All vegan donuts, and all delicious! What more could you ask for? I was expecting cake donuts (because that is often what you find when looking for a vegan donut), but these surprised me by being apparently a yeasted type dough! They dunk them in the icing of your choice to order, and the donuts were so warm and fresh tasting that I'm guessing they have a donut fryer back there--how does all that fit in a little food stall thing? The donuts have a nice toothsome chew, a bit reminiscent of an old-fashioned donut with a fluffy yet denser batter, and old-fashioneds are my Dad's favorite donut, so if he was driving at the time, I know he'd have turned around to order more, LOL! I hope they spread over to Oahu so I can get them when I come visit my parents! But we will for sure be back next time we find ourselves on Maui, these are great!

Cute donut stand in a strip mall. Donuts were made to order and came out nice and hot! Nice touch to choose your own glaze and toppings. Got one with maple glaze and churro topping, vanilla glaze with Oreo topping, and strawberry glaze with Mac nuts. Never would have known these were vegan--really tasty! Will def be back!

Maui Ono Donuts is an all-vegan donut truck that parks in Kihei. These donuts are seriously phenomenal. Do not order coffee here though. Coffee is not their specialty. We pulled in one morning and were already lured by the smell of fresh donuts in the air. As I stared at the menu in all my indecisiveness, the workers must have sensed my desire to order everything on the menu and kindly offered the Favorite Five option. (They further enticed me by telling me that they had just made a fresh batch of them.) The Favorite Five took my decision paralysis away as they curated a box of their tried and true flavors -- maple + churro, chocolate + mac nut, strawberry + rainbow sprinkles, vanilla + oreo, and plain + churro seasoning. We happily took our box, grabbed some coffee down the road, and munched contentedly on the beach. Each donut was warm and crunchy on the outside but oh-so-fluffy on the inside. The texture is more like a cake donut rather than the giant airy ones you might find at other donut shops. Soooo good and would definitely go back for more.
The absolute best donuts I've ever had ! Coming from LA, we have a variety of donut shops. But this is hands down the most delicious donut I've ever tasted. Do yourself a favor and visit them when in Maui. Service was also super nice. It's a truck so it's a grab and go type of ambiance.

I told hubby this donut place was ranked #44 out of 100 donut places compiled by Yelp in America 2023. He immediately said let's get a donut. After all who doesn't love donuts. The donut shop is a cute trailer. We walked up to the window. The menu is posted on the trailer. $3.50 each minus add ons which averaged another $0.50. We went basic - maple, chocolate, and vanilla. The donuts are made to order. They were hot and crunchy. Similar to a typical old fashion but better. Extra crispy. We ate our donuts standing in the parking lot. We can see why Maui Ono donuts was highly ranked.
Maui Ono Donuts is the real deal -- a simple food truck with the owner working the window and turning out incredibly fresh donuts. Ours came straight from the fryer, glazed and topped while we watched, and we ate them warm on the spot. We tried the chocolate glaze with macadamia nuts and the strawberry glaze with sprinkles, and both were outstanding. He'll customize them any way you like, and the freshness really sets this place apart. No frills, just great donuts -- don't miss this stop on Maui. read more
I have never been to a custom build your own donut place before and I am forever changed! It's located in a food truck in a parking lot off the main road. There's only one type of donut but you get to choose your toppings. I went with strawberry icing and rainbow sprinkles. It's $4.25 a donut before tax and they are about the size of my palm. I only got one but I do recommend two if you're hungry. The service was quick and we got to enjoy the farmers market right next door afterwards. read more

We picked up vegan donuts here a couple different mornings of our vacation. We placed orders on their website and they were ready to pickup at their food truck trailer. The process was super quick and convenient and we liked taking them back to our timeshare. Donuts were always hot and made to order each time. We did the "Ono Dozen" 12 donut variety box and it was a good mix of different icing/toppings and everyone in our group was happy. Delicious donuts perfect for vegans and nonvegans. We especially loved the ones with macadamia nuts and sprinkles. read more
So I've come back to Ono donuts several times to make sure my review was accurate and I still standby my comment that these are the best donuts I've ever had, no offense to my mother and her donuts. The service is prompt and they don't make your donuts until after you order them. The employees are super friendly and usually I have to wait a few minutes to eat the donuts because they're so hot. Crispy on the outside soft and delicious on the inside and I go for just powdered sugar so that I can get the full flavor of the donut. These are not soft donuts or glazed raised style, but more cake donuts. If that's what you like you won't find them anywhere better. read more

Maui Ono Donuts is absolutely spectacular!! The donuts are super delicious, moist, and just very well-made/flavored. One of my favorite things though - they have GLUTEN FREE DONUTS! You have to order online in advance, so just be prepared for that. But - do it! It's worth it! I love the low-key nature of the truck/cart, it's literally like in a parking lot - you may have to look around for it, it's in the same area as a Starbucks. It's very unassuming, but be prepared to have your mind blown by these donuts! read more

Fantastic little donut trailer. Excellent donuts. If you want gf you will want to order the night before. He only cooks GF donuts in the morning before he starts on the regular donuts. He says that most days all gluten free are gone by 7:01 in the morning. He opens at 7:00. read more
Ono donuts! We ordered the favorite 5 for $16 (Maple with Churro, Chocolate with Mac Nut, Vanilla with Oreo, Strawberry with Rainbow Sprinkles, and a Plain Donut with Churro Seasoning). A tad pricey for donuts but worth it! They also have GF options! I thought we would have to wait a bit for them to deep fry it on the spot (like Holey Grail Donuts in Kauai), but I guess it was premade? As soon as we paid, they handed us the box. Delicious!! These are cake donuts, but much lighter than the typical cake donut. They are made as you wait, which makes them hot and a bit crispy when you get them. I ordered the maple topping, which was a perfect sweetness addition. Would definitely come back for more. read more
Friendly service. Excellent donuts! [Kihei Maui] I stopped by their little food truck at the flea market at the back parking lot of Kukui Mall in Kihei. We had just finished checking out the small area of vendors and about to leave but hold up, wait a minute... even though we had made reservation for lunch at a restaurant and I really didn't want to spoil my appetite I couldn't resist... yes, I bought a donut. I'm sure glad I did because shortly after my purchase there was a sign that was put up... they ran out of donuts! Whoa, wow! Customize your order by choosing a glaze and picking a topping (a'ddl $0.25 to $0.50). I got a Chocolate w/ Macadamia Nut sprinkles. Food: 5 stars So, I've only done takeout from here so I can't comment on the service/ambiance. What I can say is that they do a very ono donut... I like the get a variety pack and share with others. Everyone has been very happy and come back from seconds! Highly recommend checking them out (or getting them delivered - they're on DoorDash) to start your day off on a sweet note. read more
Hands down one of the best donuts I've had. I still think about these donuts to this day. They are made fresh so when you eat them fresh, they're AMAZING. It was a bit hard to find since I think I was looking for an actual shop in the plaza. It is actually a little shed/trailer at the back of the parking lot. I smelled the donuts when I came in the morning. Highly recommend the vanilla donut with mac nut. Perfectly crisp donut, soft chewy interior, contrasted by the generous crunchy mac nut topping... if this is not donut perfection, I don't know what is. They are definitely all Vegan but I am not sure how many are actually gluten-free. No Almonds or Cashews included. Hope this helps
