But here we are--asking why my tub squeaks when stepped in, and why the tile outside of it also squeaks. These noises serve as a daily reminder of a job poorly done and a contractor's lack of skill and care. I have wrestled with the work Arcadii has done to my home and now see the full toll his lack of skill, professionalism, and care has taken. Lack of Care and Communication One of the most disappointing aspects of this project was how it was handled. After completely gutting my bathroom, Arcadii only then informed me of what he would NOT do--things I had requested from the beginning. These included: * Installing a shut-off valve in the basement * Properly venting the fan to the outside * Wrapping the tile around the bathroom, instead of just the tub area Had I known this earlier, I simply would have replaced the toilet myself and saved myself the trouble. Adding insult to injury, during this process I was dealing with herniated disks and sciatica, yet I was left to lift and dispose of a five-gallon bucket of water collecting from the tub pipe--for days. Carelessness and Poor Workmanship The carelessness didn't stop there. Here are just a few more examples of how this project was mishandled: * Toilet Installation: The new toilet ran constantly, requiring adjustment--which I did myself. Even more shockingly, the toilet was sealed with spray foam. When I checked from downstairs, I could see yellow foam protruding around the toilet and onto the floor. * Vent Cover: The vent cover was not replaced, nor was the prior one put back in place. Instead, I was left with an uncovered hole in my wall. * Vanity: The sink was not properly set on its base. The drain was sealed with caulk, which is not how it is designed to function. To make matters worse, the vanity drawer was rendered nearly useless when a large section of the back panel was sawed out unnecessarily. This exposed long, bent nails, which I had to request be repaired for safety reasons--especially for children using the drawer. * Baseboard and Caulk: The baseboard was left unpainted, and spaces requiring caulk were not fully sealed. Lack of Professionalism Beyond the poor workmanship, the lack of professionalism was evident. * He left a new replacement toilet in the parkway of my house and initially claimed he would dispose of it--only to laugh about it having water inside. * My Home Depot credit card, which he had in his possession to buy needed materials. Final Thought: A Pig with Lipstick You more than likely will end up with a project you would label as a pig with lipstick--an illusion of a finished job masking glaring problems. The care for your home, and the wealth you intended to build within it, will be diminished. If you value integrity, quality workmanship, and someone who does what is right--even when no one is watching--this is NOT the contractor for you.

We also had them remodel the staircase. The results of this remodeling was fantastic. Arcadii and his partner from ARNA Remodeling were very polite and punctual. They kept the typical construction mess to a minimum and completed the job in a timely fashion. Back in May/June 2025, I hired Handy Gentlemen for interior work on my house. It is now…read moremid-September. David, the owner, seems like a nice guy, and he did a good job replacing the tiles on my bathroom floor, and he (mostly his assistant) did a lot of painting, which on the whole looks good. But see below... The big issues were what I discovered after he was finished and had left: fresh paint stains in multiple areas, including the wood floor of my 19th century house and even furniture - which I cleaned up. Splattered paint near the ceiling of my kitchen which still, three months later, has not been patched, paint stains on my oriental rug, a major purchase 40 years ago, etc. David said he would pay for the rug damage, and I only asked for 50% of the very reasonable $175 cleaning cost. David told me to bill him via Zelle, something I said I'm not sure how to do. He already has my Zelle information, since that's how I paid him for the work. But after messaging him and emailing several times, he has not responded. And I still have paint streaks on the wall and an unpaid bill. So I can't recommend Handy Gentlemen. I think part of the problem is that David is under-manned and a bit overwhelmed, but not responding to my messages is unprofessional.

David made it look a million times better after he was done. The job took two days, where he repaired the ceiling, then painted it. Very efficient, good pricing and all around good guy.

I had called multiple roofers because I was having an issue with water leaking into my living room…read more None of them though could give me a definitive answer as to what was causing the issue and would therefore not perform any guaranteed work to fix the issue. I asked all the roofers if they wanted to cut into the ceiling but all insisted 'we work from the top down, not the bottom up'. I contacted Wall Eye to see if they would cut into my ceiling so I could perform an investigation into the issue myself. When David came by I got A LOT more than I expected. He not only did a great job of making a clean cut into my ceiling, he then took the time to take a look at the damage inside the ceiling, go outside to take a look at what was above the leak, and go upstairs to take a look at the window/roof above the leak. Before he left he told me 'I'm not a roofer but if I was to bet, your issue lies either with the seal around your window or the portion of your roof right above it". After David left I contacted another roofing company to come by and give their opinion of the issue (now being able to see inside the ceiling) and they stated they believed the issue was the EXACT same thing David did. The roofing company said they were so sure that this was the issue (based on being able to see inside the ceiling) that they were now able to guarantee the work that was done. The roofers have since completed their work and I have not the issue since. I am sure there are dozens if not more drywall contractors out there who can cut a hole or patch a hole - thankfully I was able to find one though who went completely above and beyond what was requested and/or required - David is a true 'class act' who I will never hesitate to call for any drywall work I need done in the future.

Mamut gave me time to be ready for the work and he showed up on time and his worker did too. They did the work as quoted with $200 extra added on for extra fence panels and the work looks wonderful. They were quick, professional and so far no issues with the work. I wish I had more resources to get my entire viewing parts of my fence replaced. We liked Mamut's work that we have gotten a second quote on more work that Mamut will be doing for my family.

I liked his sassy responses to online critics. When we first met, I told Markus our budget. We went with him to pick out cabinets and granite and paid for everything. We had already purchased all new appliances and they were on hold at Abt. It was Covid and materials were very expensive, so Markus suggested we wait until prices came down. We agreed. Last February, we again told Markus our budget and he said he could start in 2 weeks. Due to Covid, no thrift store would pick up donations of a dining room table, buffet, hutch, six chairs and a huge glass china cabinet, so we paid $1K+ to have a junk company take our furniture. Next time Markus showed up, he said the project would cost even more than we had budgeted, and he earlier agreed upon/ Finally, the cabinet company needed to get our stored cabinets out of their warehouse last month. They deliver to the front of our condo building, so we hired a moving company to bring them up to the third floor. While talking with the driver from the cabinet company, he showed me the invoice. I was confused because we paid for the cabinets through Rudis Tile and the cost was $15, 126. The invoice the driver showed me was for $8, 526. How could that be? I asked Markus to stop by implying I had work for him, and I showed him the copy of the cancelled check and a copy of the invoice. His face went bright red, he said he "didn't know what that paper(invoice) was" and I was "never supposed to see that" and he fulfilled "the contract" because I "had my cabinets." Markus said he was going to talk to the manager of the cabinet company and find out what the invoice was and a lot of other nonsense. He left my home that day and I have not heard from him. I emailed him the other day and asked what happened with the manager of the cabinet company, but naturally, Markus did not respond. So, Markus overcharged us $6,600 for cabinets. I understand a contractor might markup materials, but 100%? Do not deal with Markus or Rudis Tile. He inherited this company from his father, and he has two other full-time jobs. Markus is, in my experience, a thief without a conscience. He knew my husband and I lived on disability and a pension, yet he chose to steal from us. I am sure Markus will have a sassy reply to this review, but just remember; he lies as easily as he breathes, and he is a thief. I know this because he robbed us of $6,600 and he lied about doing so. He jerked us around for 2 years, but we have finally found a great company to do our remodel. For a much lower price than Markus quoted. According to Markus, he "fulfilled his contract" because we have our cabinets. This person does not understand this is an ethical issue, not a contractual issue. Markus may stick to the contract, but he has no ethics as a business person. ******UPDATE ON THIS PROJECT***** I just found out that Markus did not order enough cabinets for the kitchen remodel! Now I have to wait to purchase the rest of the cabinets that Markus did not order! He claimed when I spoke to him that I "changed the design 3 times" which is not true. I changed it once due to financial reasons. Markus did not properly measure the space and did not update the design when I did the one change. Now I am short at least 4 base cabinets. Markus screwed us once again. DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS DISGUSTING MAN.

Markus demolished the old tile floor and reinstalled the exact same tiles we had to repurchase. Markus's attention to detail and top quality craftsmanship cannot be overstated. We now have a very high quality subfloor and a lot of care went into making sure the tiles were all laid completely flat and level as can be seen in the included photos. Markus and his team will do whatever it takes to make a deadline. This includes working on the weekend or late into the night if necessary. In addition he is very pleasant to work with. He goes above and beyond to the point of helping us clean the snow off of our car. We have another project on the horizon and will seriously consider Rudi's Tile and Design Construction, Inc. for the job.
