I love "building your own" dog with Matt's many toppings options, but they also offer Matt's Signature Dogs with toppings like Bacon & Mac and Chili & Cheese. Matt's housemade dipping sauces also taste great, especially Matt's Cheddar sauce. Our hot dogs were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of char, and the fries were crispy and crunchy. Note: the fries might be too salty for those sensitive to salt, but the salt flakes are large and easy to brush off. Service was fairly quick, with our order being ready in about 15 minutes even though it was packed. Oh yeah, we love this place. Super simple menu, customizable hotdogs and burgers with sodas and shakes and sides with a few other options. Very small on the inside, if it gets busy I imagine it can get packed. Thankfully the times I've gone it wasn't too busy. The service could be a little friendlier but the food makes up for it. Their burgers are those greasy sloppy type but they are ohhhh so good. The hotdogs are great, we love a good footlong with some cheese. The fresh cut fries are delicious also with cheese! I wanted to get back in the spirit of yelp... it's been a minute and this place really inspired me to dust off my reviewer boots. This place brings you back to a simplistic time with a classic menu, easy ordering, and an all around great vibe. Went on a Monday night around 745/8 and were the only people there at the time but it was perfect. We shared "The Great Divide" which is onion rings and fries together (as a French fry connoisseur trust me when I say ... GET THE FRIES) along with a classic chili dog and then a build your own type dog with ketchup and onion. The cheese was a cheese wiz type vibe and I personally prefer a shredded cheese on my dog so I went with just onions and ketchup with the beef frank.... MOUTH WATERING. The dogs were cooked perfectly with the taste of the grill but has that nice pop at the same time. The chili was not sweet which is exactly what I want on a chili dog! This has been on my list to visit for a while, because I pass it every time I'm coming back from Fort Myers. so glad I finally stopped by to check it out, and yup, it definitely won't be my last time eating here! I liked how quick and easy it was to order at the counter inside, and the overhang outside seating for hot days. The food is all cooked fresh and comes to your piping hot. The fries are AMAZING. I liked the ability to try different sauces: the barbecue is probably my least favorite only because it was a little too sweet for me. The chipotle was the most versatile. The cheese sauce was good, and I liked that it was heated up. We finished off our meal with ice cream because why not?? And it was creamy and cold and sweet and everything you want sitting outside on a summer day. Just writing this review makes me wanna go back again! Prices are great pretty close to what you would pay to scream into a kiosk and still get your order wrong after repeating it numerous times. Looking for a nice Chicago Dog, I was looking forward to eating here but sadly I was dissapointed. The quality of hot dogs they're serving missed the spot. I certainly don't know the brand they're pushing but I can tell you the hot dog tasted like just filler with no good tasting meat. They need some of the other better brands of hot dogs. I wanted to leave but stayed and saw more gross from the grill, the back area, the doors, the chairs, dirty and I had the feeling they just don't care. Matt wasn't there so I spoke to the staff after customers left not to embarrass them. He said, the place is old. I said I've been a customer for years and I eat local places. I said, care about your business and clean. They need to pressure wash and use bleach. The health department hasn't been there in years and I wonder how Matt has let this go down so bad. Ordered a foot-long hotdog with mustard and chili, small fry, and a Logan berry drink The hotdog was over-cooked, and the french fries were the bottom of the basket and burnt. Went on a Tuesday around five. I ordered a hotdog with Mac and cheese and chili cheese fries to share with mom. Mom got the hot dog with chili cheese. I liked my hot dog is was hot creamy and delicious. They have lots of toppings to choose from like pickles tomatoes and the usual condiments of Mayo and ketchup. There is outside seating which is recommended because it's hot AF and Smokey inside. They offer free soda refills. I got onions rings to go and they were bad. Checked out Matt's during my time down in Florida. Sought this place out because I like drive inn restaurants for a quick meal and this checked the box. I got a chili dog, they serve the brand Sahlen hot dogs which must be popular down there. It was a meaty chili on a foot long dog, grilled in front of you, had the nice charcoal taste to it. My wife got a cheese dog with onion on it, she enjoyed it. We also split an order of fries which looked hand-cut and enjoyable as well. The promise of hot dogs and hand cut fries will have me detouring in that direction no matter where I was intending to go. Having recently experienced "Buffalo hot dogs", I was excited to hear that Matt's served Sahlens hot dogs which are what we had when in Buffalo. My foot long and wife's regular were grilled to perfection. We shared an order of hand cut fries. In retrospect, I should have gotten my own order instead of sharing. (It is easy for a restaurant to buy their fries frozen. Any restauranteur who cares about what they are serving goes the hand cut direction. More work, better product) Hot dogs and fries were excellent. We will be back in Florida for a month later this winter. We had not eaten here this season and stopped to pick up food in our last day. We got hot dogs with bacon and cheese and an order of onion rings to take back to our place to eat for lunch because we weren't hungry yet.
