Great place super convenient, friendly, professional, quick and honest. A friend recommended me this place. I brought my car and got great service. I've been to other shops in the area, but never been that happy after my experience. read more

Terrible service. Women in the front is arrogant and rude. There's a reason why there are a thousand cars parked out front. They don't prioritize anything. Waited five hours for one tire to be mounted and was told to keep waiting for the others. "It'll be done when we finish". Don't waste your time. read more

5 Star service! TLDR: Honest, straightforward, trustworthy and swift. All the things you want in a auto shop. The backstory: I had some tire trouble a few years ago and they got me up and running quickly. Fast forward to this year - I needed an NYS inspection/oil change and had errands to run in the area, so I headed over to Orangeburg Auto. Valentine and Maria had me on my way quickly and for a good price. Met another lady in the waiting room who had also driven in from the city just for Valentine and Maria. Will see them again in a year! (Hopefully, not sooner!) read more

I have been bring my cars to Valentine for over 15 years. He got my last car to 11 years old and over 200,000 miles. I just got a new car last December, and even though the dealer offered several free services, I brought it to Valentine because I don't want anyone else touching this car read more

Mije has been my mechanic for 25 years. He's honest, reliable and capable! I've had everything from brakes to transmission and engine rebuilds done and I'm always satisfied. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic go check out 303 auto in orangeburg read more

Scammers. They overcharge and loosen parts. I took the car to another mechanic and they said they removed a screw on purpose making my oil leak. STAY AWAY read more

Only for inspection but failed because of faulty horn. Told to leave the car to be fixed and it would be done later that day. When I checked back later, they said they still didn't have the parts but it will be done later that day. Insisted to leave the car rather than I bring it back. Ended with car staying in their shop for 4 days costing just below $800 including the inspection fee. Labor cost just below $400 even though I didn't ask for the extra service of change oil and changing all the filters. Disregarding that extra service I think labor of $400 was pretty steep. I think was charged that high because my car stayed there unnecessarily for 4 days. I will never come back!!! read more

I used them before for car inspection and had no issues. However, the last time I went for car inspection , it was brand new car and need the quick inspection within 10 days of registration and the technician who did the inspection put deep scratches on the paint by the door handle. Just very careless with the customer property. read more

What a wonderful experience! I drove in with a flattening tire well after regular business hours. In spite of the time, they made it a priority to repair the leak and get me safely on my way. They charged a very fair price for the work. Thanks! read more

Absolutely horrible and disrespectful. Quoted me a price then when my son showed up to pick up car tried to change price by hundreds of dollars. Unreliable and no good in my option they will never see my business again or anyone i know., read more

Had a engine issue around the area and ended up here, they took my money to replace the engine and when I picked it up my car was returned in worst conditions, also they messed up my backup camera. When I called them they denied touching my camera and refuse to give me my money back. This place cannot be trusted. I do not recommend this mecanic. read more

Want for an inspection took me right away. Was done quick on my lunch break. Perfect place to go.

Went in for an inspection. Left with a damaged A pillar. Careless use of a scraping tool left numerous deep scratches on the plastic trim. This business has no regard for people's personal property. If they're this grossly negligent doing a simple inspection, I definitely wouldn't trust them with any actual mechanical repairs. Never coming back here again. read more

Owned by a wonderful couple Valentin and Maria. They are always fair and honest. Their work is timely also. They truly are gold standard. I recommend them without reservation and always bring my vehicles there. read more

I have been going to this place for years. I never have had a reason complain. They are honest mechanics that don't upsell you. You will not be disappointed. And it's a family business so I like supporting a local Rockland business that is not part of a massive chain. read more

Fantastic staff. My boyfriend and I got a "low tire pressure" signal on our dashboard while on a long car trip. We stopped over at Orangeburg General Auto and one of the mechanics came out and helped us measure the air pressure of our tires and filled them back up. It was a really nice thing to do because as new car owners we needed a helping hand. I would recommend this establishment based on their willingness to help out in a time of need. They are super friendly and customer service oriented, so please check this place out! read more

Orangeburg Auto - Auto Repair Near Me - Orangeburg, New York

Had some car troubles while passing through the area for a wedding and the team here was so kind, fixed my car problems in less than 12 hours, and notified me when my car was all set within a few hours of dropping it off. A true saving grace with us being from out of town!! They made me feel so much more at ease about having car trouble away from home. read more

Honestly very unhappy with the experience. My girlfriends family recommended this place because they've been going there for years. Well my first impression was that they're very overpriced. That having in mind that I was recommended so "they were taking care of me" Very unprofessional. First they say it would be ready on a Monday morning. I call the Monday morning and they say they'll call me later in the day. I call around 6pm and they said it'd be ready Tuesday at 11am. I call Tuesday at 11am and they say it won't be ready till 2 or 3pm. I wait till 3pm and call again. They say they need another 30 mins. I get there 30 mins after and it's still not ready. I waited another 30 mins sitting there until I finally got my car back. Of all the times they said they'd call me. I never got one call from them, just excuses! Never going back there. I thought I was treating with serious people that care about their customers. But clearly they've made me and my girlfriend waste 2 whole days desperate waiting for a call. Without being able to do anything those two days hoping they'd call and have the car ready. read more

Went in for inspection. Whole point of the thing was to make sure the car is safe. Kept my car overnight to fix the headlights and blinkers. Got it back with a passed inspection, except the blinkers don't function anymore and the internal dash lights now are so dim that they are not visible. Took the car home in worse condition than I brought it in, pretty upset. Now have to go to ANOTHER place to get everything fixed. More money down the drain. read more

Headline: If you want a repair shop hat performs quality work, that you can trust to be straight with you, and treat you like a fellow human being. This is the place. Five years ago after years of feeling like I was overpaying for service at the dealers and getting poor service in other places, I went in search of a auto repair place that I could trust and afford. When I walked into General Auto and was greeted warmly my the woman behind the counter I had high hopes. I soon found out that General Auto is a family affair. Maria and her husband Valentine own and operate the place and they seem to treat their regulars as if they were their neighbors. Over the last few years Valentine and his men have kept my Subaru (170,000 miles+) and Prius (56,000) on the road with routine maintenance as well as more complex issues such as front and rear shock assembly, front axle, front and rear brakes, rear differential, and head gasket. Valentine always kept the parts for me to see and patiently explained the whys and why-nots to repairs. After an accident, he supervised the work of a body shop and took responsibility for what they did. More than once one of the men rode with me so I could point out the noise I was hearing. More than once they drove me home or picked me up when I couldn't get there. My only complaint is that they can get too busy to call when the work on the car is completed. A small thing in the long run. I have sent quite a few friends to General Auto and they all came away pleased with the results. If you go, tell them David Kane sent you. read more

I will never bring my car here again! I had work done on a company car here and loved the service. However when I brought my wife's car to get fixed for a battery problem it was by far the worst experience I've had with a mechanic. He kept the car for a couple weeks and didn't even fix the problem, on top of that he charged me $350. He recommended I get a new alternator which would run me another $500. I then took it to two other mechanics in NJ for a better quote and they both told me that the alternator was fine. I will never bring my car here again. This whole family is full of thieves. read more

Went in for a state inspection, wait time wasn't terrible, about 30 minutes. They were very adamant that I needed new wipers to pass the inspection. However, my wipers were replaced not even a month ago, still very new. Warning, if you're a woman, maybe go with someone who will prevent this from happening. The costs of the wiper blades nearly doubled the amount I had to pay. Would I go back, maybe if I had someone who they would deem knowledgeable enough not to get duped into getting unnecessary costs added. read more

These guys have saved my butt on multiple occasions and the service has been fantastic.

As someone who recently moved to New York, I was worried about finding a new auto repair shop. I don't know much about cars, but I know I can trust the staff here. When I had issues with my Prius, Jimmy offered me a price that was less than half of what the Toyota dealer quoted. If you're looking for an honest person who does quality work, go to Jimmy. read more

In a word: these are good people! Good work, reasonable price and, OMG -- so honest! I'm 65 years old and have seen a lot of auto shops, but these people blew me away last week. Here's the story: Been going to this family-owned shop for about four years for my car, and my two kids' cars. About a month ago, my daughter called me from where she goes to school to report the left rear brake had to be replaced. But wait, I said, I had that caliper and rotor done at Orangeburg General less than a year ago. She got the repair done and drove it home last week for Thanksgiving. I brought the receipts into the Orangeburg, showing the replacement rotor/caliper install cost me $130 (parts and labor). I expected a run around. Instead they refunded BOTH the parts and the labor cost! Even though the part was under warranty, they said because I didn't return the car to them and make the claim when the repair was done, they couldn't get reimbursed. I explained my daughter goes to school two hours away and it was unsafe to drive the car back here. They thought about it and gave me the FULL refund. This kind of honesty in an auto repair shop is just plain shocking. Highly recommended. THANKS MARIA! read more

Came here multiple times to fix my Toyota Corolla and they've done a first class job. They do everything for repairs and in my case it's been bumpers or fenders or even abs light replacement and windshield washer sensor to replace. read more

Very friendly and honest people. Came in before closing time and they still got my brake job done for me. Wonderful job done by the workers, definitely would do business again. read more

Called them to get a state inspection. They said to come over immediately as they thought they could fit me in. As soon as I arrived my car was in their garage being looked at. The whole process took less than 20 minutes which is an incredibly rare feat for anything in the automotive industry. However, I saw a guy walk in about 5 minutes after me also asking for a state inspection but they turned him away saying to come back tomorrow. I guess I got lucky. But overall I would recommend them. read more

These guys are awesome! My wife has been bringing her car here for almost a decade. They do fantastic work and you should forget about going anywhere else! read more

Came in for a simple state inspection. Was told the wait time would be 20-25 minutes, ended up waiting for more than an hour.. I understand that things can get busy but I didn't get an update or anything like that which I thought was ridiculous especially if it would be such a difference in wait time. I would have came back another time if this was the case had they told me the real wait time. read more

Valentine and his staff are very honest and always trying to work with you on how to fix things and with the price. very fair. Maria and kim are great to work with as well. very good place!!! read more

When I brought in my work pickup for a broken brake line, they told me it'd be 3 days and $800. I got it back seven weeks later and paid nearly $1700. To top it off, the owner had the nerve to complain to me about how much trouble it had been to fix. Never again! read more

It's hard to find a good mechanic and this place isn't it. I've been here a few times and whatever the wait time the woman at the counter tells you, just double it. This woman also is very arrogant and inconsiderate to her customers (unfortunately she's the boss' wife). My first experience with them was when I brought my car in for a quick oil change. After leaving, a few hours later the engine kept sputtering. I brought it to another mechanic who informed me that they had somehow disconnected a vacuum hose. This place is only good for small jobs, I wouldn't trust them for anything else. read more

I was not in the least impressed with the service I received,I left before we even had the chance to do business.

This place is the worst. I bring in my car to have alternator replaced. I bring my own alternator after manager said day before it was fine. He tells me my alternator is a defect , I let him test the alternator and it read 14.2 on the multimeter anyone that knows about cars know that reading means alternator is good. So he tells me he will charge the battery and test the battery. Long story short he tells me battery is good and he started to replace my new alternator without even letting me know. I told them to forget it, did not believe them. He definately wanted me to purchase alternator through him now. So I drive to auto part store and they test alternator and it passes they take my battery out charges it for 35 mins and it fails. They put in new battery and now car runs great. This place is not trustful and I can only imagine how many people they ripped off. Manager not very knowledgeable on cars. DO NOT GO HERE!!! And car was brought in at 8:00am and in the morning they couldn't figure why car was not starting after putting in my new alternator. Something so simple they had my car till 5:00 pm. read more

If you want to be ripped off, then this is the place to go! They charge for replacing parts when they are only fixed. As a woman who understands nothing about cars, I feel so taken advantage of. My husband was working long work hours, and I had to drag myself and the kids to the shop, thinking I was getting something done....and they just let my car sit in their lot for over 4 days. I walked my daughter to school and back each day, and they never even bothered to look at the car! Then I got a call to pick it up, and the lady told me over the phone the part that was replaced, and the amount to pay. When I went, it was working worse than it was when I took it to them (really loud vibrating). I told the man "What part was replaced?" and he said "We didn't change any parts". What?!! So I told her how could she rip me off like that?!! She then agreed to keep the car and fix it, but just dropped it in my driveway later that night, and drove off speeding like a maniac! So weird. Long story short...any other mechanic beats this place! I've never had a problem before, and feel like a fool for not realizing they were repeatedly robbing me for repairs which were never made. read more
