I called whilst making my way to their shop and they saw me immediately. They took care of my flat tire. I'm very grateful to the staff here who do their job so well and take care of us all. I felt very cared for and they really put me at ease. Thanks for plugging my tire and working so hard & as fast as you could. I highly recommend his business . read more

Called for tires and was told a certain price and continued to emphasize the phrase out the door which means what is my final price with EVERYTHING INCLUDED the employee continued to tell me yes that was the FINAL PRICE all said and done but when I got there I was told he shouldn't have done that and he did not include alignment so was charged Alot more then anticipated .This is not the only bad experience I have had with this place on another occasion was told I needed tires to pass state inspection but left went to another garage and passed no problem!!!! read more

Let me start off by saying we have been bringing all our cars here for years and always have had a great experience . Tyler and Co over at Mavis have always been extremely friendly knowledgeable and have serviced all our needs for our cars and have never tried to lie or overcharge us . I had to bring my car in this morning because I heard a rubbing metal noise between my rotor and right tire dropped it off an hour later I got a call saying there's no issue everything checks out great they even test drove it there was some gravel found that was possibly causing the sound that was rubbing against the rotor and the brake pad and I do drive over gravel roads every week . They have always been upfront honest and have not charged if there was no issue. Definitely would recommend them read more

Just go somewhere else... unscrupulous owner & sidekick in highway robbery( tom &dina) Overcharged, did work that didn't need to be done without consulting with customer. Gave a a fair price of 1200$ for rear brakes on a 1998 s-10... that they refused to accept responsibility for taking advantage of a new driver. Both very full of themselves and their ability's( laughable) Stick to changing tires... just don't expect the prices to be fair or the tires to hold air... shop local... let corporate greed sink their own ship. read more

Mavis Discount Tire - Customer service - Auto Repair Near Me - Matamoras, Pennsylvania

I went to get an ailment, I new I would have to get tires. This is not the problem. They wouldn't do the alignment because they told me I needed a tie rod and should change the bad one and replace the good one. I didn't get it done and went to another place they told me there was nothing wrong with the tie rods . They lied to my face. I have been a customer for awhile and overheard them doing this kind of thing to other's, bottom line they lost a customer. Be wary. read more

They have helped us through quite a few challenges automotive in nature probably odd to think a tire store would be able to be able to preform so many repairs but they get it done read more

My Reviews are normally very thorough and I try to always give a Deserved Review, Good or Bad. In this case a Great Review! In 2020 I had an Extremely Bad Experience with Mavis in Newburgh, NY on Route 300, swearing to myself I would never use Mavis again. I'm glad I rethought that when choosing to go to this Mavis at 115 Strand Street, Matamoras, PA. 5 Stars all the way! The day before an expected snow storm, I immediately started calling around, Mavis was my 5th Place (1st next time), that I called. 2 of 4 places could get me in, but they couldn't guarantee I be finished by 4:30pm, the time I would have to leave for work. So, I decided to check the Mavis Out in Matamoras area and Happy I did. I first went online, very easy to use. The earliest appointment was for 3pm. I checked it off. Then it led me to a tire section. Entered my license plate and Year Make & Model and MANY TIRE CHOICES Showed up. The cheapest were $133.99 each. I didn't like the look. The second cheapest were $158.99 each, I ordered 2 immediately and completed making the appointment. 245/60HR18 50,000 mile warranty. I showed up at 2:45pm and the Nice Lady at the Front Desk named (Deana/Dina) found my 3pm appointment. She first told me that they might not be able to get me in right at 3pm, a concern for me, but I told her as long as I'm out by 4:30pm I'll be good for work. I then seen my car get pulled in at 2:55pm (I heard employees talking that it was a skeleton crew working this day) , it seemed to be very busy, no employees just standing around, all very busy hard at work. The man in charge of my car, his name was Rosario (Rosie? Maybe). Deana asked if I wanted the Tire Balancing ($40.) I declined. I watched Rosario use state of the art technology to make sure the tires being put on were what they were suppose to be to avoid any unwanted surprises. After spending about 20 minutes on my 2 tires, I seen him start to put them on. I was done by 4pm and my total bill for the 2 tires with Installation and Taxes came to $410.04 (plus I gave a tip for the great service). I could've had a cheaper experience or more expensive by having a large choice of tires to choose from, I'm happy with the ones I chose. While there, there was coffee for customers they had from the Dunkin Donuts next door, I chose to go get my own coffee or I know I would drink up quite a bit. I talked to another lady there that was happy with their service as well. They also have a small waiting room with tv on and room for a few people to sit and wait. I noticed a small kid's area too if needed. Overall it was a Great Experience and even though I will never ever use the Mavis in Newburgh, I will go to this Mavis on the outskirts of Matamoras & Milford PA. 100% Great Job! I didn't want to put too much into this car as Mid January I will be looking for a newer car, but this snow storm caught me off guard and I needed to make sure I didn't miss work, this Mavis allowed me to do this. I would 100% recommend this place. Also, after years of recommending Monro on Dolson in Middletown, the service is different, I no longer recommend Monro. I'll drive the extra 30 to 45 minutes to come to this Mavis over the other 2 places I had experiences with. Also, anyone looking for a job. This Mavis seemed very busy with the proper equipment to do a job properly. Quality 5 Stars, Price 5 Stars, Friendliness 5 Stars, Proper Business Attitude 5 Stars, Choices 5 Stars, Overall I have Zero Bad things other than the quick scare they might not get me in by 3pm, but a few minutes later seeing my car being worked on put my mind to ease. Thank You!!! I leave my reviews on Google & Yelp read more

Dina was knowledgeable and professional. Her and her crew were able to get us in and out quickly for a great price. Cannot recommend enough!

The Mavis in Matamoras is Wonderful! The tire change on my 22 Ram Limited went perfectly, Dina is a gem and took care of me like family despite my odd and hard to get tire size, She tracked them down and had them in house in no time. Then when I had a schedule change she worked with my needs to get it done. I certainly recommend this shop! read more

Scheduled an appointment and was promptly met upon walking in. I was in a bit of a time crunch so I greatly appreciated that they were ready for my appointment. The manager did an excellent job also explaining future tire options to me. I explained how my car did in the snow this past year and walked me through my options. He knew that today I was focused on only 1 tire and didn't pressure me at all to purchase more than that. But I thought I likely needed snow tires for next winter but he explained what his recommendation would be. I'll certainly be back soon to upgrade all my tires. Also, he was super friendly and made the experience really enjoyable (which I certainly did not expect). Highly recommend this Mavis. Had a much better experience than other Mavis shops I've been to. read more

This place was awesome - I had to drive from PA to VT during the post-Christmas week, and couldn't find anywhere that could get me an oil change quickly - but I didn't want to drive 300 miles after my due change given my car (Highlander Hybrid) is 16 years old. I called Mavis and Steve said he could get me in if I was patient - not only were they able to see my car within 15 minutes, they went the extra mile when they discovered a cap to the oil tank was missing and got one locally and put it on all within a short wait. I am so grateful to Steve and his crew for helping me get back on the road and affordably, too. read more

1st time visiting Mavis Discount Tire, the customer service is exceptional. I had a slow leak in my tire which the issue was resolved within 30 minutes of my arrival. Mavis Discount Tire - Nail from tire puncture. - Auto Repair Near Me - Matamoras, Pennsylvania

I want to Mavis discount tire to get my car checked and Thomas take my car quickly I recommend come here. Thomas is a hard working guy.

Today I made an appointment for 10am for an oil change. When I arrived it was only me and another gentleman in the waiting room. After being checked in I sat down and the one woman with brown hair and an arm tattoo started going in the garage and yelling and cursing at the service techs, this went on for about 30 minutes. She was on the phone with "Tom" cursing and complaining about an employee. After that was over I sat for 2 1/2 hours. I understand it was Fathers Day but there was only me and the other gentleman sitting in the waiting room. After 2 1/2 hours my car was finally done. I get into my car to drive away and the service light was still on because it was not reset and there was no sticker for when I need to come back for my next oil change. After being frustrated instead of going back in I drove home. Once I got home I read the service receipt and it said that my drain plugs were replaced because they were destroyed and that I need a new oil pan. No one told me that at the shop. I am a loyal customer here. The gentleman that's bald and tall and the younger gentlemen with dark hair has been phenomenal with me in the past. That is the only reasoning I will be giving them one more chance. Both gentlemen were not present during my service today. read more

Never again.....had a 10am appointment for 4 tires. Dropped my car off @ 9:30am. Called @ 2:20pm to see if it was finished only to be told that it hasn't even gone in yet! Told them leave it I'll be there in a few minutes to get my car and take it somewhere else! Manager was rude, and unprofessional! Only got worse when I asked the gentleman that gave me my keys for the phone number for the district manager. She seriously rolled her eyes.... Stay far away from this place. Employees sitting around like they have nothing to do while cars are in the bays. Employees (1 specific) sitting inside the bay on a stack of tires smoking a cigarette........ If I could give this shit show less than 1 star I would! read more

I was there last week with a flat tire. The men got my tire fixed in no time very appreciated.

Very good service and very responsive but over 400.00 to fix a flat tire, change wiper blades, and change oil seemed a bit excessive. A little sticker shock when I got to check out. But I need a reliable car so I live on Ramen until Thursday read more

I wanted to say thank you to Steve and everyone at Mavis. I was getting new tires & it turned out i had much more work that needed to be done. Steve took the time to explain everything to me and was able to fix everything i needed at a fraction of what other places would have cost without their expertise. They had my car at 9:00 am and it was done by 3:00. I have trusted this specific place because in 2017 on my way back from Virginia Beach. I had car issues, they fixed my car without overcharging, gave excellent customer service, and made sure my car was safe to drive. In both experiences, they treated me as they would their own family. I trust their knowledge and experience. I am so appreciative that there are mechanics who truly care about their customers and have real knowledge and expertise. Finding a good mechanic is rare, but the people at Mavis in PA truly take pride in their work. Thank you, Mavis of Matormoras, PA. I'm moving to Cincinnati, and I feel much better knowing my car is safe. Thank you for getting it in and out the day before Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays! read more

TOO Pushy! Will only sell sets of four tires! Way too expensive! Save yourself the trip!

Complete waste of time. Avoid at all costs unless you like driving on your donut! I had road damage to one of my tires and had to replace it with the spare tire. Made an appointment online Thurs @ 12:30pm for Friday 1pm. Got a call Friday saying your tire isn't here, but we will call you back later....No call. I called again late afternoon - check with us in the morning. Called again first thing Sat morning. Tire will be here @ 10am or 1pm. I called @ 11am. No tire - we will call you back. No call. I called again @ 2pm. No tire. I asked if they had alternatives in that size in stock. Yes (why they didn't offer that in any of the other calls?). Come in tomorrow morning (Sunday) and the woman at the front desk will take care of you. I arrive before they open as I have a 300 mile journey to make Sunday. Her idea of "taking care of me" (with attitude) is that (because I don't have a reservation - because YOU didn't have my tire), is that I can wait from 9am until 4pm to get the tire replaced. Yeah - I'll just hang around for 7 hours. I always used Mavis (other locations) for tires. This was an absolute disaster and probably the worst customer service experience I've had anywhere in the last 10 years. I'll never go to a Mavis again. read more

The staff were wonderful we can't recommend this place more. We had a check engine light turn on during a road trip and they were so quick to service us and made the entire situation much less stressful. The lady who worked the desk Dina (I hope I'm stealing her name right) was so friendly and incredibly pleasant through the entire experience. read more

We had lots of shaking on our Hyundai after getting it back from the dealer for engine repair. Of course, it was a Sunday and needing to drive 2 hours that night back home. Danielle was wonderful with setting an emergency appointment, and making sure that we could have the car looked at. Turned out there was dry rot on two tires from the car being stationary at the dealer lot for a month, and a slipped radial belt that was wearing through a rear tire. In short, the car should not have been allowed on the road! 4 tires later and all good. Thanks, Mavis read more

Tom was incredible and my service man was fast! Love coming here. I would recommend this business to anyone

Tires ordered for a week expected 4 but only 2 arrived no call to tell us. Had to buy a more expensive tire. No consideration. Sloppy and dangerous job. All 4 Highly over inflated 71 lbs. on highway next day should have been 34-38 psi. This could have killed us...Max pressure on sidewall = 51 PSI Tech pissed or vicious not sure which. Sealant all over rims. DO NOT USE. Severe Over pressure beyond what is labeled on the tires' sidewall can cause explosive failure and bodily injury. read more

I brought in my mini cooper with little notice and needed brakes. Tom and Tyler helped me out and they were awesome. These guys are working around the clock and seriously deserve a raise. What worse customer service. I waited 10 mins to even be greeted. Then when i was checked in your manager mike i think his name was, he was wearing a white shirt was very impersonal. When I asked when the car would be ready from an oil change he said six hours!!!!! How could it be six hours when your website says car will be in 3. Never again will I go there again. I went to express lube in newton and was done within 30 mins. Don't go here!!!!!! Not worth your time!!! read more

Horrible customer service. Tire manufacturer was honoring my warranty and covering 70%, Mavis refused to work with them and said they would only cover 25%. Went to Jack Williams in Honesdale, got my tires with the full 70% refund, the tires were cheaper, they offer more complimentary services, and customer service was top notch. Worth the extra miles to go to Jack Williams! read more

Horrible!!! I made an appointment 3 days ago to have 4 tires installed. I arrived on time and have been waiting 4 hours, that's an hour per tire and I'm still not done!! We went in for a wheel alignment and it turned out that our car needed tire rods. Due to the expertise of Tyler and Tom they suggested we get that done, so that the alignment could be done correctly. Although we were not expecting the extra expense. Tyler advised us that it would be best and explained in detail how beneficial it was to have it done especially since winter is coming. Tyler worked on our car the very next day and did a phenomenal job and, Tom took care of us. He made sure the price was fair. The level of service and honesty we received exceeded our expectations!! We will happily recommend and bring our cars back!! read more

As a mavis customer for many years for tires, went for state inspection, manager told me I needed a new battery, I knew I didn't. He told me I had a bad cell. PURE BS, low and behold over 2 years later same battery is starting every time, even in sub freezing weather. DON'T BE HAD BY SCAMMING MANAGER. read more

Very good service. Had a tire problem on a Sunday morning and they were able to fix that day without needing a new tire.

I brought my 2013 BMW 335ix here to switch out my run flats to winter tires. I called ahead and came at the appointed time. They said it would take about 2 and a half hours. It ended up taking almost 4 hours. The bottom line is that this place will take a long time switching out your tires. My car took almost an hour and a half before they took it up off the parking lot. So be prepared to wait or just drop your car off and come back later when they give you a call. The service is fine and the staff should help you out with any problems you might have. Overall the price is average. Switching out 4 tires costed about $120 with tax included. Maybe you could find some cheaper places if you look. They'll get the job done. But it won't be quick read more
