Good day Stopped after on my way from a long 12 hrs shift downstate after gettin a flat on highway Was able to get off and aaa truck came and changed me into my spare . I found this Mavis as I am a loyal Mavis customer in Middletown When i walked in one person was seated the place was quiet I explained that I have a flat in trunk and only Need it fixed and put back on . After taking my key it seemed all Time stopped No one commented that I would be in soon and no one came to get my car to start work for at least 20 minutes . Just silence .' Anyway finally My car was taken in and it seemed that the tech was working on my vehicle was working at a snails pace . Slowly walking Back and forth to get one item at a time Even saw him thru the glass small Talking with his colleagues Giving me , the customer that my service was not paramount to this business . Definitely not the feel I recieve at my regular Mavis in Middletown With no explanation why one tire repair was moving so slowly I saw thru the glass one by one each tire being taken off my car ..... I asked since I specifically only wanted one tire that was off the vehicle repaired and put back On. I was told that this was policy . I had never experienced this for one tire flat repair Since I was the only Customer in the place at early morning I expected to be in and out max 30 min After I asked to have all Tires put immediately back on and only fix my one flat then someone started to explain about this stores policy of a full inspection for a single flat fix ? ??!!!! Like I said I'm a regular Mavis customer who just bought two new tires and I'm that transaction my other two tires were not removed They looked of course at the tire itself and since they were obviously new there was no need to remove I would have appreciated that explanation beforehand so I would have kindly Declined and reiterated that I was in a hurry and only needed the one tire flat plugged ( literally a 10'min labor for the tire itself ) and maybe another 10'min to put it on front wheel. Finally then it seems the tech who started the job disappeared and Someone else Took Over to complete As usual I did give him a tip for his help but still felt that the store needs better communication to the customer at the start of the transaction so we know what to expect . SCAM!! Do not go here! I purchased a tire from this place five weeks ago and had a tear in the brand new tire. When I brought it to them, the assistant manager Tazjon Brinkley was there and informed me there was nothing they could do, even though clearly they gave me a defective tire. He called the store manager Erik and also said there's nothing they could do nor could they provide a discount to purchase a new tire. The customer service here is disgusting. After going to Mavis on 59 for the many years I know myself just came to realize that I will never Ever go back . I went twice before I decided to drop off my car as early as 6:30 am . I have the worker Alexis # as a personal friend (that's another case ) I was told no problem. 12/9. I drop off my car for an oil change which usually I pay $89-100 this time I look at my receipt it says $44.95. got a text from Alexis service manager Who have No respect No manners he text me saying I need a brake flush which is $110 but he will give me for $85 .He say I needed new wipers which is $28 but he could give me for $15 each. I went for an oil change and because I'm a woman I pay $215 unreal the way people take advantage of others. I question why do I have a charge for 3 wipers which I never use the back wipers so I didn't even remember I have a third wiper and it was never use so didn't need change, he give me an attitude saying he's not going to do the back and forth . How a $171.99 tire cost $316.16. I was blocks away from Mavis Tire in Nanuet NY on December 30, 2024 when my tire went flat, so no time to look at reviews. I was there for several hours and was told I needed a new tire and there was a balance fee of $24.99, understandable. When the car was done after waiting several hours, I asked how the bill could possibly have been so high. Dominic said he was too tired to explain and asked me to call the manager when I got home. When I called after realizing they charged me an additional $79.95 for (supposedly) four lug nuts. I expected them to realize they made a mistake, since lug nuts for this car cost $20 for an entire box of 20. The manager claimed he gave me back the supposed bad lug nuts (he did not) and when I questioned the amount, he said he could charge whatever he wanted. I did not authorize this charge, and said I was requesting the amount be refunded. I'm still waiting. I am very disappointed in the service that I had. I went to mavis for 4 tires, and of course got a call that other things needed to be done. I agreed to have a tire sensor fixed for $90, and it was never fixed. I brought it back on my day off with my two young kids, only for the tire pressure light to still be on. I called a third time to get it fixed, and when my husband brought it, they tried to hit him up for another $81 for another tire sensor that was supposedly low. For all the hassle, it should have been done for free. Also, everytime I got my car back, the inside smelled lile weed. I do not recommend this mavis. Very disappointing. read more

I arrive 8am early (with another customer ) the other customer just wants his tire changed and balanced and first customer to get a wheel balance and wheel alignment and it taken me 2 + hours just to get finished I had other customers arrive later then me and finish sooner then me get if their cars serviced this is the reason why Mavis as a company is doing terrible they have slow customer service and worsen every time I could of went to the dealership which is 10 mins farther away and would have been down within an hour this place is garbage with horrible managers always getting switched up and half urge of decency read more

I went here for two new front tires and an alignment. They did good with alignment & wheel balancing. However my two new tires weren't even inflated to spec. My tire light came on during my drive to work in the morning. Recommended psi is 35 and when I checked one tire was 28 the other 27, my two back tires were 30 psi. So in all their "mechanics" say they check everything when they dont & cant even inflate my new tires properly, even if they did the 32 psi average I would've been fine. And on top of it all I call the store and they have no remorse and I get handed off to a manager who wont tell me his name and also wont even apologize for his callous "mechanics". If you come to this service center to get your alignment done DONT DO IT!! I drive a 2015 Cadillac Escalade and back in January I had brought Two new tires and had an alignment done because for some odd reason my tires bald in the front. Mind you 18 months prior I just brought a set of 4 from Mavis. They put the new tires on the back and the back tires in the front and I Paid for an alignment of course. NOW it's April my driver side tired went bald . I'm thinking how is this possible. I purchased a new tired from Mavis and made an appt on a sunday to do an alignment and put the tire on .. I ALSO had an appt at the Cadillac dealership the very next day for a check up.. I get to my appointment on Monday and my surprise I was told I need an alignment done on the front .. I said that's VERY INTERESTING being that less than 24hrs ago I had one done. The representative says " where did you have it done at"? I said MAVIS.. she said, i don't know how to say this but we have had similar stories about them. I say hold on let me call them. I proceed to call and I tell the Mavis rep my situation. I explain i was just there yesterday. His response was" ITS UNDER Warranty , JUST BRING IT BACK IN AND WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT FOR FREE"... That blown my mind , Im thinking that's not the point. I wish I could give zero stars to this place. My wife and I took our car here and paid over four hundred dollars to have the tires replaced. This was in December of 2020. I just had an oil change on Friday and the mechanic said to me that my front tires are coming apart. I was surprised because since changing the tires I've only put 822 miles on the car. He showed me the tires and they are tearing at the seams as seen in the picture. Not even a thousand miles on the tires and they're ripping apart. I called Mavis and I explained to him the situation. I told him I have another car and barely drive this one since the pandemic. He said tires can come apart due to inactivity. That does not make sense to me. I had a car that wasn't driven for two years once and the tires may go flat but never have I seen them rip apart like this. I feel like I was given defective tires. Now of course I'm out of the warranty and stuck with bad tires. At this same place I once took my Toyota Highlander to replace a tire and they mangled the wheel lock tool I had as well. The only reason I go here is because it's literally a few blocks from my home but never again. This is just unacceptable. I used to be a mystery shopper for the former STS, and this location always did great, was impeccable, prompt, clean, and friendly. This is the first time I visited since Mavis took over, and I gotta stay the standards went down the toilet. It's such a shame because thE old STS was run so well. I brought the car in for an inspection and oil change and waited 3 hours until after the official closing time for everything to get done. I'm not sure why it took so long, but the manager did it say much after we checked in, except that the car was ready. Manager and employees shouted back at customers after a customer started getting loud at them. Very unprofessional and uncalled for In a place of business. Mechanics were complaining at closing time to the manager that they had to leave, and the manager had to tell them repeatedly "you still have 3 more cars to get done.", etc. Very unprofessional. it makes me wonder if these guys took any short cuts I doing my oil change so they could get out sooner. It was a hot day and the water cooler was completely empty, garbage pail overflowing. No magazines at all for customers to read, just about 4 or 5 children's books. Not even ay coffee! See pictures for proof. It's so obvious they don't give a crap about their customers. It's all about the money and selling services you might not need. Such a 360 from the way STS was run. I went home & later on I received a phone call from Dominic saying my tire couldn't be patched up, but instead needed a brand new tire. I tell him I'll have my brother call and speak to him since he takes care of my car stuff. My brother calls him but is on hold for quite a while. Trying to expedite the response I call them and Jose Lopez, the manager picks up and I explain I am looking to get in contact with the guy taking care of my services. He says Dominic us busy but he could help. Jose was not very pleasant to deal with and at this point I just wanted to pick up my car & get my kids to soccer. He was telling me the tire needed to be changed and I said I would do it elsewhere at our own mechanic. We were going back & forth about a simple thing. Long story short he hangs up on me. I head to Mavis to pick up my car with my cousin. Dominic is at the counter and calls us next, gets our paperwork snd key and tells us to follow him. He proceeds to show me my tire and rim right in front of where the cars are being worked on. He tells me condescendingly, "look inside your tire, you drove with a flat and did that to it," which I replied, "ok, can I get my keys." He then says, "you're going to have to pull up and put this in your car." (The tire and rim). I then reply, " ok, but I need my keys. Can you please give me my keys?" He is still holding on to the keys and he has the paperwork. He takes the paperwork out, proceeds to read it and still has my keys in the pouch and says in a RUDE tone, "yo, you have a lot of attitude bro." I reply," don't call me bro." I am not his bro, I am a customer getting a service. No need for slang. So this guy shouts ,"get your stuff and get out of here" he gives me my keys and as I am walking away, I tell my cousin "this is fucked up." He then goes and says, "SHUT UP YOU FCKN FAT BITCH" & gets extremely nasty and aggressive, throwing arms and hands up walking towards us trying to accomplish I don't know what! There is another employee there & we ask what this guys name is. He says he doesn't know. We then proceed inside & ask Jose for the guys full name & the number to corporate. He says it's Dominic Olivier, but wasn't sure. We Then walk to my car & get inside mortified About what just happened. Jose comes to the car & apologizes. He said he gave us the corporate number on the card, but that he is the one that ultimately handles the employees and basically a call to corporate would not solve a thing. We tell Him we will take our chances and also refresh his memory about him earlier hanging up the phone on me, which I didn't even bring up. He apologized and said he would speak to Dominic. An hour later, my brother calls Dominic to clarify the intensely horrible situation that had just occurred and of course this 6ft man says that I called him a stupid MFer. He gets extremely confrontational & tells my brother to "come see him" in a threatening manner. He then asks my brother his full name and my brother gives it to him like a MAN should. There should never be any shame with giving out your full name unless you did something wrong. Well after that phone call, I call Dominic so I can get his name directly and let him know that no one is buying his lie. I am a 5'2" adult woman, who can have a civilized conversation EVEN when someone else was insanely rude. He gets on the phone, doesn't even take accountability for his behavior and proceeds to say we're harassing him. Seriously? After you insulted a customer and for aggressive, & they are calling you directly, that's all you got? To hide behind a harassment claim? No one is harassing anyone. Using condescending and inappropriate tone is hostile harassment. I should have filed a police report. He hangs up and I call back and Jose picks up & he starts with the same harassment song. After Jose was extremely apologetic in person, he chooses to play macho tough guy "i-am"being harassed"on the phone. Pathetic response. I AM MORTIFIED that people like this manage and deal with the general public. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue. Ever walk into a store and feel like an a**? This is definitely one of those places. I scheduled an appointment to have service done on my car a while back and got there early. After I walked in, I saw there were 3 guys behind the desk in white and 1 in gray that worked there, I stood there to wait to be acknowledged since I didn't want to be rude. I stood there for about 2 minutes and realized that none of them were actually interested in greeting me or even acknowledging my existence despite seeing me enter. It's pretty simple, "Sir / Ma'am, we'll be with you in just a moment." So i had my girlfriend take her vehicle to this shop because i was out of town and typically i i do the work on the cars myself. So to start off i had an appointment at 8am and when she showed they had no idea what she was talking about and this is because i called twice to confirm the appointment and to check the tires had arrive. Then secondly the job that was done shouldn't take more than 3 hours well 7 hours later we get a call saying that we need more parts which we knew something was fishy just because the other mavis shop down the street had given us a list of parts we needed and to finish it off the car still hadn't been touched they tried to up-sale us with parts that made no sense in example rear brakes are 90% worn impossible unless you really neglect you're car so why lie to make sales so my girlfriend worked around the hours they had said (3hours) she missed a whole day of work and loss of pay for the day because of the incompetence of the techs at this location . They sold me a full set of tires, I have hardly driven on then and it has been less than a month yet somehow one of them has a golf ball sized bubble in it. I didn't bother getting a warranty because I'm moving over 1,000 miles away in a week and I didn't expect their recommended tire to show itself as a lemon in less than a month. The guy on the phone tells me that he would be glad to sell me a new one if I come in today. Not fix the problem, he made it very clear that he can't fix it and that I have to buy a new one. Usually I don't like going to Mavis but I needed my front passenger tire plugged and I don't have the time to do it myself . I have a piece of metal or a small nail in it and it has a slow leak. I filled my tire up Saturday after I noticed it was a bit low. It's not a huge leak but it needs to be plugged. I came in today, and I was the only customer around 4:30/5. I asked for just the tire to be plugged. I could sense they wanted me to buy a new tire because without even looking at it the guy says well it may not be fixable, most likely not. They bring my car in and they start checking my battery. I just asked for them to fix my tire. Didn't ask for a diagnostic test or anything. I was at the Honda dealer last Tuesday for an oil change and tire Rotation and everything was perfectly fines Of course, the manager Matthew comes to me and says they won't fix it. It's bald and I have to buy a new tire. Yet I was just the dealer last week, and tires doesn't go bald in less than a week. The dealership would have told me my tire was bald and I need a new tire and would have tried to sell it to me. The manager tried to argue with me that I need a new tire and they won't do anything to it to fix it. They refused to do anything unless I bought a tire. I asked them to put back the tire. They put back the tire but because they messed with my battery cables as they they could not start my car. The manager had to play around with the cables and secure them to get it started. Now my radio and time clock needs a code from the dealership to reset it in order for it to be used. Do NOT come here they will try and rip you off! Especially if you're a woman. They think because you're a woman you know nothing about cars. Well little do they know I've worked in a dealership and I know a great deal about cars. this place is the most unprofessional place of business. my boyfriend is a tow truck driver and had to tow a car too this location at 830 at night. the employee who was there that night at the shop stood in front of my boyfriends tow truck preventing him to leave because the customer didn't want to pay the money. the employee stood in front of his truck almost touching it while the customer who didn't want to pay was hanging on the driver side window of the truck preventing us to leave the parking lot. the police were called and that's when they moved out of the way. this morning when my boyfriend called the store to inform the store manager what happened she didn't want to hear anything and took their side of the story stating " these two people are telling me one story and your telling me a different story". she took their side of the story which was all false and did nothing about the situation basically she was saying there wasn't an issue with what they did. cooperate was called and a complaint was filed against the store manager and the employee who restricted us from leaving because the customer didn't have the money to pay. on top of that this customer just got his car done by this same place and that's why his wheel fell off. do not bring your car here for ANY type of work. you don't want to deal with these UNPROFESSIONAL people who don't care if their employees scare or hurt you. as a female being in the car at 830 at night witnessing that i was scared for my life with two "men" surrounding the truck. the fact the manager is ok with what happened and took their side makes me sick and she shouldn't even be called or be a manager. she doesn't deserve her title or job. that shows the type of character she is and the type of place and employees they have working there. take your car somewhere else. at least you'll be safe there. read more

I came in first thing in the morning on Saturday and it took two hours to change all four tires and flush my power steering fluid. In addition to getting my tires changed, I needed to get an inspection. I was told they didn't have a licensed inspector anymore, which was noted nowhere on the website or on site. After reading all the negative reviews from previous customers I admittedly became nervous and was hoping my experience wouldn't be terrible - thankfully it wasn't and so far so good with my tires. The gentleman at the front desk, John, was very pleasant. The waiting room needs some serious TLC and was a bit chilly, but there's a TV and a couple of magazines for your entertainment. read more

I destroyed my rim and wheel on the right front wheel and was driving too long on a donut. I couldn't try to get my rental car back to Newark, the only place I could return it and have it repaired by the company. So, I called around and most places said they would have to order the rim and it might be a day or two. I needed the car. So, another shop suggested Mavis. This place said they would try to fix the rim, and if not, they could get the part the same morning. I arrived at 8:30AM, about when they opened, and was one of only a few customers. They went at it immediately. They banged on the rim a while and determined it was not fixable. This is when the long wait happened, because the part had to be delivered from the dealership. They went back to it immediately when the part arrived, despite a number of customers showing up in the meantime. So, I got out about 12:30PM. They had me go to Autozone and buy some hubcabs. I returned and they put them on promptly. The waiting area isn't much. A TV. No coffee. No internet. Even though nice people went through, I'm glad to be out of there. The price seemed rather high with everything required to fix that wheel. About $400. Overall, it seems like I would have had fast, good service, if they had had the rim in stock. read more
