It's right by the airport. (And by that I literally mean inside the airport). So, it's super convenient for souvenirs while you're traveling. They sell them by the weight and oh my goodness! Each one is a bite of heaven. We ended up buying almost twelve or so and worried that we might have bought way too many. But, we quickly learned there's no such thing as too many. They are simply divine. Just a little bit of crunch and gooey deliciousness. My favorite one was the Rose with Strawberries. (at least I think it was strawberries... chances are it could also be raspberries!) But, honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the options. Another unusual one I enjoyed was the Strawberry Rhubarb. The only thing I would warn you about is watiting to long to eat them. They're sooo good the first day or two, but get stale if you wait a week. So eat up! While you're here, don't forget to pick up some truffles too! Those are just as good as the luxembergeli, but luckily last much longer. I didn't try any of the unusual flavors, but all their chocolate was the bomb. The white chocolate truffles were absolutely my favorite of all. I wish I could say I'll be back soon, but I guess I might not be able to come back. But, anytime I'm near I'll definitely try to come back soon. For now, I might just have to settle with international delivery for special occasions.

Teuscher is known for their champagne truffles so, I made sure I got a box of them. I also got bars and boxes of chocolates to give away to friends and family. I love how they have a lactose-free chocolate option. They have white, milk, and dark chocolates, plain, fruits, nuts... The customer service was superb! They saw me struggling with all the chocolate bars in my hands so, they quickly grabbed them from me and gave me a basket for more chocolates. And the gentleman was telling me about their products. They were giving me free samples so I can narrow down my options...or make me grab more chocolates. They gave me extra shopping bags since I had multiple bags from different chocolate shops when I walked in. I've been munching on chocolates more than usual every single day since I went to Zurich. I've been comparing different brands and I must say their champagne truffles definitely live up to the hype. Yuuuummm!!! You just can't go wrong with Swiss chocolates.

I also tried their famous champagne truffle (dark chocolate version) and ultimately decided I didn't like the champagne flavor in chocolate but loved the rest of the truffle. Also the shop is adorable in a way that makes it quite different from the more corporate Sprüngli and Läderach vibe. Plus they had a lot of gluten free and lactose free options which was very nice. It was light and refreshing, yet not overlay rich. It was perfect for a hot summer day. They are known for their luxemburgerli but it was during the heat wave when we went and it was so hot that I wasn't in the mood for anything too sugary so I didn't get any to try which I really regret and would love to try them out next time I'm in town. Service was quite slow. We waited for over 15mins before we were seated even though there's tables available. And no one came to acknowledge us during that time as well. Next time when I return, I would probably opt to just pick up some luxemburgerli to go unless you're very tired and just want to find a place to sit down and rest.

I'd say this is a must visit for a special little gift for someone. Anyways, my review is for the museum in Zurich! What a crazy experience! We bought tickets online about a month and a half out and they were surprisingly reasonable. It's a timed entrance so you have to make your best guess. You enter on the second floor where you get squeezed around guided tour groups and just masses and masses of people. The timed tickets apparently do nothing to stem the flow of hyper children and teenagers running amuck. The museum portion was interesting but we were not provided an audio guide nor was there a docent assigned to us. Suddenly chocolate fountains of white, milk and dark came into view and all thoughts of learning chocolate facts went out the window. We grabbed these disposable spoons and felt like Augustus Gloop as we licked the chocolates and then felt like hamsters as we stuck out our palms to receive the bits of chocolate dispensed out of tubes. Nothing was labeled but each tube dispensed a different flavor of chocolate! At the very end of the tour, we were given 1 of each flavor of the Lindor truffle balls! There was even a cute interactive part outside the museum where if you scan your ticket, you watch a Rube Goldberg machine transfer a ball into a piece of wrapped chocolate into your hand! I would've enjoyed this more had not this feral little boy behind us not screamed and clutched at people because he could not wait his turn. The shop was pretty expensive and I could not tell the difference between Lindt chocolate sold in the US but the tastings were magical. It's my own fault for coming here in peak season but man...the droves of people really dampened the experience for me.

Prices might appear high at first, but compared to factory-made chocolate it is definitely worth the extra buck. They have nice Pralinés (with and without boxes) and other chocolate-related products. But we always come here for the chunks of fresh chocolate. Even though at first we weren't much into dark chocolate, that changed after trying some of these products here. They just taste different (and better) than their famous counterparts from Lindt / Cailler etc. Some of our favorites are the white "Glacier", the "Florentiner Milch" and the "Honig Milch". But the dark ones are somewhat the best. We love the "Orange Mandel", "Grand Cru Brasil", "Cabruca Baumnuss" and the lovely fruity "Brombeer Dunkel". All good stuff. You can ask for some samples if you're not sure and ask nicely. You can get it by weight or also in a nice tin can, stays fresher that way. Since their standard is equally high in any of their branches it doesn't matter you buy them here in Zurich, in Lucerne or wherever. Highly recommended. The store is filled with sweetness as soon as you entered which I enjoyed so much but probably not an everyday scent especially for the workers;) If you ever have a chance to visit Switzerland, make sure to look for Laderach. Thank you for reading my review. It's been awhile. Have a great Sunday evening.

They said Tag Heuer. Did I say "good friends?" I meant former friends. Well, since I'm not Jeff Bezos, I decided to get them some nice chocolate. Let's face it, Switzerland makes some of the best chocolate around. I don't know if they have special beans or magical cows that produce special milk, but damn, it's like euphoria when eating a piece of Swiss chocolate. Ok, maybe I take my chocolate a little too serious, but most Swiss chocolate is really THAT good. Laderach is one of those places that really elevates it. While I have tried a few of their chocolate pieces, the real star is the FrischSchoggi. While in Bahnhofstrasse last year, I wasn't able to go to their main store (I went to Sprungli instead). However, I did go to this location in the airport. We loved it so much (we finished whatever we bought on the plane), we had to get more of the FrischSchoggi. This is high-quality chocolate, so you will pay good money for it. But, it's nothing different than some of the high end chocolatiers that you find in the US. The sheer selection of FrischSchoggi will blow your mind. I would say that they have 25+ varieties here. Don't afraid to ask for a sample or two (or 6 in my case). My favorite is the hazelnut (like a candied hazelnut), but I also like the Rocher (almonds) and also Raspberry-Blackberry, for a little bit of fruity contrast. It's also made with white chocolate. The service here is super-friendly. They speak English just fine, so they could help me with all the questions I had. Aside from the individual pieces they have and the big display case of FrischSchoggi, they do have pre-packaged gifts that you can quickly pick out and buy, if you are in a hurry. Even a sampler pack of the FrischSchoggi. Just the tip: This shop is before security. Make sure to plan it out. Last year, I almost went thru security first thinking that I could get that out of the way first. Good think I didn't.

I've been to Belgium which some say has the best chocolate. I've been to France, Italy, UK, Germany, Finland, and Ecuador - they do have some good chocolate. But I will always want Swiss chocolate. There are three chocolatiers in Switzerland that I love. I like Läderach because they don't overcomplicate their combinations. And they give you free samples. You can buy boxes of chocolates, truffles by the bag, chocolate slabs by the gram. My favorites are the chocolate with whole hazelnut slabs, and chocolate cornflake slabs. They have a nice selection of chocolate + hazelnut so I get a box of those in different varieties. This particular location is at the Central Station which is convenient. There is another Läderach outside Central Station. Whichever location you go to, you can expect the same great experience and some of the finest chocolates that will ever touch your mouth.

This place has some excellent dark and white chocolate in addition to the traditional milk. You can get a huge variety of truffles, or they have slabs of chocolate with various inclusions like candied oranges, blackberry, roasted hazelnuts or almonds, or even some more exotic varieties with things like pink peppercorns or pistachios. The people at Läderach pride themselves on FRESHNESS, so I wouldn't recommend overbuying. Not that it was much of a problem for us: the first bag was gone within a day, so we had to plan a return trip before we left the country and quadrupled our "pilot" purchase. If you need to spend those extra CHF before you leave out, there are worse things to spend it on... just be sure to stay under the duty free limit :D
