We bought a Toyota Sequioa from a private party and it had seen better days when we acquired it. We normally clean and maintain our own cars, but we could tell that it was going to be near impossible to make our new car feel new on our own - everything felt kind of sticky, the armrests had a brown tint rubbed into them from going so long without cleaning, and the inside just smelled like another family. Plus, with COVID and having a newborn, it felt like having it sanitized with high temp steam was a good idea. Bought a car off craigslist for cheap. Didn't notice a bad smell for a couple days after I bought it (my father in law sprayed some car odor stuff to get the cigarette smell out but ended up lifting an even worse smell). Left it for a few days and finally lifted up the floor mats; they were wet and smelt disgusting, like dirty feet and someone living in the car. So the next morning I immediately started shopping around for someone to save my car. Found Matt here on yelp. I called him and answered right away and he told me one of his deals and said he can forward me his website with the rest of the deals. He texted me the information and we were able to text back and forth (which was great for me because I prefer text over call any day). He offered me a deal between $160-190 without any extra charge to come to my place, I said okay, he showed up 45 minutes later at my place. He took a look at my car (the seats and floor were covered with baking soda that I poured down the night before to absorb the moisture (parts of it were brown already)) and said it was pretty bad and that he would have to charge me the $190, but with the convenience of him coming to my place quickly and without extra charge is worth it, especially when compared to shops that START at $150 and have secret additional fees, while also waiting 5+ hours and ubering home and back. He said that the job would take an hour to an hour and a half, but it really took about two hours, but I didn't really mind since they were at my home anyway and I had no where to go for a couple of hours; however if I was him I would overestimate the time it would take a bit because some customers may get mad if you underestimate and your not finished. When he was done my car smelled better, it didn't have a new car smell but the bad smell was also gone (it smelled like feet and someone living in it (I bought it off of craigslist) before he cleaned it). He said it would take 1-2 hours for it to dry, but in reality it took a couple of days to dry. After a couple of days I bought some new floors mats, but a couple of days after putting them down I notice there is a weird smell coming back (not the same smell from before but a "wet" kind of smell) I check underneath the mats and see that there is still a bit of moisture and wetness; I guess I added the mats too soon. Again would over estimate when it comes to the timing of this too. So I remove my mats and let my floor dry for a day and I notice the smell lingering on so I decide to spray the floors with white vinegar and water, which is good for molding, I'm not sure if my car is getting moldy but it is good to prevent it. If Matt didn't clean it though I would definitely had a bigger mold problem on my hands though, which he did warn me about if I didn't let the car dry enough (even though he said it would take an hour to dry lol) Overall, Matt was able to get the disgusting smell out and cleaned it really well, does the car smell great? no. does it smell bad? no. It's a 2004 used car off of craigslist so it's not like he didn't do a good job, it's just the car. Would give a 4.5 if I could, just because of the underestimations of time it would take to clean and time it would take to dry. Would totally recommend though, he is affordable, quick, and convenient. He also forwarded me videos of him cleaning and pouring out the dirty water too, which I will try to post. read more

There have been times that I've taken my car to a car wash and later discovered that they didn't wipe something down, left a french fry under the seat, or missed a spot on the exterior.
