After having a week from hell and having one of my tires slice open, I got another hole in my tire and was frustrated and fed up with what I needed to do so I gave Mavis a call and Cannon answer the phone. I gave him all the details of my car had AAA towed over there and by the time my workday was over. I had a brand new fixed tire at such a reasonable cost. They were super friendly, super helpful and got me a patch on my tire so that I could keep going forward and recommended getting a new one before a family vacation. Wow! I had a great experience here. I came in with a slow leak tire on a holiday weekend. I was from out of state, only passing through, and worried I would be stuck. I braced for a high pressure up-sell, which I read about in one review. But no! Staff are super nice and NO PRESSURE. In fact, while I was waiting I overheard exactly the opposite: management explaining to a customer why the customer didn't need any extra work done. They patched my tire instead of trying to sell me new ones. To top it off, they wished me a happy holiday and sent me off free of charge. A happy holiday indeed! I had a flat tire on a cold Saturday morning, my truck stuck by the roadside and a family member helped me get the tire off and bring to town. The other local shop in town (Van Heynigs) told me they were too busy for my emergency, but the folks at Dansville Mavis, got me right in, fixed the flat in about 10 minutes and had me on my way. Excellent fast friendly service. These guys take care of you and they are up front and honest. No hidden charges or jerking you around. The manager even came out and shot the shit with me while I was waiting for my new tires to be installed. Service like you get here is hard to find. I made an appt to have my car fixed after they messed the tires up first time, after them telling me that they would fix it for free. I was met by Ricky and told him that I had an appt to have my tires looked at. He immediately flipped out on me and was extremely rude. Yelling at me that he didn't have time for this, that he was working short and he couldn't and wouldn't fix my car. I showed him the email showing I had a confirmed appt and he still screamed at me telling he wouldn't fix my car. I asked what I was supposed to do as I was driving to NYC and needed them to balance the tires they did incorrectly to begin with as I was driving. He said he didn't know and anyway he didn't have the part for my car and didn't know what to tel me (extremely rudely) mind you, they had it when they wanted to charge me $100 for the sensor. I told him he was acting ridiculous and then he yelled at me and told me to get out of his shop before he called the cops on me. I asked to speak with a manager and he insisted that he was the manager. And as I walked out he screamed at me and told me I only want a free handout. This is not the first time he treated me this way. This is not the first time that he has been a complete jerk. He's hung up on my brother in law and sister when they called and wouldn't give us his managers number insisting it's private information. I regret ever doing business with this garage and will never go back as long as he works there!!!! Unfortunately it it only lets me give it one star and honestly this place doesn't even deserve that. read more

Mavis Discount Tire on Franklin St in Dansville, NY is my lifesaver. Open on Saturday and Sunday is great but the friendly, knowledgeable staff is the icing on the cake. if they find anything in need of repair while working on your vehicle they will bring you out, show you the problem,let you know if it should be fixed immediately or if it can wait and how much it will cost to do the repair. They are always a pleasure to do business with.I am a repeat customer and I plan on staying with them. read more
