It was light and refreshing, yet not overlay rich. It was perfect for a hot summer day. They are known for their luxemburgerli but it was during the heat wave when we went and it was so hot that I wasn't in the mood for anything too sugary so I didn't get any to try which I really regret and would love to try them out next time I'm in town. Service was quite slow. We waited for over 15mins before we were seated even though there's tables available. And no one came to acknowledge us during that time as well. Next time when I return, I would probably opt to just pick up some luxemburgerli to go unless you're very tired and just want to find a place to sit down and rest.

Teuscher is known for their champagne truffles so, I made sure I got a box of them. I also got bars and boxes of chocolates to give away to friends and family. I love how they have a lactose-free chocolate option. They have white, milk, and dark chocolates, plain, fruits, nuts... The customer service was superb! They saw me struggling with all the chocolate bars in my hands so, they quickly grabbed them from me and gave me a basket for more chocolates. And the gentleman was telling me about their products. They were giving me free samples so I can narrow down my options...or make me grab more chocolates. They gave me extra shopping bags since I had multiple bags from different chocolate shops when I walked in. I've been munching on chocolates more than usual every single day since I went to Zurich. I've been comparing different brands and I must say their champagne truffles definitely live up to the hype. Yuuuummm!!! You just can't go wrong with Swiss chocolates.

I also tried their famous champagne truffle (dark chocolate version) and ultimately decided I didn't like the champagne flavor in chocolate but loved the rest of the truffle. Also the shop is adorable in a way that makes it quite different from the more corporate Sprüngli and Läderach vibe. Plus they had a lot of gluten free and lactose free options which was very nice. Want to go back and try more truffles!
Very happy and cheery inside this store
Yelp Review 2026 #79:…read more My first experience here several years ago was not pleasant at all thanks to the rude store attendant. I was hesitant to come back here because of that horrible employee. But all is well on my most recent visit. I wasn't planning allowed to take pictures, I was given free samples so, I bought some chocolates this time around. I recommend their mate, elvesia and haselnuss (hazelnut) bonbons. Those were my selections on this visit. It's a small chocolate shop but they have everything their bigger store in Lucerne has. Hot chocolate, dragees, bon bons, truffles, spreads, chocolate bars, and ice cream. Their chocolates are some of the best in Switzerland. Their location is convenient. Only a few feet away from St. Peter's Church.

The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the aroma of fresh chocolate and displays of their famous slabs, pralines, and seasonal creations. Everything looks (and tastes) amazing. They are quite the size of your palm and that is quite big enough to enjoy. You can get a smaller size too if you want to try them all. It's a great spot for picking up gifts to bring home, but honestly, you'll probably want to treat yourself too. A sweet highlight of my Zürich trip.

Yelp Review 2023 #22:…read more Läderach is one of my favorite chocolatiers in the whole world. I eat chocolate everyday, and I travel the world sampling chocolates. I've been to Belgium which some say has the best chocolate. I've been to France, Italy, UK, Germany, Finland, and Ecuador - they do have some good chocolate. But I will always want Swiss chocolate. There are three chocolatiers in Switzerland that I love. I like Läderach because they don't overcomplicate their combinations. And they give you free samples. You can buy boxes of chocolates, truffles by the bag, chocolate slabs by the gram. My favorites are the chocolate with whole hazelnut slabs, and chocolate cornflake slabs. They have a nice selection of chocolate + hazelnut so I get a box of those in different varieties. This particular location is at the Central Station which is convenient. There is another Läderach outside Central Station. Whichever location you go to, you can expect the same great experience and some of the finest chocolates that will ever touch your mouth.

This place has some excellent dark and white chocolate in addition to the traditional milk. You can get a huge variety of truffles, or they have slabs of chocolate with various inclusions like candied oranges, blackberry, roasted hazelnuts or almonds, or even some more exotic varieties with things like pink peppercorns or pistachios. The people at Läderach pride themselves on FRESHNESS, so I wouldn't recommend overbuying. Not that it was much of a problem for us: the first bag was gone within a day, so we had to plan a return trip before we left the country and quadrupled our "pilot" purchase. If you need to spend those extra CHF before you leave out, there are worse things to spend it on... just be sure to stay under the duty free limit :D

Yelp Review 2026 #77:…read more Honold Tea Room was closed for renovations on my recent trip to Zürich. The tea room is old but has character. Right now, they have a temporary stall a few feet away from the tea room. Find a yellow stall at the corner of Oetenbachgasse and Bahnhofstrasse. This temporary location is of course small and there are about only 3 small tables a coupld of chairs. The menu is limited to their most popular items: latte, hot chocolate, matcha, frappe, ice cream, sorbet, fruit tart, chocolate mousse, cake slices, sandwiches, and pastries. They have a dessert called Teddy which is like a mousse shaped like a Teddy bear - the flavor changes every season. I didn't like the flavor available (citron) so, I didn't get one. Take note: the price of their food is higher for dine-in vs to-go. Latte Macchiato: A nice thick foam and a strong taste of espresso. They have lactose-free milk which is nice. 4/5 Hot Chocolate: Züri Oberland Milch mit hauseigener Couverture Grand Cru. Using only local milk and their grand cru chocolate, it's a good cup of hot chocolate. 4/5 Service is friendly, quick and efficient.

Moser's Backparadies - Zürich…read more As I walked one morning, exploring downtown Zürich, I wanted something local for breakfast. This place offers freshly baked sweet delights and sandwiches that are so good. OMG!!! I ordered flakey pretzel roll with salmon. It was simple, quick bite, but by far, one of my favorite salmon sandwiches I've had in such a long time. If you're a salmon lover, be sure to stop by for quick bite. Only bad thing I would say about this place is when you first come in through glass doors, to the right... deliciousness danger zone. Of my few visits, I have only ever had flavorful meals attractively presented. I took my family on their first ever visit to CH to CZ for dinner and they very much enjoyed it! Having lived through the Summer of Love in San Fran as young adults, I'd like to say that this place brought 'em back, in a good way. Some of the cuisine we sampled was: Bärlauch pesto over penne, gorgeous creamed broccoli-bell pepper soup, halloumi plate accompanied by different types of salad, and tofu with veggies in a curry broth. The family was satisfied and so was I. On a warm day nothing really beats sitting outside under the trees with birds chirping having, as Ken M. said, righteous 'hippie food' at Cafe Zähringer. Non-smokers sitting out front beware--you will inhale a cig's worth of smoke or more.

The coffee was also very good and the donut was perfect. It was really hearty and actually sufficed as a breakfast. It was much more filling than the typical American fluffy donuts. At the urging of a local friend, I purchased a Gnaedinger gipfeli last week for the first time. As promised, it was buttery-good. I've since been back for more of the same. Yesterday, I was hankering for a bit of chocolate, so I ordered a 'schoggi-gipfeli' (chocolate croissant). Gnaedinger offers two kinds: the usual gipfeli with a standard chocolate filling, and a 'special' gipfeli with Gnaedinger chocolate with fendant centre in the middle. As a relative newbie to the Schweiz, I can't say that I know my way around a Swiss choco-croissant, regardless if it's made with fancy chocolate or not. Still, I opted for the 'upgrade' as I was curious about the fendant-filled delight in the middle of the pastry. The schoggi-gipfeli was worth the 3.30CHF, but, let me say to the uninitiated, expect to be eating, basically, a croissant with a decently-sized chocolate bar lodged into its belly. Part of me wanted to remove the bar and eat it separately, but, as I was sitting with my bounty and a coffee near others across the way in Starbucks, I didn't want to draw attention to myself. Other good bits to be found in the Bakery/Confectionery zone: bread, rolls, sandwiches, laugenbroetli of various description, truffles, cakes and tortes.
