When you wear plus size clothing, you get tired of the same places to buy clothes. I had just had…read morelunch at Peaches and my mother was treating me to an outfit for her upcoming birthday party. I've never been here even though there is one where I live. I love how they separate the stores in 2 sections according to size. Kind of gives you an incentive to go to the other side next trip out. They have a great sale rack that I found a gorgeous basic black skirt on. All the clothing is so classy, and pricy. But then I don't tend to buy clothes and hate to shop in general. So this place is actually good for that, because the selection isn't overwhelming, and they have the salesperson on hand to help you select what you're looking for. It's a beautiful upscale store, with great accessories too.

Not worth our time noting a lot of details. I purchased a cotton/linen dressy jacket for $65. The clerk did not fold it carefully as expected before tossing it in a bag. No thank you was uttered. Egads--Some merchandise was not organized by size. Racks were stuffed. Conclusion: After this visit, I will appreciate the Talbots Outlet Store on Wolf Road even more. The staff there is always professional and helpful. The outlet store is organized and maintained very well.

This is the Lane Bryant located inside the Crossgates Mall, which is a massive hulk of a mall in Albany. But it's not green, so how much of a hulk can it really be. Not our favourite mall, and not Barbie's fave Lane Bryant (she used to shop here a lot more and told me she's been to at least 50 of these!) by any stretch of the imagination, but still a good one, and we'll definitely be back here in a future. Word of warning though... They're expensive, much like most Lane Bryant stores, even for us. But they're well-stocked and very friendly.

The training is bare minimum and rushed. If you don't work there often, maybe 1 or 2 days a week-they feel you should know everything (although if you work weekends when they are busy) they don't have much time to show you. Management treats their clients with respect and professionalism. They treat their employees like they are children. They micro manage to no end. They are in your face seeing what you are doing your entire shift. They call you out in front of customers if you're doing something wrong or in the wrong area trying to assist with something. They are also a smile in your face and talk about you behind your back crew. Way too many managers telling people to do different things. They are not all on the same page. It's retail for crying out loud. You aren't giving Brain surgery. The amount of pressure thrown at you during your shift is ridiculous. It's not even worth the 70% discount. No one should be stressed out at a part time job or feeling like they are doing something wrong every single time they work. Train your staff correctly. Treat them like you treat your clients. Then maybe you won't have such a high turnover...and maybe you can keep an Assistant manager. Lastly, have some empathy for your staff who is expressing how you've made them feel..instead of laughing in their face and telling them, they are being "Ridiculous". Real Professional (NOT)! Customer service is not just given to clients, it should be given to your employees as well!

If so, have I got the place for you! While myself and the majority of my bridesmaids are located in Texas, several of my girls are out of state - including my Maid of Honor in NY. My maid of honor opted to buy her gown from Apropos in Albany for convenience. The gown was ordered as the same time as the rest of the bridesmaids' in August. However, come mid-October all of my bridesmaids EXCEPT the one from Apropos are delivered and my maid of honor's dress is nowhere to be found. After advising her to call and check on the dress, my maid of honor was given the run around. Calls were either not taken, messages not returned, and Apropos was all around impossible to get a hold of. Finally, I managed to get a hold of the shop - probably because they didn't have my number on file. I was advised by a woman that she would contact the purchaser (the owner) and call back. Yeah, no call back. My maid of honor got in touch and found out the dress wasn't due to ship until December 1. WHAT? In what world does a dress ordered in August for a December 18 wedding not ship until the 1st? I called right away and got in touch with the owner who proceeded to berate me and raise her voice to me. She insisted that I just didn't understand how bridesmaids dress ordering worked, that these weren't off the rack dresses - they were made to order. As if with 7 total bridesmaids and my own gown I had no idea that these weren't stock items. When I clarified that yes, I understood the dress needed to be made but that my other girls had ordered at the same time and all received their gowns from the local shop in Texas she became defensive. She insisted that because of my maid of honor's size the dress had to be further customized. Never mind that my bridesmaids are all shapes and sizes and a similarly sized bridesmaid had received her order. When I told her, given the negative reviews on Yelp, Google, and The Knot that I was not entirely trusting when she said 'It'll be here!' she told me that the other frantic brides and bridesmaids who left reviews were 'crazy'. I'm not kidding. I'm almost certain that my maid of honor's dress was not even ordered until she called to check on it. Don't go here. Your wedding should not have this amount of stress and no one deserves to be treated so rudely.
