This location is easier to get to from the neighborhood than from the freeway. Its a little smaller, so don't try to bring an RV or a travel trailer. Pulling in and out with a regular vehilce isn't a problem though. The store is clean and the location is well lit. read more

This Maverik is one of their smallest stations. It is difficult to enter & exit unless you're driving down Sharlands towards Robb Drive. The intersection of Ambassador & Sharlands is hazardous due to visability issues & heavy traffic flow. Although it's already showing it's age, the store and restrooms are clean. Expect convenience store prices. Fuel costs are usually 40+ cents a gallon higher than the three membership stores in our area. Their club discount card once gave you 4 cents a gallon discount on fuel & now it's 2 cents. On October 4, 2012, Flying J Management re-entered the convenience store market with its purchase of Maverik Inc. Maverik operates more than 370 locations in the western United States. They were stocking their products. So the store was a bit cluttered. I was a little disappointed in the soda dispensers. There were stickers on several the selection buttons indicating they were empty or not working. I had a sausage, egg and cheese bundle. It was very good. The employees were very nice and helpful. I find this to be a convenient stop and usually I have a decent to good experience, but I must say that there is one guy that works the front that can be extremely rude. Misheard him when I was paying with cash for something and gave him 7 dollars instead of 6. He acted irritated and like it was a big deal, I took a dollar back and was on my way. He was almost angry I have an extra dollar by mistake. It was an unnecessary interaction over giving him an extra dollar and it wasn't the first time something like this happened with him. Love all Mavericks I've been in. They are always clean. The bathrooms are always clean and I know if I ever need to use one in any store I don't have to wor about what I'm about to walk into. I love their chaos chips. They are the best. If you've never tried them they are a combination of all the chop flavors combined and are the best chips ever! The hot food is always delicious and some of the items are very unique to Maverik stores. Everything we have ever tried we have really enjoyed. The staff has alway (any Maverik we have gone to) ALWAYS been superb. I think they must screen their applicants and choose the most pleasant people they could possibly find. read more

Instant discount on gas, refills of soda are only 95 cents with the Nitro! 2. They have fresh donuts that are super yummy! 3. If you are in a pinch for lunch, they have you covered with hot meals. Personal favorites: biscuits and gravy in the morning, tornados, and the new Macaroni and Cheese is delish! 4. The employees at every Maverik have been pleasant or over the top nice! 5. March 19, 2024, 12:45 PM I entered the store, grabbed a cheddar wurst hotdog went to do the self check out and a black man behind the counter yelled at me, said do not use that until I clear it which I thought was very rude with his tone of voice. So I went behind the long line of all the people there and watched other people go up and use the same kiosk, so I don't know what his problem was with me, but this is not the level of service that I've come to expect from Maverick. Usually a pretty good experience here. But this morning a male cashier left the other cashier with a very long line as he opened his line to only help certain individuals. I migrated to his line and he helped his buddy then made me get back into the long line, where I lost my spot. He came back after I got back in line to help another one of his buddies then closed his line down again. This is very poor service. The other cashier was overwhelmed and a different customer noticed what was happening and agreed with how poor the service was this morning particularly. As a property manager, I would be very concerned if my customer service reps handled payments this way. read more

Ok I know it's a little odd to review a gas station, but I love this Maverik. The bathroom is really clean, the service is friendly, and they have lots of good treats on offer for road tripping. There's nothing totally out of the ordinary, but a clean friendly filling station is always welcome, especially for women traveling alone. Sooo. DO NOT use a credit card at those air machines at gas stations. Within 3 minutes they had my card in New York and were charging $100 at gas stations. I discovered this immediately since after filling my car tires up, I tried to get gas and I was declined. I called the bank and it was shown that yeah using that machine was the beginning of the charges. I went in the gas station (Maverick on Sharlands Ave) and told them and they basically they told me it's not their machine and to call the company. They do not care at all that their customers credit info are getting stolen. The company is Easy Air and I looked for a skimming machine and there isn't one. I imagine there isn't much recourse for their machines doing this. So FYI Also while we are on the subject, air should be free! read more

In general all the mavericks I have been to have been great deals especially with the rewards card. They have a ton of pumps and I have been fortunate enough to not have to wait in line. I think their convenient store is huge which is great for when you are traveling or want to grab anything. read more

There is a lot of pumps but during busy hours you often still have to wait for a pump. I signed up for the rewards card online and it saves you 3 cents per gallon and you accumulate points you can use for things in the store. The convenience store is bigger than at most gas stations. They have always had everything I needed when I go in. I do find that I often have to wait for someone to get to the counter to check me out. read more

I always have thought the staff At Maverik to be mediocre at best but at the end of the day it is a gas station. Ive always been struck by the rudeness of the employees at times learning they were in fact managers I had been dealing with. I don't use Yelp but I just had to over this location. For about a year now they have had one employee, Dawn, who was unlike any of the rest, the management included. I always assumed she was the manager as I saw her delegating respectfully and if there was ever time, we'd discussed her reasons for working there (because she seemed so overqualified). She is hands down the friendliest employee there. I hear her interact with guests and she has all their names memorized. She is like 3 emplyees in one with her ability to multi-task. Last week I learned it would be her last day. She mentioned after months of giving 100% sh would neve be able to be promoted whIve I can't believe when the caliber of all of the other employees pales in comparison. But what really got to me was to learn that she gave 4 weeks notice, 2 hours later her mother died and I told her to just rescind her notice. she was in no state to look for work, but when she asked to rescind because she has two young children at home snd is really struggling with the death of her mom, the holidays etc she was told despite her manager doing interviews and there being help wanted posters everywhere. I always thought maverik was a family company and I've been coming in ever since I moved to Somerset many years ago. I for one will NEVER be returning and I will share with my many friends what an unethical place Maverik is and ask them never to support your business. The girl with the red hair behind the counter, with a big smile, and consistent caring snd sincere words will be missed. She is frankly too good for that place! read more

this is a very clean Maverik. I travel from Utah to California every month and I always stop by at the Maverk gas stations if possible. Their bathrooms are clean, the area by the pumps are clean. The selection in the store is good and their gas is always a bit cheaper than large c-store brands. One thing I wish Maverik would do is to put some soap in the window washing fluid.. read more

I love Maverik. I live right down the road and wasn't too happy when it was being built. That all changed. They have everything! Gas is competitively priced and there are lots of pumps so you never have to wait. It's easy to get in and out of so if you have large vehicles or are towing/trailing that's convenient. There's a redbox I visit frequently and it's not one that's too picked over. They also have a Payphone. You laugh- but that came in handy when my husband lost his cell for a few weeks. Inside is great. It's like the mega store of convenience stops. The bathrooms are clean, big, and not gross at all. There is a cold beer room with an impressive selection. I don't eat gas station "prepared" food, but if I did- I'll probably eat Maverik's. Good selection and there's healthier options available. They sell bags of ice, making this the ideal place to stop and load up with whatever you need before heading out to the lake or the woods. They're mantra is "your adventure stop" and it's actually quite perfect. Never thought I'd like a gas station so much. read more

I really like their points card. Other than that everything is kind of mediocre. The pumps are full quite often and you have to sit and wait even though they have quite a few pumps. The customer service is usually pretty good. Every once in a while you get someone who hates their job, but other than that, they're pretty friendly. read more

A very cheap place to get gas and diesel. They have a discount card that links your debit account to their system and gives you a minimum of $0.06 discount per gallon or the lowest price in the area (if lower than $0.06 per gallon at the lowest competitors). Their inside store has an excellent selection too. It is not your typical gas station. More like a new truck stop along I-80. read more

The male swing shift cashier there wouldn't even help a stranded women get into her car after locking herself out accidentally and choose to be a jerk. 4 stars to the lovely attendant that was working this morning (Saturday 0815)! She was very attentive and considerate. She went out of her way to help my with my waters and found me a box. As for the guy working there (skinny with a mustache) he was inconsiderate and rude! The customer service is AWFUL! 1 person ringing up purchases while there are 5 other employees standing in front of irate customers chit chatting & slacking off. Been witness to this for 2 years now at least 3 days a week there will be over 13 people in line in the morning to purchase coffee while 4 employees just stand around ignoring customers. Always just one register open while one employee is working their tail off. As a quick stop convience store this place stinks! As a clean well lit convience store this place rocks! read more

My family stopped by this gas station. My husband and I had prejudice experiences by same cashier, not to level everyone there, she is a skinny white lady. My husband went first and he was followed by this lady to wherever he went since he was looking for his drink. I went after him after he came back( we got kids in the car) and I asked this cashier if how much is a bottle of soda. She repeated what I asked her as if she didn't hear me at first only to answer me with sarcasm on her voice "Oh I don't know" and scanned it for me to know the price. If you work in that place, that is so damn of you not to know the price of a soda when people buy that all the time. Told my husband the story, and that's when I found out his experience too. Worst customer service on planet earth. One checker working every morning while 3 other employees sit in plain sight of the line of customers out the door chatting or outside smoking. Between 6:30am & 8am it's not unusual for 12+ people to be standing in line for coffee. I live 2 minutes away & have seen this 5 days a week for 2 years. Pitiful. I emailed corporate & things improved for exactly 6 months. Now it's worse than ever. Huge employee turnover. They must pay nothing, the useless manager has been there longest...smoking outside every morning. Seems as though they don't drug test if you get to know the manager. I so desperately hoped this Mavericks would be an improvement to the Jackson's across the intersection. Not that Jackson's was bad it was just tough crossing the intersection & waiting at the light essentially twice to get coffee instead of no light to visit Maverick's It is not an improvement. In fact it is the business model that ALL other business owners should experience to know what a failure in customer service looks like.
