There were a lot of different varieties it took a bit to give everything the once over, but the ladies working inside were super nice and answered all my questions and even helped direct me to find two button-up Hawaiian shirts that were on sale. After making my purchase they were even nice enough to throw some candy and a puka shell necklace for free. A nice touch. All in all, this was one of the better souvenir shops I visited while in Maui.

Well, we just returned and an older lady looked at us and went back to watching her tv. She didn't say anything to us at all. She started talking and laughing on the phone, so we know she can talk. She paused to look at us again, then went back to her phone call. We walked out and decided to give our business elsewhere. I'm not sure yet if we will return. I have to think about where I spend my hard earned money and I prefer to spend it with people who value their customers with common decency. My daughter came here to get another acai bowl. I guess I came here to pay and carry everything. We shopped at Tutu pantry to find our locally made products. Atmosphere - Small local mall. Most businesses open from 9am to 9pm. See individual businesses for specific days and hours. Approximately 4 places to eat - Cafe O'Lei, Beach Street, Maui Thai Bistro, and Southshore Grindz Eatery. This past Saturday I went in to the Kihei shop and was the only customer, along with my husband who sat down to wait for me. We were not greeted or helped. The gal who worked there just kept putting clothes on the racks and acted as if I was invisible. I live in Wailuku and we drove special to Kihei to visit Mahina so I could get outfits for some special upcoming events. I had a bunch of things to try on and had to ask the sales gal to try things on. The only thing she said to me on my visit was, "You can pick any room." After trying on what I had, I was going to purchase a cute dress I liked. When I walked out of the dressing room I received no acknowledgment from the sales gal, not even a "how was it?" Just terrible service. I ended up putting everything back on the racks MYSELF and my husband and I walked out. I am a 53 year old professional woman and was planning on spending a lot of money that day in Mahina, a store I love. I felt so horrible. My husband was in shock at how I was treated. I will never go back there again.

The lady Jennifer was quite helpful when I saw a case of sterling silver jewelry on sale 1/2 price. I picked out this delicate sea turtle sterling silver bracelet and she even put it on for me. The quality of clothing is terrible, but I have no choice so I proceeded to shop. When I went to check out, they told me they would not accept my credit card because I did not have a picture ID. Not carrying my entire purse to the beach, of course I did not have it. It was not as much what they said, but how they said it. Demeaning and disrespectful. Telling me that all others find it necessary for their safety, and what was wrong with me. Laughing at me and raising their voices. It was both employees there. They might hate their job or hate tourists. But please don't take it out on us.
