This review is long overdue. Last summer my son went to this Jiffy Lube location for an oil change. They told him both front and rear brake pads needed to be replaced immediately for safety. We were very concerned, so we called around to see if our trusted mechanic--or any local mechanic--could look at the car. No one could fit us in right away, and since Jiffy Lube is open on weekends, we scheduled an appointment there and had the front brakes replaced. Luckily, we only did the front. When our mechanic finally inspected the car, they confirmed the rear brakes were in good condition, so it's very likely the front were fine too. The replacement was unnecessary. This was fraud. They performed and charged for work that didn't need to be done. If you care about honesty and safety, avoid this location and always get a second opinion before agreeing to any repairs. Im very disappointed because we've given them business throughout the years for oil changes. read more

The good: Used to be my goto spot, they usually take you right away and are quick. The bad: 1) After a service, a bolt came off the oil tank leaked all the oil and my car shut down had to get towed. 2) after service they didn't properly bolt my plastic engine cover underneath car, ripped off on highway. 3) Used a brand new credit card (still had sticker on it), didn't want to use it but had no choice. Employee oddly walks away into back with my card for a little bit, next day get a call from the card company there were several purchases made on my card. Hire better people, pay them more if you have to. read more

I went in for an oil change. It's all I wanted. I thought about another service but it was too expensive. I was clear that I only wanted an oil change. i was told that the person inside the office will review possible services. I repeated again that I only wanted an oil change. It was annoying as I needed my oil change done in a "jiffy"...After being there about 10 minutes already, I was told it could be another 15 or so. This was longer than where I usually take it and as it turns out more expensive. I expressed my surprise that it would be longer and told the person I was in a bit of a rush at this point. The part that really motivated me to write this review though, beyond the sales pitch vibe and having to repeat several times that I only wanted an oil change was the person driving my car out of the service area aggressively accelerated! When I said something, the cashier looked annoyed and said that's not how cars are driven out of there as if he didn't believe me. I suggested he look at the cameras...on my way out I said something to the guy I said I was in a rush to about how inappropriate that was for the person to drive out so aggressively with my car (he was standing and saw it) ...His response? "Well you said you were in a hurry"...very passive aggressive and very unprofessional. read more

Had a horrible experience !! I went to get a basic oil change and their only concern was constantly trying to upsell me. On top of that, very overpriced and the only reason I tried Jiffy Lube instead of my usual mechanic was because of timing. Days later, I drove on a highway for the first time and immediately heard scraping sounds and smelled burning and was broken down on the side of a major highway. Turns out, the oil change was done improperly and my oil filter leaked out all the oil and the shield fell out which was the scraping. When I complained to the store manager, I was met with unprofessionalism and hostility. When I tried going higher to the district manger- same experience. The man called me ridiculous, accused me of lying, and refused to refund the service. NEVER GOING BACK!!! read more

Fast service! Was in and out in 30 minutes. Taking a star off because there was a little upselling, which is to be expected with a franchise. I did appreciate how there were no scare tactics and once I declined the "recommended" services they respected that. I also didn't care for how they pulled both my filters out without advising me they would be checking them. Again, it was part of the upswell but maybe ask "How's your filters?" before yanking the cabin and engine filters out. Despite those two minor things, I found the staff to be friendly and professional. The garage was clean and safe. The waiting area was clean. Much nicer experience than going to a dealer or trying to get into a local garage who never seem to have time to do small routine jobs for people. Will be back next time I need service. read more

Just needed a quick check before driving back to Virginia due to several warning lights day before that had gone off and oil a bit low. The friendly technicians checked all the fluids and topped a few off. In and out in less than 15 minutes. I hate to admit this, but I am in my late 20's and still depend on my father for car maintenance. He has a friend who services cars, so even now as an adult when I need anything done from serious work to an oil change, I bring my car to my dad and he takes and handles it all for me and I just pay the bill... it is quite the service! Now as an adult living on my own (YAY - adulting) finding the time to go to my parents to bring them my car and then borrow theirs to go pick up mine has become a headache. For a simple oil change, I decided to take matters into my own hands and visit the Jiffy Lube literally across the street from my work. I visited the Morris Plains Jiffy Lube at 8:15 in the morning and was serviced right away. The technicians were super friendly and educated me on everything getting done. Mike and Steve (the manager) were amazing - they took the time to explain everything to me and didn't laugh at my lack of knowledge over my car. The oil changed took about 20 minutes. The facility was clean and not crowded - I am definitely a new customer! I am really happy and proud of myself for "growing up" and handling this on my own - it was about time and now I am in full control. read more

This is my first time here but I'll definitely be back. I showed up around 8:50am on a Friday and was back home writing this by 9:45am. Never in my life have I had a full diagnosis, oil change, brake light and headlight change in significantly under an hour! (Even the 8-min oil change place I used to go to would take 25 minutes!) The gentleman that helped me at the desk was patient as I fumbled in my email looking for the coupon I just found and was kind enough to give me an even better one when we realized I wouldn't find it! I wouldn't expect 4 people to work on my car every time I'm there, but if the service today is any indication of how great future service will be, then I'm sold. (And this review is being written as someone who previously swore off all Jiffy Lubes because of a terrible experience I had about 10 years at a different location. They've converted me!) read more

I only come here for intermediate oil changes, but I have found them to indeed be jiffy. No issue the first time. The second time, I went to work, and had a flat tire in the evening. They fought me a bit on it, but they went back and refilled it and it was fine. (Something about a valve being stuck open.) The last time, I noticed the price keeps creeping up. Even with a 15% off coupon it set me back $40 for the oil change. They even said they didn't need to rotate my tires. So while I can say that the service is good and honest here, I'm not sure it's as good a value as it once was. I know they do more complex work as well, but I haven't needed to use them for it yet. Their quality is at least average, their prices aren't that terrible. And the key is, they are trustworthy. That earns an extra star in my book. read more

Car needed an oil change asap, and this shop was a mile from the office, and since I'm a satisfied customer of Jiffy Lube in Bridgewater, it was a no-brainer kinda. Got the oil change efficiently. I had asked them to check my exhaust because it was loud and there was an obvious leak. Sure enough they found holes in the flex pipe, and gave me an estimate for $530 for parts and labor. I took the car to Midas on an off day, and got the same job for $208. Midas just moved to the top of my list. Thanks for finding and confirming the issue in my exhaust system, Jiffy Lube. I told my husband the car needed an oil change. We usually take it to Midas (always been super satisfied with the one we go to), but when he got there they were busy. He took it to the Jiffy Lube down the road instead and paid a ridiculous amount of money. Oh, well. No biggie. We just won't go there again. Then a little while later, the oil light turned on on the dashboard. He took it to Midas and they said that the wrong oil filter had been used. He called Jiffy Lube to complain and ask for at least a portion of the money back. The phone was passed around and he was told that WE did something to it and that it wasn't their fault. Are you kidding me? Why would we spend more money on the wrong filter, go through the trouble of installing it, and then spend even more money taking it somewhere else? Save your money and aggravation. My advice is to go somewhere else or do it yourself. read more

Jiffy Lube in Morris Plains is the best there is for car fluid maintenance. I have used them for a few years now and they always achieve a quality service. I like how they go over everything with you and explain things to you. I can tell that they are doing that in the best interest of my cars lifespan and that they are not giving me a sales pitch for more services. Sometimes i say do it, other times i say dont do it and and other times i say next time i will do that. That is how i can tell they are looking out for the safety, performance and life of my vehicle because they are always great with all those answers. I highly recommend these guys.
