Overall this was a very good experience and I would certainly visit again when in the area.

While this place has been here since 1962, the first time I came was in 1993. I love it here because it is a classic, old-school restaurant, between the decor, the waiters and the grill as you walk in. The service has gone downhill a bit over the last couple of years, but I find that if you connect with your waiter when you finally get him to your table, he will check on you more often. They have a great wine list as well. The steaks are some of the best I have had, and I love that they bring your steak on a steel plate over a charcoal fire- do not let them take the grill- I love putting the fat on there to render away and then ladle it over my steak- so much better than butter! The fries are to die for, as is the Morcilla- so good and creamy- if you like that! I am usually too full for dessert, but I recently had their ice cream- so good and creamy!

Extremely nice and attentive staff who recommended dishes, explained things and was patient with us. We had a half order of beef ribs, my strip and filet for the 4 of us. We could have done without the filet bc it was a lot of food. Also, the fillet we ordered medium and the other two medium rare. They tasted much better so I'd recommend the medium rare. We also shared chicken, beef and corn empanadas. They were delicious and flavorful, and the dough was light and flaky, not too heavy. We also shared a salad, which was the basic salad of arugula, Parmesan cheese and olive oil. They bring out bread, Chimichurri sauce, salsa and hot peppers. Had the small rutini wine which was great. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to try parilla in Buenos Aires, I would recommend this place

We were in Buenos Aires for a few days prior to our Antartica Trip and asked our concierge at the Sofitel Hotel where we could go for a true Buenas Aires Steak experience. Without any delay he said that we must try Las Lilas. A simple ride over and beautiful location at the site of their redone area along the riverside. Much like every other city is doing. Restaurants. apartments, shops and lots of young people enjoying themselves. We walked inside this beautiful Steakhouse and elected to sit outside where we could enjoy the beautiful view and atmosphere in lovely warm weather. Let me be frank.... Walking into a beautiful Michelin restaurant is pretty much the same around the world. You walk in with a smile and high expectations. Right here in the beginning I will say that the team and service was impeccable from the beginning. Flawless in my opinion. They came over in introduced themselves while bringing us some water, cheesy bread and taking our drink order Appetizers: Three styles of tomatoes. Selection of cheeses from their very complete collection. Main items: 16oz PIcahna steak (shared) Fried Potatoes (shared) Of course the wine was Malbec which paired so perfectly with all the amazing food. I am not going to go through each item other than saying everything was 'over the top' delicious. My friend said to me that once you've had Buenas Aires Beef you'll never forget the amazing flavor. Even through my wife likes her meat more on the well side, it retained the tenderness and unbelievable flavor. There is definitely a reason that a place like this become a Michelin Restaurant. Cabaña Las Lilas is flawless and judging from the look on the faces of the other diners around us.... They thought so too. Please see the pictures I added. Many people shared as the portions are very generous. KUDOS to the team at Cabaña Las Lilas

We started with a tortilla de papa y cebolla, a local dish which was definitely generous enough to share among four people. I ended up liking his choice better with a bit of fat made it extra flavorful and he happily finished my tenderloin piece, so it all worked out perfectly. We also shared a plate of grilled vegetables for good measure. The bread basket was excellent, especially with the accompanying sauces. Happily, it was just a block and half walk from our hotel. This was our third night and we were going to take advantage of the Argentina beef. The prior evening had also been at a steakhouse (There is another review for that one.) This place was amazing and we had relatively early reservations for BA. We showed up at 7 and by 8:30 the place was packed and people were going to the upstairs dinign area. This is a beautiful restaurant with an incredible aura about it. Easy to tell who the regulars were as they were called by first name. We tried to chnage up our appitizers from the first night. All great things. He did forget the bread which since we had just finished a walking tour, was a bummer. BUT, when I asked him about the bread when we asked for a To-go bad he realized he had forgotten and did not charge us the bread fee even after giving us some bread to-go. That was what brought it back to a 5. Mistakes happen, not a big deal, appreciated the remedy. - the food: ordered the tripe, they were good! I'm used to the Colombian and Ecuadorian versions and so for me, they were a little too plain. But if you added the lemon and the chimichurri and their house sauce they were better. La parrillada - it was a huge porción, but we felt it lacked flavor. It lacked salt, for our taste buds. Because I'm not sure if this is the typical Argentian style seasoning or our taste buds and overall it was good with the sauces, it warrants a 5. - the ambiance - a nice mom and pop shop, recommended by our walking tour. Casual and local spot. Prices fair.
