    Driving up to the house

This place is AMAZING!! It's a very very cute tea house run by a sweet couple. You'd be please to know that a Maudie McBride did exist (the couple will give you a tour of the house and the grounds as well a brief history lesson). They only take advance reservations only! Please do not call the day of or the day before, they will not be able to accommodate you. If your party is under 20 people and you'd want to do a bridal or shower party they may be able to work with you. But you have to have at least 4 people. My best friend's husband had planned a surprise afternoon tea for her (among a list of many other surprises for the weekend). The owners hid our group in their office while they gave my best friend and her husband a tour of the house giving us plenty of time to get ourselves situated in our seats to surprise her! Boy was she surprise! The owners really did go out of their way to make us feel welcomed and went above and beyond with helping my BFF's husband execute his plan. It was a lovely afternoon! The food was delicious, the tea was divine and the owners had set up for us to have desserts in a separate room so that we could enjoy another room. We took TONS of photos around the house and on the property grounds. There's a little room that's separated from the house that has been converted into a little boutique (flowers were hung upside down for it to dry out) . My husband spent some time in there and his allergies kicked in and his eyes got all watery lol. So be careful if you are allergic to fragrant). I really really like this place! I wish there was something like this by me! Basically everything you see on their website is EXACTLY like that real life!! Looking forward to my next visit to MN! Cheers!

What is the price range? (yelp says "moderate" but that is too ambiguous). Thank you!

Not quite sure of the pricing as I went with a group but we paid $42 each for a group of 5. Hope that helps!

This is an absolutely delightful tea experience…read more When you open the door, you come into the display area showing the shop's tea wares - gaiwans, tea cups, tea sets, and tea pots including some lovely Yixing pottery. When you come a little further in, you line up at the counter to order. Staff will let you smell the teas if you're having trouble deciding. After you order, you pick a table. There are tables with a sturdy little kettle built in for folks drinking gongfu style, and a few without for folks who don't need that. It's a lovely, quiet space with a big fish tank. It's worth noting that they want to keep the space quiet and ask people not to bring laptops though it's fine to read quietly on a tablet. Onto the tea. The tea selection here is frankly fantastic. Everything is well-chosen, and I had to remind myself that there isn't going to be a bad choice. I chose a Taiwanese black tea for my first experience here, the sun moon lake, though I will be back to sample their matcha, which they mill in-house. The selection covers white through pu'er and everything in between. I drank gongfu style, so they gave me a little tiny gongfu tray, a gaiwan, and enough tiny cups for everyone at the table. For people who want to try gongfu style but haven't done it before, they are happy to show you. The only downside is that all of their snacks have gluten in them. I'm hoping that this will change going forward, getting GF mochi or even mochi donuts would be perfect. Overall, this is my new favorite spot in the city, and I only wish I'd discovered it sooner. I'm going to be returning to drink my way through the menu.

They highly recommend putting away phones, tablets, and laptops to just enjoy being in the moment. Each table comes with an inset heated kettle, that they preset for you to match whatever tea you order. They give you strict instructions on how to prepare your tea (for example: every consecutive steep, you add another 5 seconds to the steeping time). I love their matcha! I get all my matcha powder from this place because I know it's sustainably sourced and milled fresh. The owner also hosts matcha classes if you're interested in learning more about the history and current practices on matcha farming! Love this place and highly recommend checking it out!

I do like the fact that they will use black or green tea with any of their drinks. I'm not a green tea fan, so that's an important option for me. I got a black fruit tea with pineapple and passion fruit with strawberry popping bobas. The tea had a perfect blend of flavors and the boba was cooked just right. We also got a cookies and cream smoothie with tapioca. My son said it was the best one he's had! He also got a banh mi. He said it was good, but not great. The pork could have been more flavorful and it needed more cilantro. Overall, I recommend this place! Give them a try!

The aesthetic is not the typical cutsie boba shop vibe. It is elevated, sort of Tuscan garden with comfortable wicker furniture, gorgeous and ample seating, outlets along the wall and plants everywhere. I stumbled upon this place while praying and hoping for a quiet place to finish my workday. I could not have been more fortunate as the owner was taking a middday music break, allowing complete peace as I worked and sipped on my tea. Now I have absurdly high standards when it comes to see. The medium versus large is a mere $0.50~ difference so go for the large. I forgot to request light ice, but guess what!?!? The ice was light and the tea and boba heavy. The perfect proportion and bang for my buck. Okinawa bubble tea had chocolate-y notes and was excellent. Without ordering any cheese foam, my milk tea was rich and creamy. And did I mention they have a ginormous me-sized replica of my bubble tea!?!? It's just chef's kiss all around.

They carry an amazing variety of black, green, oolong,…read morewhite, puer, and herbal teas, truly the most I've ever encountered ...and all of these (to me) are special and delicious....my go-to, staple teas are Albert Square, Breakfast Assam, the Shincha green teas, and Iron Goddess of Mercy oolong. The blends are also amazing, such as Blueberry Fields or Green Mango (good chilled!) and Roasted Chestnut (try with spiced chai milk, wonderful on cold winter days). The in-house chai is the best chai I've ever tasted...you can buy the TeaSource spice packets to make your own at home (the mix is the store's own house-made blend...) The high-end black and oolong teas are also pretty amazing, and I'll order these once in a while. I especially love the Sleepy Hollow black tea (originally Jin Jun Mei) and super delicious Guyokuro Japanese green teas... The shop is conveniently located in St. Anthony's Shopping Center, right off of I-35W. It's a super fun and cozy place to visit (staff are always so friendly, helpful, and generous), although you can also order the teas online... Make sure to also check out their unique selection of cute teapots and cups!! I have several in different sizes and colors...another plus is that their prices are pretty great and reasonable for almost everything.... This is a must visit for tea lovers....you will definitely find a tea (most likely many!) that will become a favorite(s)!!

The lobby decorated festively, beautiful live piano music playing in the background. The table setting is nice. In the past, each course was brought out separately with the wait staff explaining what each course offered. We were given different options for tea. Today, only black current tea was offered. The first three courses came out together, served on a 3 tier tray. We had a menu in front of us and had to figure out what we were eating. Many sweet things, felt overwhelming to have it all there at once. Course three (bottom of the tray) were the savory sandwiches. We enjoyed one of those. I understand that doing it this way requires less wait staff, but it really diminshed what had been a very special experience. Shortly after receiving the three tiered serving tray, they brought out the fourth course, a cold scone. It was plopped on a plate in front of us. No clotted cream or jam but some kind of butter. The clotted cream was missed. We were looking forward to a warm scone with clotted cream. Today's choice, a fruit cake scone was cold, dry and without much taste with no clotted cream to help revive it. Our servers were pleasant. One came around to show us a Christmas ornament for purchase. That seemed odd. We both thought today's tea was fair, not what it had once been. We were disappointed.
