I'm driving me and my crew in the fully loaded Suburban from Salt lake City. We managed to just stop once for fuel in Elko and now the tank is almost empty again. This gas guzzler really drinks the gas, but I suppose driving over 80 mph almost all the way didn't help, hey the speed limit was 80mph out there for a lot of the way. We're staying at the hotel next door, so this is a good place to fuel up and maybe get some snacks for the room to have before dinner. They're lots of pumps here and they all are modern and take credit cards no prob. Gas today was $4.55 a gal for regular, not too bad compared to prices in California! Tanked up, this should get us back to Sacramento no prob. Some reviews complained about slow pumps, this wasn't the case for me. Just set it and let it fill. I could clean the windshield that way as he rest of the crew went inside to raid all the snacks and drinks. As for using the restrooms, I think it might be better just to wait till we get to the hotel next door. read more

We stopped in to fill up our tank before heading back to the Bay Area. First thing we noticed was every pump was full and people were going into the mini mart. When we finally were able to get gas we learned why-these pumps were uber slow filling up our tank. Hubby actually did end up going in to grab a snack. I stayed behind in case the tank filled before hubby was back. It was a tie/ hubby and the tank. But he did get a yummy brekie sandwich when he was inside. Based on other posts/ we will need to check out the coffee next time. Can't tell you the last time we bought coffee at a station- but I'm gonna trust the yelp family. This location consistently has issues with power. The Maverick website should notify people that there is no electricity to disperse fuel and not label as the place open for business camming people issues while pumping gas. Carson City is the most consistent location. I need to do something about adding a generator. read more

I'm not from the area, but after spending Thanksgiving weekend with my fiancé's family, we had to make the trek back to the SF Bay Area. Maverik is our favorite last-chance stop on our way back home. They had everything I needed. My phone mount broke, and I'm so glad they had a few to choose from. I also needed some dill pickles (J get car sick but for some reason these fix it. Don't judge me.) We also needed some good protein, and I'm so glad they had an ample selection of jerky, nuts, and even some bean dip that went well with the chips we already had. The staff was so sweet helping me checkout. The store is super clean, and it was a really positive trip. I'm so glad that we could fill up on gasoline and get our road trip items all in one stop right off the highway. read more

If I'm passing through Minden, this Maverik is a must stop for me. Don't sleep on Maveriks coffee or their hot kitchen items! It's one of my favorite coffee beans. They offer three different blends for hot or iced. My personal favorite is their house blend. It's a good thing Maveriks are popping up on every corner. While on the road, Maverik will be the only gas station I'll purchase food from. Employees are always friendly and restrooms are usually kept clean. I mostly visit this gas station in the mornings for gas or coffee and sometimes a burrito. They get slammed for gasoline customers. Quite often there are cars lined up behind the pumps waiting their turn. Most people don't realize it, but there are pumps on the other side of the building which are obviously for big rigs but they're often empty and any car can use them. I take my cars and motorcycles to those pumps when the front pumps are overwhelmed. The inside is kept pretty clean, as are the restrooms (the men's at least). Their auto-coffee machines are pretty cool (and extremely expensive to buy, but well worth it!). You pick your coffee and the machine grinds fresh beans and pours it. Very slick. The only small complaint I have is the cream dispenser. They have the self-service dispenser which I don't care for. I prefer the individual creamers, which they have but only have half-and-half and usually one flavored type. Their fresh food is superb. They have a kitchen that cranks our burritos and various other breakfast and lunch items all day long. Everything goes into a heated display case. So, you just pick what you want, and it's hot and fresh. As this Maverik's is extremely busy, the food gets purchased pretty quick so the kitchen is always at work refilling the display case with burritos or pizza slices or other items. They recently added bean and cheese burritos which is now my preferred burrito choice for grabbing something for the road. This is a great place for gas and food. It's very busy every time I go, but the lines move fast and there are always two registers open and two self-service kiosks for paying for your stuff if you want to avoid waiting in line. The staff is great. They are no-nonsense and will help you no matter what you need. Sometimes I take my dog inside with me and they treat him great. read more

There was about a 2 month period where Gayle and I were commuting from our new house in Genoa to our jobs in the Bay Area. We had cleared out the Pleasant Hill house to prepare it for sale, and were staying in Hotels and Airbnbs during the week. The drive on Highway 88 down the mountain then through the Delta was a bit longer, but a lot nicer to look at along the way. Maverick was our stop to fill up before heading back. The per gallon prices are way lower than those in the Bay Area, but according to my MIL, not the cheapest. However, the location is convenient, with lots of pump lanes, with a good selection of snacks inside, and clean rest rooms. The place can be popular and we've had some occasional strategic challenges getting to the pumps and watching our social distancing inside. read more

It's expensive to buy anything in this gas station. There's always a line and it's slow moving. People want to gas up, maybe grab a drink and bounce. Slow service, expensive food and drinks. Tire air machine has extremely slow pressure. I hate this gas station. read more

Why do I keep coming back? It's a fair question, and the answer is all about the cost. I've taken the time to set up a 'black' card account, and it works great. They take the money directly from my checking account and I get a minimum of six cents off per gallon. That may not seem like much, but they also price match the neighborhood, and so there are occasions when the price goes down 20 or 30 cents, thus always assuring me that I am paying the cheapest price around. It's well worth the effort, as they now consistently beat Costco. So, the super majority of my gas is purchased at Maverick. Why only four stars. I've deducted a star based on cleanliness. There are times when it's not maintained as neatly as it could be. I'll continue to buy my gas there, and, as a little teaser, when you do go inside they've got some very healthy options for you to whet your appetite with, but they've also got some serious temptation. The Maverik in Minden expanded. The expansion needed some work. It took 15 minutes to get the new pumps to work and pump gas. Most of the pumps had malfunction language on the screen. After I got the fuel, I had to go back inside to get a receipt. The clerk was rude, short and down right disrespectful. I had take. A picture of the pump screen to show her what it said. She said, "I know, it has been a problem all day." No thank you, no I'm sorry, nothing. A gentleman did come out to the pump and tried to help. He was respectful and apologetic. Then there is the issue of the pumps. If you drive in to get gas or diesel, you block a set of pumps. There is only room between the pumps for one vehicle. Normally there is room for two vehicle. That is the standard at other Maverik. My biggest concern was the rude woman inside the store. Some training is needed. read more

When traveling through the area and staying overnight at a hotel don't recommend this place. The gas prices are as competitive and as say Smiths. Also when I went around 6 pm the grill area was closed. There was hardly any "fresh" food as advertised on their website. Yes there is snacks and stuff to drink, including frosties. The one guy working the register said they run out of food at times and they can't predict when. Huh? At 7-11 there is never an issue with that. They are stocked with pizza, hot dogs etc all the time. If you need something fast just go to Sonic around the corner for food or better yet go to Smiths for gas and get food in the store. This place is ridiculous, people think it is acceptable to park their vehicles at the gas pumps causing congestion while they go inside to shop for snack. People move your cars to a parking spot before you go inside. Management make this place more efficient for customers. read more

First off , I love maverik stations . I have been to everyone in the Reno Tahoe area . The maverik in Gardnerville is not only the worst maverik but one of the worst businesses to ever come to Minden. At the beginning of forth of July weekend they said they couldn't break a $100.00 for change from a $58.00 per chase , when I asked if they where kidding , they said no and chill out , "are you kidding " again it was like a dream , this type of situations do not happen to me .
