Technologies Inc. mainly because of its 5-star reviews. Now I feel I am obligated to share my experience in hopes that other potential customers may learn from my experience. Maxi Technologies Inc.'s owner, Mr. Joseph Ovadia, told us that instead of fixing our existing system, he could install a better system for $2,200 with a one-year labor and material warranty. We took his advice and he did the installation. After the installation, as he was showing us the new system on December 17, 2021, we learned the system only saved 3 days of video recordings to review while our old system saved 3 weeks of video. This was a total surprise to us as we were told this would be a "better" system. To be able to replicate our original data capacity, we were told an option was we needed to pay an additional $100 for 5 TB storage; unfortunately, this was only agreed upon verbally. When Mr. Ovadia came to upgrade the storage on January 7, 2022, he said the charge was $250 and he did not accept the $100 as had been agreed upon, and left. We then mailed a check of $100 to his office which was received, to cover the charge as originally agreed. During the replacement of the storage, we saw that the unit he originally installed was a 1 TB hard drive while the contract specifically stated that the system would have a 2TB hard drive. Had we not asked to upgrade our storage, we would never have learned that he had under-delivered on the system that we agreed to. On February 1, 2022, 3 months into our one-year warranty period, we emailed and called his office for support when one of our cameras did not display images. We were then informed that the contract had been REVOKED by Maxi Technologies Inc., cutting off all support and canceling our 1-year labor and material warranty with no notice or refund. This failure to deliver the service as contracted is totally unprofessional, and we deeply regret our decision to work with Maxi Technologies Inc. read more
