They are the real deal--this is a completely family run business and they treat each and every customer with respect and honesty. I am used to going to mechanics who make you feel dumb if you don't understand something or want it explained. At JC Auto Repair everyone is always friendly and willing to answer any questions in detail. You can also trust them, they have told me when I did not need certain repairs although Mavis told me I needed many expensive items. Their prices are fair, and even if an item or two could be slightly more expensive, it is 100% worth it., and absolutely worth the piece of mind that they are doing it right the first time. John the owner is amazing-he is super friendly and takes pride in the work they do-he has been a mechanic for over 50 yrs! Over the years I have tried many mechanics and generally they are in it for the money and could actually care less about their customers. Even when calling and talking to the office staff (daughter of the family) they are so kind and patient, and at times I was calling multiple times to get clarification on a service I need etc. It is so refreshing to find a mechanic that is honest, ethical and appreciates your business, and offers amazing customer service. You can tell they have pride in the work they do and it shows. It really is amazing to see how a locally run business can operate in a way that the big corporations cannot.

Pumped gas here before- but didn't think once about getting my oil changed. With no appointment, went on a whim and wished to be seen before doors closed at 5pm. Pulled up and told to inquire in the "office". Asked Christine- who mans the office and suggested I return the following day, but that didn't cut it for me- and I was in- after some hesitation. As I'm getting a price quote, a man (whoever he is) had the audacity of smoking right in the office. Told Christine I'd wait outside and not be bothered by all his cigarette smoke and went back in a bit after. The "office" is dreary and seriously cluttered. Cushions on chairs are torn and decided it was best to stand. But I kinda looked past that, and chitchatted with Christine while my car was getting serviced. We took care of logistics and finalized my payment. Affordable? I'm not sure- as I can't compare it to anything else except Valvoline's super cheap $19.95 sale. And while there are a million and one Valvoline's, their new model wasn't working for me. The approach here was friendly, professional and there was no lollygagging. I honestly felt confident with the guys here. They were reliable and Christine made waiting- effortless.

I thought I had a flat but none of my tire indicators were on, nor any of my engine lights. I pulled off the highway and parked on the side of the road in a residential area and started investigating, which for me means kicking the tires and checking the oil. I'd just had the brakes done, but I couldn't see anything loose. A neighbor walked up, asked if he could help, but the problem seemed bigger than either of us could fathom. That's when he recommended this service station. I pulled in at about 9 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and the place was hopping. The owner came out, listened to my story, and said he might or might not be able to get to it today because his guys were leaving at 1 PM. I didn't have a lot of options, driving to the service station made me very nervous because of the clunk and clatter, so I parked the car, called around, and started calculating the cost of having my car towed 160 miles to home. Joao, the owner, came out to check on me, and I told him I hadn't found any other service stations that could help. He said he'd squeeze me in. His mechanic drove it into the bay and figured out the problem in one minute. Loose tire. As in, one of the bolts was about to pop out and the rest were wriggling free. I shudder to think what would've happened if I had been on the Hutch when the driver side front tire decided to separate from the vehicle! All of us breathed a huge sigh of relief. The mechanic double checked my new back brakes, tightened all the Lugnuts, and then they sent me to the local bagel shop with a list of pastries and coffee for the team. This was the lucky, lucky day I got to buy everybody breakfast as compensation for the repairs. Otherwise, no charge. As a musician on the road, I've had my share of breakdowns and emergencies. All in all, I've been really lucky, and today was no exception. If you're in a pinch, I recommend Joao and his friendly, efficient team without reservation.
