I had a bathroom outlet in my rental home that wasn't providing power -- it was newly installed about a year ago and this was the first time I tested it. I called to schedule an appointment, and the person I spoke with walked me through scheduling and availability but at no point mentioned that they have a $285 minimum service charge, regardless of how simple the job turns out to be. The electrician arrived and diagnosed the issue almost immediately: a switch/breaker in the main panel had simply been left off. He flipped it back on, tested the outlet, and confirmed it was working -- the entire fix took just a few minutes. Despite the simplicity of the issue, I was charged the full $285 minimum. I understand service calls have overhead, but I feel strongly that a charge this significant should be communicated clearly at the time of scheduling, not after the technician has already been to my home and the work is done. Had I known about the $285 minimum in advance, I would have asked more questions or looked elsewhere. I'm not disputing the technician's professionalism. My issue is entirely with the lack of upfront pricing transparency.

I lucked into working with MaxCharged by a Google search when I needed a Tesla Home Charger for my new vehicle. The office employee was friendly and helpful and promptly arranged for me to talk with a technician about a quote for my job. Unknown to me, my city requires a permit to add what I thought was just another 220V outlet to power the charger. Nick, the technician I dealt with, explained the requirements (I was hesitant at first - permits cost money!) and patiently referred me to my city's codes, the safety aspects of the load review, and explained the process. Also, we discussed direct wiring the charger into my breaker box with a dedicated breaker, which was cost effective and electrically desirable. Safety and compliance are paramount in my business life and personal outlook, so I am glad Nick was so knowledgeable and MaxCharged was so attentive to these principles. Throughout the time required to prepare and submit the permit, review by the city, and install the charger, MaxCharged kept me notified of progress and deadlines. Scheduling for the installation was done perfectly and the install was done faster than expected. As part of my project, Nick recommended relabeling my breaker box, as the 1995-vintage outdoor panel labels had deteriorated, and the original designations were vague at best. When that was completed, one garage light did not work - an older fluorescent fixture. MaxCharged offered to replace the fixture at no charge, even though it wasn't their issue, and arranged for a separate appointment to have that done. My garage is now lit by a great LED fixture that will never need a bulb changed! I recommend MaxCharged to anyone who is looking for conscientious, personable, and dedicated electrical work. I submitted a request online for an EV charger install at my home. Greg called me almost immediately and spent 30 minutes on the phone explaining my options. They were able to come out the same day to provide me a quote. After receiving a couple of quotes, I decided to move forward with MaxCharged for my project. Nick (the owner) is also the installer and he immediately started working to get the appropriate permits through the City of Phoenix. He also had discussed my charger options which I was ordering on my own. Once the charger came in I let him know I was ready to move forward. Due to their busy schedule. They ended up offering to come out on a Sunday during Memorial Day weekend to do the install so that I would have a charger for my new car before it arrives. On May 31st. They went above and beyond to make sure that they took care of me before the car came. I had to resolve an issue with the city of Peoria over an unpermitted electrical circuit breaker in…read moremy home that was delaying installation of a solar battery. I decided to request help with this through a contractor referral service provided by Home Depot. Levi from LEL Electric responded to it within minutes. I explained to him in detail what I all needed to have done to comply with the city's permit office. Levi said he could definitely help me with that. After agreeing to terms, he made a service trip out to my house later the same day to perform an inspection and assessment of the electrical circuitry in a garage subpanel box that Peoria had no record of ever being permitted. When Levi arrived, he immediately saw and corrected some issues with the wiring and circuit breakers in the subpanel that would not have passed a city inspection. He then traced down which garage and patio outlets where being controlled by each breaker and provided me with a sketch of this, which is needed for a permit application submittal. Levi also provided me with cable and electrical load specs that must also be stated in the application. Finally, Levi provided some candid advice on filing the circuit breaker application with Peoria and offered to look it over before submitting it. He also said the subpanel box should have notes posted that provide a directory of what each breaker controls. After he left an hour and a half later, I felt confident in being able to properly prepare and submit the permit application. I am hoping it will pass an inspection and can get properly permitted. It was a pleasure to work with Levi of LEL Electric. He was respectful, courteous and well-prepared for dealing with my electrical problem. Levi clearly demonstrated his experience and skills at helping me with it. I would definitely call upon him again if needed and recommend his service.
