First off, whoever it was behind the counter was incredibly welcoming and friendly! It really set the tone for a good time. The overall vibe is really cozy, but I will say the random religious and conservative-leaning decor threw me off a bit. The food itself was pretty good. I got the oatcakes and my partner got a breakfast scramble lefse. The oat cakes were tasty but pretty doughy in the middle. I know that oats are more dense, but it seemed a little undercooked. The syrup was excellent; tasted like grade A natural stuff. The cardamom butter was disappointing, though. I love cardamom and wanted it to punch me in the face but there was barely any cardamom or cinnamon. Overall it's a nice spot to meet someone or a relaxing (early) breakfast before crowds roll in if you're in the area. I just probably wouldn't make a trip.

On the drink side you also have the option to order at a kiosk if you don't want any food. When we came on a Saturday at 11 it wasn't busy. We got a slice of the coffee creme brulee cake and a sea salt coffee (25% sugar). Coffee was actually a pretty big disappointment. Tasted very watery. The sea salt foam was good though. The cake is the typical Asian style with being lighter on taste and sugar. It was very moist and I could taste the coffee a bit but it wasn't that strong since I was able to eat it at night and go to bed soon after. Worth checking out if you want pastries as they are all pretty reasonably priced, especially compared to other stores around the twin cities.

I'll just be there for the pastries!

They serve Somali tea, coffee, and a variety of sweets and treats. Service was helpful at the counter, but not especially quick for food/drink service. They do crepes specifically, so we had to get one! It came rolled up which was delish, with cookie butter and Biscoff cookie topping. We got the Somali tea and coffee, and it was delish but quite sweet - I'll ask for less sugar next time. The star was the Nafaqo: hard boiled egg inside a seasoned potato patty - our first time trying it and so good! Hearty and filling.

Everything tasted pretty good, though on the pricier side. The service was friendly, and the inside of the bakery is clean and inviting. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10.
