Excellent customer service. They went above and beyond with helping fix a flat tire. I'm from out of state and they did everything to help resolve and fix my tire issue. I highly recommend. Julie Ann was amazing. Thank you so much! read more

I should have looked at the reviews before I went to this place. I had a tire sensor on my dashboard come on. I, naturally thought I might need a new tire. I made an appointment for today. I arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment. The man at the check in desk went out to look at my tires. No guage, just his eyes. He came back in and asked if I wanted new tires. I said, yes if I needed it but just one. He finally went back out, with a guage this time. He came back and said the front passenger side tire was the bad one. He said it and my back 2 tires were dry rotted. I couldn't see how that was possible since they weren't that old. I said I didn't have money for 3 new tires. I inquired about the low tire price I had seen online. He said they didn't carry those tires and mine would cost $150. I thought that was very high, but if I needed it. Over an hour later, he comes up to me and says, ha ha it wasn't the tire after all. It was a bad sensor. But since I had already bought the tire, they would give me the sensor ( which was $126, he said) for free. So what I think happened here is just what they say happens to women regarding car service. I think I was price gouged and definitely sold something I didn't need!! I was looking for an honest, full service place that would handle all my automobile needs. This isn't it. read more

1 STAR -- If you value your vehicle, go somewhere else. What an absolute joke of an experience. I bought a set of tires from Mavis and paid them to install them. You would think something as basic as reading the tire pressure sticker on the driver's door would be part of the job. Apparently, that was asking for too much. They installed the tires with the wrong air pressure. Then came the real fun: after the installation, my TPMS sensors stopped working. Instead of fixing the problem, I was told to take my vehicle somewhere else and PAY to have the sensors replaced. So apparently, paying Mavis for a tire installation also comes with the exciting bonus of paying another shop to fix the aftermath. And that's not even the worst part. I went back TWO DAYS IN A ROW because I wanted to have the tires balanced. I was willing to PAY for the balancing service, and somehow they couldn't even get that done. Two separate trips, two wasted days, and still no balancing. At that point, I started wondering if I was asking them to perform some kind of advanced engineering instead of balancing four tires. The employee helping me claimed that one of the sensors was already "dangling" and said she personally saw it. Interesting, considering she wasn't even present when the tires were being removed and installed. They told me they have cameras, so naturally I asked to see the footage. Suddenly, that became a headquarters-in-New-York situation. Apparently, seeing their own security footage requires a corporate investigation. The customer service was just as impressive as the workmanship--or lack thereof. Nobody seemed interested in actually solving the problem. Instead, I got excuses, finger-pointing, and a referral to another shop where I was expected to spend even more money. I paid Mavis to install my tires correctly, not to create problems and then send me somewhere else to pay for fixing them. If this is the level of service they consider acceptable, they might want to change their slogan to: "You pay us once, then pay someone else to fix it." Do yourself a favor and check EVERYTHING before leaving this place. Check your tire pressure, check your TPMS, check the balancing, and check your vehicle like you just watched someone work on it for the first time. I came in expecting a professional tire installation and left with malfunctioning sensors, extra expenses, two wasted days, and a customer-service experience that was practically nonexistent. Never again. Mavis has officially lost my business. read more

Where do I begin with this place? Ordered 3 tires, wanted them rotated and balanced however we got NONE of these services!!! Sat there 3-4 hours to learn the tires didn't fit and that they would just put my tires back on but no one told me that one of my tires splitted during changing and I could not leave business cause they didn't have a replacement!! So I literally called a ride, went to Anglin Tire Co in south Jackson and purchased a brand new tire to take back to Mavis TIRE CO so I could get my car and go!! How about they charged me $31 to balance the tire they didn't have and I had to buy elsewhere?!?? They are scammy and several other customers were unsatisfied with them as well!! This place should be closed down and the manager needs communication skills and lack the basic customer service experience! Thanks for the inconvenience MAVIS!! I give it another year and yall will be CLOSED!!! TERRIBLE!!! read more

My daughter recently stopped by this shop because she heard a slight screeching noise when braking and wanted help identifying the issue. She was told she needed all new brake pads and rotors and that there was a nail in one of her tires requiring replacement. The estimated cost was over $1,500. Because her vehicle only has 55,000 miles, we decided to get a second opinion at another reputable shop. We were told there was absolutely nothing wrong with her brakes, and there was no nail in her tire. For preventative maintenance, we simply had her tires rotated. I strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before approving major repairs. While I understand businesses need to make money, this experience left us feeling uneasy. Please do your research and make informed decisions. read more

I would strongly advise people to be cautious here. I brought my car in for a tire rotation and left feeling like they were trying to upsell me on issues that didn't exist. I was told multiple parts were urgent (after I saw him destroying it) my tire sensors) and need immediate replacement. It felt like they were more focused on finding ways to increase my bill than simply rotating my tires. I would never recommend them to anyone. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Absolutely demeaning interaction. Lady at the front had the nastiest attitude, and was extremely rude and unhelpful. They didn't even check out the correct tire that was flat, and spent all of about 15 seconds looking at my car before letting me know that I had to get a full replacement (~200 dollars). They made up some imaginary spot on my tires that indicated that I needed to get it done, and when I pointed out that all of my tires had the same aforementioned "spot", he just shrugged and walked away. On June 26th I took my car in to Mavis to get an alignment I had called and booked an appointment and ask them how long it would take they said about an hour and a half when I get there to take the car back there for about 10 minutes and bring them back to you all done. Going down the highway the car is still doing the same thing, get up the next morning and one of the tires of leaning out I take the car back Leanna told me that when they pulled it up on the rack the wheel fell back in place but it was nothing that they could do. Because I was still having the problems I took it to a mechanic shop and guess what no alignment was done this was an insurance claim so I am going to get with the insurance and see how they want to handle this. Tire pressure light on. Asked Mavis to check it. asked them to rotate and balance tires. I left it with them around 8:30am. I called them around 2:30 for status. said it was done. Paid for the balance and rotation. I saw the line item to check the TPMS on the invoice. Cranked truck to leave. TPMS light still came on. went back in. After 30 minutes they told me it was a bad sensor. Said they could replace it. Been waiting now over an hour. No word yet. It's 4pm. So I learned from this. Will never do business with them again. I'm not upset or anything though I probably should be. Guess I'm used to this sort of thing. Next time I will take it to a dealer for anything and everything. Have better service there. I came here nearly 1 month ago to get brake & tire work done because my car was shakey after I applied pressure to the brakes. After they had a look at the car, Kadarius informed me that my tires were fine and that I needed break and shock work done. After they did the break & shock work, I still noticed a shake when I would apply pressure to the gas. I called back & spoke with Kadarius and he told me to bring it back be because I probably needed an alignment. Today, I finally got some free time outside of my job to bring it back and the black lady with dreads told me that it's shakey because (guess what?) I NEED TIRES. She spoke to me as if that was something they told me i needed the last time when I was under the impression that they were fine per Kadarius' words. They said it was documented in the computer that I needed tires. BUT IT WAS NOT TOLD TO ME. I came initially to get tire work done so why wouldn't I have gotten it done the first time I was there. Nobody told me I needed tire work because if they did then that means I would've declined having the tire work done. Why would I have not gotten it done when that's what I went in for the first time? During my first visit, Kadarius tried to give me the ultimatum to bring my car to his house to get the work done at a cheaper price and I declined. I don't know if this constant misinformation from Kadarius was a punishment for declining to allow him to operate on my vehicle but I brought my car to Walmart to get my tires. I'm sure Kadarius is a great mechanic which is why I'm almost positive that y'all need to have him OUTSIDE working on cars and not in front servicing customers. He lacks the basic skills & decorum for such a job. I had to give him my email address as if I was helping a kindergartner sound out a word for the first time & my name which is 75% of the email was right in front of him. Smh. just know if I could give less than one star I damn sure would. Do NOT ever send your business to Mavis Discount Tire on state street in Jackson, MS. My wife took our vehicle there to get two new tires so all four of our tires are brand new, they were more worried about upselling her for about a $2,500 bill rather then just doing the tires and letting her go on her way so our mechanic can do the other repairs that was needed. Because of this, yesterday on the way home from my colonoscopy and endoscopy the car started making a weird noise. When we pulled up to her parents house I inspected the tire and notice THREE OF HER FOUR LUG STUDS snapped in half on the way home (attached will be a picture) I called the store and spoke with the manager on duty, Leanne, and of course the finger pointing towards my wife began. I informed her she will not disrespect and blame my wife for her mechanics fault, and she proceeded to hang up on me. I will be contacting corporate first thing Monday and filing a formal complaint against the store and said manager on duty. When I called to get the corporate number, I was placed on hold then eventually hung up on. Now my disabled ass is attempting to fix their fuck up (I am not sorry for my language right now because OUR CHILDREN RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE) and have spent my final dollar getting parts and tools to get her back on the road. Amazing service! Needed air in my tire and they were pleasant, friendly and extremely quick!

first time I went to them, they tried to sell me on powersteering fluid for my car that has all electric power steering. I was literally just there to fix a hole in one tire. It took forever and they sold me on some other service, I don't remember what it was. Went back for a second time with an appointment. I got there at two and didn't leave til 6. They checked and replaced my breaks (front break pads and rotors), balanced and rotated my tires. It cost me around 630 all in all. I leave and they've installed my hubcaps incorrectly (all the valve stems were bent) and my tpms tells me to check my tires. I do and the pressure is fine so I reset the system, but the same notification comes up. I go back to them and explain and they did put my hubcaps on correctly but they just said that my tmps had "gone bad" even though there was no evidence of it being broken before I went there. considering that they installed even the hubcaps incorrectly, I doubt I'm far off by assuming that they broke the sensor in my tire. This incident occurred sometime in 2019, I think. I don't remember when exactly. I made a 11:30 AM appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. He asked me if I was going to wait on my vehicle. I told him that someone was picking me up for lunch and that I'd be back in about 90 minutes. He said that was fine. I went to Olive Garden nearby, ate lunch, and came back after about an hour and 15 minutes. My car was still in the same spot. After waiting an additional hour, the car was still there. I asked him for an update and he told me that he'd get right to it. At 2:30 PM, I asked him for my keys. I don't recall him apologizing or not and I'd doubt that he would have meant it anyway. What's the point of having an appointment if you're not going to honor it. People don't deserve to spend their time waiting on someone who is not showing any sense of urgency when it comes to doing their job. As pleasant as my experience was in Flowood, I refuse to give them a review at all because the Madison and Jackson locations are so horrible. I can only imagine that I got lucky that one time in Flowood and I don't wish to press my luck again or have to drive 20 minutes to get an oil change. *** UPDATE 8/11 *** I received a call from a different Brad (manager) and he was very apologetic for what happened. He asked me multiple times to come back and allow them an opportunity to make it up to me. I told them that I didn't have a desire to do it at this time, but I did truly appreciate him making a call back to me. If his employees start to reflect his attitude of getting things right then maybe this place will be okay after all. He mentioned that he has a new manager at the Jackson location which hopefully helps that spot as well. I decided to increase my rating by 1 star since he was very contrite. A personal touch in customer service goes a long way, so I applaud him for that. read more

Great place! Quick and easy. Would recommend to anyone!! Quality work quality goods quality time. I love it here.

I was charged $300 for them to replace a near perfect tire. They replaced the WRONG TIRE ON MY CAR. This was AFTER telling me that the bad tire *had* to be replaced and I could have a blow out any time. So, I told them, to please replace the drivers side rear tire. A week later, when I'm changing my breaks with my dad, we notice that they replaced the passenger side rear tire. This was after I had driven 700 miles to his house. Being livid, I go to an affiliated tire store in by my dad's house. They tell me I can return the tire they put on my car, and they will sell me 2 new tires for $250. So we do that. When I arrived in Jackson, I was greeted by Eric. Eric essentially makes fun of me for how I'm trying to explain this situation. He (with a lot of attitude) took the tire out of my trunk and said his manager would call me and straighten this out. He did call me and asked what happened and that I would be "taken care of". It's been a week and I've heard nothing. Not even a returned phone call. So not only am I out $300 for this tire, I don't even have the tire anymore because they took it from me. read more

Realized that my Mom's car had a slow leak, I Googled TIRE SHOP in Jackson......yeah, about three places came up. I saw this location was the closest to where I was, at the time, I the person on the phone said that NOW would be a good time since they weren't slammed. I drove right on over. After looking at the tire, they found a screw in the tire, removed it, patched it and filled the tire. The people behind the counter were extremely nice and cordial. They were all very professional in attire, talk and actions. Never felt like I was being gouged or anything. They were honest and professional and would highly recommend this place for tire service. I arrived to get a simple tire change. It was only moderately busy, but a 15-30 minute job turned into a 5.5 hour slough. My car got on the rack at 11:30, and the mechanic took a 1 hour lunch break as soon as he got it up. By the time my tires were changed, it was 2. I was told the alignment would take 5 minutes and I didn't get my car back till after 3:30. The only positive of my experience was decent prices and friendly front desk staff. Their mechanics left a LOT to be desired, though. I will not be coming back and recommend not coming here if you can help it. read more

Awful Customer Service. Waited 30-40 min in line to get my quote. No apologies for wait. Just excuses about being busy. I get that, but I would have been fine if he had just acknowleged my wait and frustration instead of making excuses. Had the tire I needed but they charge around $30 per tire on top of that for installation. Left and went to Riverbend tire down the street which had similar tire and price but no installation fee and great customer service. I was told by Erin pull up to the door and they will have somebody right out. Mind you it's already after 8 and no doors are open. I did as instructed and waited an additional 10 and no one comes to put air in the tire. I called in and explained to John I have been waiting no one has come out. John stated give me about 5 or 10 mins. My response was I have been waiting over 20 mins and when I came in Erin ( the he/she) person... stated that they will be right out and I still have to wait. I was not informed that had I been informed that I would have made my decision to come back, the Jackson location is very sorry, it's no reason why I should have not been able to get air in one tire, mind you I bought the tires from Mavis and they are Goodyear time high end brand. I was late for work and still no air the store was not open at 8, Mavis need to reconsider the customer service aspect. Service was horrible for no reason. Had the absolute WORST experience with Tire Engineers. Let me begin by saying we have been customers of Upton's over 18 years and we stuck with Tire Engineers when they bought Mike Upton out. We have five vehicles that we service with them and purchase tires for. Additionally, we purchase a lifetime tire rotation and balance on all of the tires that we have gotten from them. This past Friday, my son (who was off a few days from the US Army) arrived home and had two screws in both of his front tires. We were out of town about an hour away, so I called them first to make sure we could get in and out quickly. I was told that wouldn't be a problem that they weren't too busy and would write up our ticket with what we needed done - two tires repaired, a rotation and a balance. We arrived, told them our name and they said they'd get right on it. Maybe an hour tops. We walked over to Target, came back and hour and a half later, and his truck was still sitting in the exact spot where we left it - untouched. We asked them how much longer and he said maybe 30 minutes, they were about to take it back.We waited and finally, they got it and we walked back to Target. An hour later, we come back, still not ready, but almost there. They finally pull his truck out and the only thing they did was repair the tires! By this time, we have about had it. In order to rotate and balance, it would be another hour or so. Knowing we were upset, they were going to throw in a cheap set of windshield wipers and maybe an oil change. Nope nope nope. We ended up leaving which I am certain they were fine with - because since this company has changed hands, they certainly don't believe in helping the customer out. We will not purchase another tire or another oil changed from Tire Engineers, EVER. Go to 49 Tires in Richland. Definitely worth the drive for local ownership and service. read more

I've been a customer at this location for close to 5 years. I can't recall the number of staff, management, and likely ownership has changed over this time period. I've had countless oil changes and purchased numerous tires from here. On Saturday, I took my sons car in for a tire repair. I was aware that there was a high likelihood that it have to be replaced. The young lady that helped us went ahead and worked with me to select the tire IF I needed to purchase one since I would be leaving the car. I selected a tire that was not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. Inventory showed 14 in stock. She also went to do a visual on the tire and take some info. After some time, she called to let me know that the tired did need to be changed. In that call, I learned that she had fixed the wrong tire. I understood her explanation on the other tire and was ok with that repair. I was now going to purchase 2 tires. But I did ask her to be sure the tire that we originally came to fix was actually fixed. Upon arrival, that tire we came for still wasn't fixed. The lady was away at lunch. I spoke to the manager and he was no help! He made excuses for not providing the services I asked for (he blamed the lady being pregnant as the reason she had made so many errors in our service). After going around the world with him, I finally got the tire fixed but it costs be $50 more than I had been quoted earlier that day. I asked that the customer service survey be sent to my email before we completed my transaction. He acknowledged my request but refused to enter my email so that I may communicate my concerns with those higher up than him. When I questioned him on it he said that it was too late now and if I wanted a survey he had to sell me something else. If I could give place lower than 1 star, I certainly would! It is unprofessional. The manager is rude, and the prices are too high for the level of service they currently provide. I would encourage you to go ANYWHERE but this place. read more

Would not recommend. I randomly got a flat yesterday, so I called AAA, and he told me it was actually a dent in the inner rim of my tire. Conveniently this tire shop was a few feet away from where I got my flat, so I brought it in there. I dropped it off at 2:30ish Wednesday, and was told it would only be between $135-$175, which I wasn't excited about as a broke college student but thought was doable. Thursday, I call at 9 AM and tell them the only time I could come was 1:30, because I go to college 30 minutes away from where the shop was and my friend could only bring me at that time, and they told me that was great because it would be done between 12-2, which I was happy to hear. I get there at 2 PM and it was obvious it hadn't even been looked at. I was told it would take less than an hour then I would be out of there. This was frustrating because I was basically told over the phone that it would be done and ready to go when I picked it up, as I had a busy day ahead of me. To end the story, I did not leave until 4:30, and the total ended up being over $100 more than they said it would be the day before. I also overheard one employee say the replacement rim had just been sitting there since 10 AM ready to put on, so I'm not sure why I had to sit there for over two hours and almost be late to my test in my night class over a quick thing that could have been done literally six hours before, especially since my car had been there for over 24 hours. Everyone was so nice, especially Alonso who had a great attitude, so I hate to write a bad review, but this was a very frustrating experience. read more

I'm giving this three stars since after they completed the fix, with my diagnosis, I was able to get back on the road. My van broke down in the parking lot. I was stuck with a bad alternator & battery. They were able to repair and fix the issue with the van to get me back on the road a few hours after we dropped it off. They did an ok job. They told me they would clean off and put ant-corrosion on the terminals of the battery, but clearly didn't do so. The ABS light was on after the battery swap as well. They were unable to resolve the ABS issue since the tech that had the scan tool had left for the day and wouldn't be back until Wednesday in which I could come back. I had to go back in after having quite a large bill to get the additional things fixed again. The tech that cleaned the battery terminal clearly didn't look like he wanted to do it while he was washing his personal car. Do your research and get some other prices if you have the opportunity. You'll need to check-up on the work they completed after the fact as well to make sure they completed everything they told you. read more
