I've come here for oil changes and tire rotations for years. Helped me out last minute when I blew a tire and needed two new ones. They took it in and we're able to get it done before they closed which was clutch. Def recommend! read more

I had scheduled service appointment at 3 pm to change 4 tires on my car. I was quoted a total price of $1100 inclusive of installation and balancing. When I arrived at the store, Kyle was at the front desk and talked me into doing Wheel alignment for another $200. I was told the work will be done in the anticipated time like around 4:30-4:40. My car was not taken inside the garage until 4 pm and Kyle returned my keys stating the job cannot be completed by 4:30. His attitude was rude and unfriendly from the very beginning which is not expected in a service industry. In the past I had nice and pleasant customer service experience at the same location. read more

Justice was fantastic. Coming in from Florida on my way to New Hampshire is stressful enough on top of dealing with a flat tire. I gave them a called to see if they had a replacement tire for me, which they did not. But offered to see if they could patch it up for me. Unfortunately, the tire was not able to be patched up and since they did not have a tire in stock that would fit perfectly on my van, They went above and beyond finding another alternative tire that fits just as perfect so I can get right back on the road. Super nice guys I'd totally go to them all the time if I lived here! read more

Had to pull off the highway for my car was acting not right. The team here really helped me get back on the road safely! Thank you!

With the new team, these men are knowledgeable. If you are the type of person that needs a simple explanation of what needs to be done, and how long it'll take and the price they can do that for you. No overly descriptive none sense that will have you leaving with less of an idea than what you had walking in. It's a stand up business, and I appreciate the effort and non bs work these guys have given me over the past few months. From wipers to car panel installation and everything in between they handle it. read more

Mavis Discount Tire - Auto Repair Near Me - Basking Ridge, New Jersey

The customer service was amazing. I took in a friends car and though the line was long to wait the guts were extremely helpful, kind and joked with me as they consistently updated me. They lent me their phone charger snd just made the experience better I love that they give military veterans a discount and even asked me questions about women in the military. I will bring my own car here for service read more

Great people and service! Gave me free tire rotation and discounts. Good explanation about the car status!

The worst customer service in a millennium. The salesman at the counter Mike hasn't got a clue. I went in for a flat. They told me I needed a new tire and it would be in by 12:30/1 PM, and they would call me. I decided to do both front tires. They kept the flat to supposedly get it started while I drove back to Mavis. I gave them a $50 deposit. 1 PM came and went. I called twice and they said it wasn't in yet. 2nd call at 2:15 PM. Spoke with Mike. He said he would call me back in one minute. Never did. It's 3PM. No call. I drove back to Mavis. Mike said he didn't know anything about my tire and had no memory of my call to him. It was literally 20 minutes before. He is the only Mike there. He then checked and said the tires were here. They weren't. The manager rolled the tires in the front door while I was waiting. Manager told Mike when he left to call me and let him know the tires were coming. Mike had no clue. Didn't call. In the end, they ordered the wrong tires. No white walls. The truck has whitewalls. I got my money back and left the dealership. Wasted a day. read more

5 stars is not enough, as soon as i walked inside because my car was making a weird sound on the highway, I explained to them and all showed me was love... they took care of me and when i say they took care i mean it... everyone in the store made me feel confortable! Thanks champs! read more

We are extremely grateful for the service team at this location. We have been here a couple times in the past with no issues, but today was a reflection of great customer service, helpfulness, and kindness. We are leaving for vacation today! I was up at 6am to get coffee and I blew my tire on my fully packed SUV. My husband and I had to unload the entire SUV, then put the spare on and load back up. We came in right when they opened and the manager was amazing. We needed new tires so we decided to replace all 4 tires and opened a card for a nice rebate. They were done with my SUV quickly and we were able to stay on schedule with leaving at 10:30am with 4 brand new tires and an alignment. I was so upset and everyone was so helpful and kind which made my day. Will definitely be back! read more

I was very happy with the phone service, Milo was very helpful. Very pleasant too. When I went to the location to get a new tire, Nigee was very kind and helpful. Even though they were closing soon, he helped me with my car. Great service and very kind. read more

Got a flat and called around for pricing. Based on price and proximity, i showed up to have their recommended tires installed. When i got there the sales representative said he would never put those tires on a car...too slippery, dont grip road. Well.. why was i quoted the tire in the first place? Well.. call center, yadda yadda. Of course his recommended tire was $15/tire more. I had to go and had no desire for a fight and risk them doing a bad job on my car over $30. And no time to go to my second choice. So.. buyer beware Edit 10/16/22 Took me a bit to get back on this. Tire Salesman called me to .. ask(?) About my review, but it felt more like a justification. Which, is sorta part of a B/S thing. "Hey, I'm just trying to save you money and put you in a better product..." Heres the thing., at the end of the day, they only upcharged me @$30. Not particularly painful, but still at its core, a bait and switch. You dropped a low price over the phone to get me in the door, then switched to a more expensive product to recommend when i got there. If the initial product is something you would "never" recommend, then why carry it at all? Sorry, still shady. You justifiably got called out read more

This place (Basking Ridge, NJ) is a nightmare. I ordered tires 4 days in advance but they never called or emailed saying they arrived. Then I drop off my car for the appointment and the receptionist (young black woman) takes the car key. So I called my wife to pick me up. After 5min, the receptionist calls me and tells me the technician called out (there is only 1 !) and I have to come back. So I took time off and they don't even have the courtesy to call me before to reschedule. The receptionist just tells me I have to come back. No apology of any kind ! And I have to tell my wife she came for nothing. Horrible customer service and place ! Avoid at all costs !!!! read more

Do yourself a favor and don't go here. The new management is unorganized and flaky. I went to get my oil changed here and they claimed I needed a bunch of other things fixed. Racked up a hefty bill here and ended up having even further issues with my car after getting it serviced. The communication is awful and the service is bad. read more

Great service at a good price. Staff is very welcoming and they explain what the chargers are! They can negotiate a price.

Be sure to take your valuables out of your vehicle before service.Someone did search my car for my personal belongings due to things moved around. This is just a warning to be careful with your stuff I had to learn the hard way. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. Read all the 1 star reviews as they are correct. Very disrespectful of your time. What should have been a 15-30 minute oil change turned into a 2.5 hour process. I had to leave my car with them. Called back to ask if it was done and they said 5 more minutes. When I showed up I waited for another hour! Nice guys but horrible customer service. They said the guy doing the oil change is new, but that is not an excuse. Not to mention the waiting area is filthy. STAY AWAY. If I could I would give them 0 stars. read more

So unprofessional, I placed an order for a tire online and made an appointment for it to be installed. Upon my arrival a very frazzled employee proceeded to tell me that there was no tire and if their had been I would have to leave it. The excuse given "can't make people come to work" well I guess you can't but man how is that my fault. Then he proceeds to tell me that they don't really pay attention to online orders and then to add insult to injury I get an email saying I missed my appointment. I wasn't going to post a negative review until I got that email. So Mavis Tire you are a poor excuse for a business. Maybe if you paid attention to the business you were losing you could afford to hire more people at a better wage and then I bet you they would show up for work What a complete failure for this place. DON'T GO HERE!!!! they don't appreciate anyones business read more

Basking Ridge store is a Complete Scammer! Thanks to the police for help. Ordered tires through Mavis Corporate call center with the offered price of $588 including installation, valves and balance, they also stated Mavis including tire rotation every 5000 miles. I paid upfront the $25 deposit. Dropped the car off at the store in the morning, they kept calling throughout the day trying to get me to do realignment, replace batteries, wipers and a bunch of repairs etc and I respectfully declined. Went to the store to pick up my car in the afternoon, the store jacked up the price and asked me to pay $787 stating installation, valves, balance and rotation are not included and I have to pay extra, and rotation has to be through extended warranty with additional cost. I made it clear that the call center confirmed all those items will be included in the original $588 and I will pay what has been agreed. They responded that the call center only sells tires and will never include installation/ balance/ volves. They then threatened me 'if you dont pay $787, we will not give you back the car!". I had to call the police, while the police talking to them, I got hold of their corporate office who confirmed what we agreed. The store changed the price right when the police came. Thanks to the police that they sneakily adjusted the price. However, they still never deducted my deposit. Make sure you do NOT go to this store. Not all Mavis store is bad but I will never go to the Basking Ridge one. I filed a complaint to their corporate office now. read more

I was told I could bring my car in and wait 30 minutes for a nail to be taken out of a tire. When I got there, the man behind the counter told me I would have to leave it until the next day. I told him that was not what the man said on the phone. He said ok and I waited an hour for them to come out and tell me they couldn't patch the tire. The manager acted like he did me a big favor looking at the car after letting me know he put me in ahead of two cars. He should have looked at it in the parking lot, which would have taken him 2 seconds to let let me know it wasn't possible to patch it. Very poor service and no one is on the same page. The manager was nasty and I will never be going back there again. Hopefully, this comment convinces others to go elsewhere. read more

Worst Experience ever I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!! I called for service on Saturday for Sunday I needed Breaks and Rotors changed I have a Chevy Silverado pick up and have drums in the back and had to change only the front ones , I show up on Sunday for my appointment was there at 9 am the Employee by name Wes informed me that the Mechanic is not there yet I told him I will wait and hours go by still no Mechanic and then 2 and half hours later Wes comes to me and telling me that I don't think the Mechanic will show up today he is not answering his phone hm very responsible any way I decided to leave my truck there since I couldn't drive my truck since my brakes were grinding so showing up at the front door on Monday and ready on my work gear thinking that stuff will get done fast since I all ready wasted 2 and half hours the day before and thinking shit will get serious . I walk in the store Manager Rishad welcomes me and asking me why am I there I told him the story what happened Sunday and he apologized and said he will take care of it , and I got happy that at least my truck will get done and at least I can get half day off work and not loose the whole day , I WAS WRONG!! It took them 7 and half hours yes from 8am till 3:30 pm including the 2and half hours from Sunday I wasted 10 hours for Front Breaks and Rotors , I got a quote for 400$ plus tax I ended up paying 634,75$ because the brake caliber bracket was rusted and had to replace so there was 4 employees working on my truck my truck is dirty there is hand and finger prints all over my tires look like they were dipped in oil but the most funny part is that after all this the store manager takes the truck for a test drive and he comes back and said to me I think they good!! I was like what do you mean you think thinking in my mind wtf i waited all this time and you are not sure if the breaks are good like wtf , I took my truck exhausted from waiting and still scared to drive it and driving slow thinking and waiting for something to happen because Mavis in Basking Ridge doesn't know if they fixed my breaks right . So people don't go to Mavis in Basking Ridge don't be fulled like I did this place has no idea what they doing and me definitely not going back they should be ashamed of themselves and this place shouldn't be in business or you can go and experience what I did and see for yourself. ..........And if they write back apologizing on your review and call them because they leave a number don't waste your time calling they won't do anything about it!! The Lady I spoke to she said there is nothing I can do about it so I told her why did you make me call they all the same . read more

Had a flat tire and walked into facility and they were able to help me right away. Very happy with the service

The manager is disrespectful, gives a quote and then charges a different price. Poor job quality. He thinks that people that make minimum wage or use coupons are garbage. The company should stop emailing coupons or offering discounts. My car came out with issues after picking it up. read more

I've used this location for my last 3 "issues". Son was leaving to drive 1000 miles to college and he was having battery problems. Dropped in late afternoon in the middle of winter. They took a look and fixed the issue. No charge. Thank you. The last 2 for an oil change and a couple new tires. They priced matched an online Wal-Mart price. Service was fast and good. Rick at the front desk was very nice and no pressure to up sell. I've been using Firestone in Berkeley Heights for the past several years. Mavis is much cheaper and can get you in and out faster. read more

They are very nice but a bit slow and don't tell you the accurate time that your car will be ready! That makes me a little crazy! 30 minutes is one thing but an hour or more is just inconsiderate. read more

Previously written but removed due to some content. Rewritten and edited because this place is just that bad. My fiancée and I live in town. His car's brakes had serious issues and we were recommended to go there since we needed immediate help. Upon entering the premises, I sat down while my fiancée went to speak to the person at the front. The man he spoke to at the front desk acted completely pompous and seemed more interested in passing him off to someone else than speaking with him. I nicer man (I believe his name was Bruno) went outside to check the car and noticed a leak in the brake line. Three men, including Bruno and Mr. Pompous, were talking to him about how bad the brakes actually were. When my fiancée asked for a ballpark figure, none of them wanted to give him any figure at all. I finally went up to them and asked for a "worst case scenario" price, to which they said would be "about $250, maybe $300". They said all of their lifts were being used and that we were welcome to wait, or leave the car overnight. We waited for a while, but decided eventually to leave it overnight. The next day upon speaking to one of the mechanics on the phone, they informed my fiancée it would be $980. They proceeded to list multiple issues with the car and that the labor would be the most expensive, as it would take five hours. My fiancée told him that it was more than the car was worth and that he wanted to know exactly what the issues were again so he can get a second opinion. With that, the mechanic told him that the car needs to be removed from the premises immediately. Both of us were at work, and my fiancée told him the earliest it could be removed was after 4pm. The mechanic replied that someone needed to move it "NOW". I called Mavis to tell them that it was ridiculous that the car had to be moved right away considering we were both at work. The person I spoke to stated that it was fine to be left there overnight until we could arrange the vehicle to be towed. He also stated that the labor would be $117 per hour. When I told him that the sign outside the shop stated the labor was around $85 per hour, he told me the prices have been updated since then. I arranged AAA to have the car towed to another company recommended to me by someone else. Sure, the ride was further, but the mechanic there received the car and fixed the issue for a total of $370. Three. Hundred. Seventy. Dollars..... from $980 at Mavis. In short, the car drives like a dream.... no thanks to Mavis. To sum it up, Mavis is full of crooks just waiting to hit you right in your pockets, and I will never go there again. read more

Been here a few times for oil change, battery change, and new struts on my car. Due to the location, I think this place actually marks up most of the services, oil changes by my house are typically less than $35 bucks The people and service is great, I think the business just likes to over charge the customers. Battery change standard around $100, got one done for another car is about the same. Oil change $35. Struts - slightly higher price but I got 4 new struts, one blew out after a few months of usage. Thank god there is a life time warranty so they gave me a replacement part for free and charged me less for the labor. I come to this location because its close to my job, it is only okay. Service is always friendly and nice, business itself is overpriced compared to neighboring towns. read more

Yesterday I made an appointment online with this shop. I confirmed it first thing this morning. I brought my car in when they opened for an oil change and a tire rotation. The man at the desk told me it would be done before noon. I just picked it up at 4:30 and they didn't touch it. They had 'a crazy day' and they did nothing on my car. It's a company car. So that means I use it for work. Not today. Lost a day because they had it all day. And did nothing. They were unapologetic and asked me when I wanted to come back!? What!? Well I called the Mavis HQ. I don't think that this is how they want to be represented as a franchise. Also let my company know to take them off the approved sites. Still need my car serviced. Where to next? read more

I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the service I've received from Mavis. I've been a regular customer for several years and they've always been very helpful. However, the experience I just had with them over the past few days has been exceptional. I needed my car worked on - at the very least, I needed my brakes and tires checked. I scheduled an appointment on Friday and decided to take my car to the Honda dealer (Clinton Honda) for additional service that day. That was a MAJOR mistake! The dealership started playing games and tried to charge me a LOT more. They (the dealership) also said I needed a new struts, as well as brakes, in addition to regular maintenance stuff. After I finally got the estimate from the dealership, I told them absolutely not and that I'd have Mavis do all of the work. As a result, my costs for brakes and struts were LESS THAN HALF of what the dealership tried to charge! The dealership just lost me as a customer and I'm going to take my car to Mavis for everything from now on. BTW, Brian the manager is great! Thanks! read more
