I liked that it was clean, relatively stocked and had a separate side for the drinks than the baked goods. The selection was a little deceiving because it looked like a lot of variety but it turned out that there was just a repeat of items. Bought a few items to try but was excited to try the strawberry salted bread roll. Finally tried it, it was supposed to be filled with cream, it was not. Reminded me of eating a pretzel that didn't get toasted. There wasn't much service except to check out. A staff member was at the cake section but didn't offer any assistance.

Love this place! There are so many options for baked goods and milk tea. It feels very authentic, especially if you're looking for traditional Chinese pastries. The service is impressively fast, even though there's almost always a long line. The wait is never too bad, and the staff keeps things moving efficiently. There's also a shared seating area in the middle plaza where you can enjoy your food. The only downsides are that the cream rolls are very rich and quite sweet because they contain a lot of cream. Also, there isn't an option to order bubble tea with no ice or less ice. Other than that, this place is fantastic!

Stopped in early on a Tuesday hoping to beat the long lines, but this place was still packed, which definitely says something! Thankfully, there's a spacious parking lot, so finding parking wasn't an issue. We also walked through Asia Village while we were there. It was pretty busy, so we skipped the food this time, but I liked the cafeteria style setup and will definitely have to come back to try it. We ordered our drinks first. I got the sea salt caramel Vietnamese coffee, which was really good, although I wish I had added boba. My husband ordered the grapefruit green tea, and it was so refreshing that I honestly wanted to switch drinks with him! Of all the pastries we tried, my favorite was the chocolate mousse bun. It was incredibly soft, light, and not overly sweet. You can really tell everything is freshly baked. The garlic cheese bread was absolutely delicious. I would come back just for that alone. The spicy sausage bun was also a great choice with the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. Even though it was busy, the service was efficient. The bread line moved quickly, and we waited less than five minutes for our drinks. Best of all, everything we ordered came to under $20, making it an affordable spot to grab fresh pastries and drinks. If you're looking for delicious baked goods without spending a fortune, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Very excited to have my favorite Asian bakery chain finally arrive in Minnesota!! I first had baked goods and bubble tea from 85 Degrees Bakery when visiting family in Southern California and usually bring some home to Minnesota from my visits there since I can't find anything quite like it here. Since the new Asia Village is close to the office I work at, I have stopped by a couple of times this past week (while they are still in Soft Opening phase). The first time was after work and the selection of baked goods was pretty limited since it was the end of the day. There was a much bigger selection during my 2nd visit (grabbed lunch with a few coworkers in the food court before going to the bakery). I picked up a variety of buns to share with family and friends and everyone enjoyed them. The bubble tea was tasty with great boba. Looking forward to the Grand Opening of Asia Village when the bakery and other businesses will have longer hours and even more selection. Recommend checking out if you are looking for some delicious baked goods and bubble tea!

Wow, so easy to over indulge here. They hand you a tray and off you go! The line was super long at their soft opening week. They prefer you order your drinks from the screen before entering in, grabbing the tray and filling it all sorts of Taiwanese baked goodies! You pay at the end and then grab your drink. They will box or bag your items. This is inside the new Asia Village at the Northtown Mall. There is plenty of parking and a lot of seating. It's a nice vibe to walk around grab something to eat and do a bit of people watching Though it was crowded it felt ok with those high ceilings. Excited to try everything in the new mall!

Had to check out the Asia village in north town mall. Great location. Easier parking compared to the Asia mall in Eden prairie. Beautiful clean interior. We tried this bakery in LA and were excited to try the first Minnesota location. I have to say I like it better than tour Le jour and Paris baguette for my tastes. Don't get me wrong I still have my favorites at those other places but 85* has more options that I like. Yes the line was long but it moved quickly and the staff and service was great.

Well, they are now technically open as soft opening so their choice of products were somewhat limited. I went there today and they only have a few of their favorites or best sellers in California. They only have ham and cheese, strawberry cream cheese, guava pastry, big chocolate bread, mango tale, cranberry bread and a few sad brioche (which looks like they were not expanding properly and were brown instead of golden yellowish as usually seen in their California's stores). I know it is not perfect (at least now with the long lines and shortage of products), however, their prices were pretty much cheaper and better compared to what most local Twin Cities bakeries usually charges. Ham and Cheese bread is only $2 something... much less than $6 something from Cafe de Paris, that is one example. Since I drove quite far and I waited in line for a while, I brought home 2 boxes and it costs less than $60

A bit disappointed about the potato croquette. Not really a golden color but the main concern is the filling. Pretty much ate baked bread with some corn in it. I get that it's busy but don't cheap out on filling. Just make more

Some of the best fresh pastries in the cities! Although there was a constant line for this bakery it wasn't jammed-packed like some others may feel! I got a few baked buns like the Hokkaido Milk bun, Chocolate bun, and also a strawberry bread bun! They were all so soft and had the perfect amount of filling. One thing I'd like to mention as well is the pricing of the items, which were very affordable! Around $2-3 for most items is what I saw. The service was great and the cashier even gave us a menu to show the other items they usually have though some good yummy ones were already sold out. Definitely coming back another time!

Kari's Rating 9/10…read more Stumbled upon this place around brunch time on a Saturday and as expected, most of the pastries were sold out, meaning this place is really good and a lot of people do wait when this bakery opens. As we weren't sure what our lunch plans were, so we loaded up on 5 beautiful pastries, and got a variety, including their cinnamon roll, their ham and cheese croissant, an Ispahan croissant and an iced coffee topped off with a hot London fog. They were out of the butter almond croissant, so the worker kindly came over to our table and said I could pick something else. I ended up going with the cinnamon roll as I wanted to balance my savory ham and cheese croissant with something sweet. Wow, it is good! They add this extra sugarcoat glaze on the top that makes all the pastries shine, which I thought was an extra special touch that they made an effort to make the pastries extra beautiful. Because we ordered five pastries, it came in this really cute little white and black ribboned pastry box! Knowing they only have 18 pastries-and at 11 AM realizing they were out of most of them, no wonder they got voted best pastries in the Twin Cities! Since I am somewhat of a bakery connoisseur, I always judge their pastries off their ham and cheese croissant as it is one of my absolute favorites I get every chance I get. This bakery ham and cheese croissant had a good ratio of ham and cheese to the size the pastry. It was quite large and I realized I didn't even have room for the cinnamon roll. However, I've had flakier lighter crispy croissants at my hometown bakery, and I would have liked it to be a tad lighter between layers and less bread doughy as you can see in the pictures. Nonetheless, I ate the entire thing! Proving it was still delicious. This is definitely a place you should stop by if you're ever in the area, but make sure you get here early if you want all the variety! Bonus, as we were coming out, the bakers brought out this 3ft custard dough ball caramel glue structure out for a customers wedding cake. The worker helped put it in the car and as far as we know, it made it to its destination. See pics for an incredible wedding dough ball surprise. I can only imagine how long it took to make this structure as well as how expensive it must be considering this bakery only has two locations and everything was absolutely delicious.

I went on a weekday and there was no line or options sold out. What caught my eye was the lobster tail, and I am so glad to have bought one!   Lobster Tail: -An extremely delicious and crisp pastry covered with powdered sugar and overflowing with a smooth vanilla flavored French cream. -I was pleasantly surprised at the flavors! The French cream was light and delectable. Looking at the pastry, you can see the individual layers showcasing the talent of the pastry chef. Importantly, the pastry was not soggy or chewy indicating its freshness.   Of note, a single lobster tail cost $6.25 as of writing this review. Although on the pricier end, the quality of the pastry justifies the cost. Overall, I am happy to have stopped by Carlo's Bakery. Their quality of lobster tail was incredible. Located within the Mall of America, you can get a box to go. While I won't be ordering it on a daily basis, this is the perfect treat for friends and family.
