Mark was extremely helpful over the phone and made time to take a look at my car the same day. I was afraid it would be a larger repair (catalytic converter) but he called back within 2 hours to let me know it was the spark plugs and coils. He gave me an estimate and his recommendation along with a cheaper option, in case I couldn't afford the more expensive repair. Work was done within 24 hours with great attention to detail. Mark, Tom, and the entire team were friendly, professional, and honest. In the interests of cost, I have driven pre-owned cars most of my life so I'm no stranger to the inside of an auto shop. He explains the repairs to me, not that I understand but still...., and patiently answers my ignorant questions about my car concerns. When I'm in a pinch, he'll squeeze me in so I try not to take advantage of this, giving him two weeks notice for repairs if they're not urgently needed. We had an in person verbal agreement, he told me in person that an AC service would cost $100 and when I had my son drop off my car for me, he charged my son $225. He up-charged my son because he's a teenager and looked like a perfect victim. This inconsistency between the initial quote and the final charge was very disappointing especially when I was referred to this shop by a friend who is also their customer. As a customer, I value transparency and accountability, and I believe businesses should honor their stated pricing and commitments. I called him directly and called him out on what he did. When my son picked up the car and paid for the invoice, he decided to take $25 off the invoice. What a nice guy? LoL! After 10 mins they told us it's a tire repair which would cost $450.00 to repair. Literally 5 mins later, they said they need to replace the whole brake system for $1,500.00. We bought the issue with the owner and told it's necessary as all 4 brakes in our 4 wheels are broken. Then, the same mechanic took a test drive, overheard our conversation, told the owner and us there's also a motor issues and need replacement which adds another $1,350.00. I'm not even sure if they even diagnosed the shrieking noise based on the 10 mins test drive and proposed insane fluctuating prices based on their diagnosis. We did not go with them in the end due to feeling like this is either a scam or very incompetent. Beware, might be a huge scam! Update: Went to another car shop and told us the issue was misaligned wheels to the car which end up costing $350.00 to fix. So yeah, not sure what they diagnosed.

To set the tone of this review, I have trust issues with Mechanics and dealerships (more than…read moremost). After my trusted mechanic closed shop I was roaming the area finding mechanics that I just didn't feel comfortable with. I drive past Norwood car care every day and on the way to work. One day a few years back I hit the annoying RR Crossing on Old Hook and my exhaust just gave out. I limped into their shop and was in and out quickly and for way less than I assumed after internet pricing the exhaust parts. Since then they have been my go to for oil changes, repairs, etc. My latest used car purchase needed tons of suspension work which they did very well and for a fair price. I recently dropped the car off for a major repair, I was out of town and approved the estimated cost to repair the worst case scenario before they even looked at the car. Once the car was apart they called me to let me know it was not as bad and gave me the actual estimate. They had the opportunity and my OK to bill me for much more, but didn't take advantage of me. I feel comfortable leaving my cars there, and happy to have found a new shop I can finally trust.

If work needs to be done under your hood or skirt, make sure you know the details. Cars are mostly done in a day: which is ahead of large auto sales bohemoths. Eastside is true genius. Most days, locals and friends amble on over to chat or drink a cup of coffee or go over sports stuff. It's a fun place - even if you need to wait 15 mins. They have a support staff of 1-2 secretaries who take your name and specs, and you're good to go.
