They do such a fabulous job. Recently I took my three dogs for grooming. One dog had a cancerous tumor on the dew claw. They were so kind, wonderful and gentle with her. When they were finished she looked great. My Pom looked like an overgrown Chia pet. When they were finished, she was so adorable. And then there was my third dog who I rescued from the streets of Trenton 6 years ago. My Nieces call her "The street Rat" She looked so beautiful when they were finished. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. Their salon is adorable and cozy. All I can say is "Try them, you won't go anywhere else"

Very Disappointed…read more Contrary to what the name suggests, Curry Corner is not an Indian restaurant, but that's not the reason for my disappointment. The confusing name with no apparent relation to what the business actually is, is a portending of what's to come. Yup, Curry Corner is a pet grooming salon (???!!!) Try as I might to frequent local, independent business (this one within walking distance of my home), I called to set up a "haircut" for my recently rescued Pomeranian. Simple enough, one would think. Apparently, the baffling variabilities of just how much it costs to get a little dog's hair cut equals the difficulty in stemming an out-of-control oil well two miles below the ocean's surface. While I understand retailers can be loathe to quote exact prices for a given service over the phone (understand, but don't agree) - the lady on the other end of the phone simply couldn't demystify the process or seemingly countless choices of grooming available, and had little interest in making any of the transaction easy. Sorry - I'll admit to never having cut an amimal's hair myself, but I simply refuse to believe that a slide rule or algebraic law goes into the pricing strategy of an effing dog's hair cut. I thanked her for her time; no effort was made on her part to make me n' Charlie a regular. Picked up the phone, called Petsmart, they were coutreous, expert, had the pricing and services ready to go (a full meal deal, nails, lube job, the whole lot came in at less money the Curry Corner crypically hinted at for a simple shave). Made an appointment -- picked Charlie up today- he looks awesome!! The young ladies at Petsmart were enthusatic, genuine and engaged as you could ever hope a specialty shop to be. Perhaps they forgot they work at a National chain. Perhaps they genuinely love animals and subsequently, their jobs. Sorry Curry Corner; I tried, you failed. No treat for you! Bad dog!!

TL;DR: Poor customer service, dismissive communication, and inconsistent standards. I'd rather…read morecommute back to Brooklyn--where veterans of color and their pets are actually valued--than deal with this again. --- I used Kayla's grooming services before for my two miniature golden doodles, and when I moved back to the area, I figured I'd return to a place I had previously trusted. After enough frustrating experiences at PetSmart, I decided I'd rather spend extra for consistency, quality care, and to support a fellow veteran-owned small business. Unfortunately, this experience was anything but that. When I called, the person who answered seemed dismissive from the start. I explained who I was and mentioned my one prior visit about a year and a half ago. She asked for my availability, and I told her I was flexible--whenever they had space. She seemed irritated that I didn't use their online portal, but with two dogs, it's often easier to coordinate schedules over the phone. I was upfront about my dogs being a bit fluffier than usual and possibly matted due to a hectic winter, a move, and being a college veteran student managing limited funds. I made it clear I was completely fine with a low cut. That's when the conversation took a turn. She immediately told me they would not be seen due to matting. On top of that, she claimed that during their last visit--over a year and a half ago--my dogs were "problematic." This was the first time I had ever heard that. When I picked them up back in 2024, I distinctly remember Kayla speaking positively about their behavior. If there were concerns, why weren't they communicated then? And more importantly, why ask for my availability at all if you had already decided not to service my dogs? The inconsistency and lack of transparency were frustrating. On top of that, the phone rang endlessly before being answered, and my first call was actually disconnected, forcing me to call back just to speak with someone. For a business that prides itself on quality service, the customer experience felt like an afterthought. I work hard for my money and for my dogs, and I choose to spend it at places that respect both. Choosing to bring your pet here feels like a gamble--you may get great grooming, but you may not get basic respect or clear communication. Lastly, during my first visit, I wasn't aware they offered a veterans discount. When I mentioned that I was a 14-year Army Special Operations veteran, there was no effort made to acknowledge or adjust the pricing. At the end of the day, I'd rather take my time and money back to Brooklyn, where I know veterans of color--and their pets--are treated with the respect and value they deserve.
