Buyer beware. We normally like to use small and locally owned businesses, and find that they typically provide superior service. That isn't the case here. Our new mattress was delivered, but the crew refused to take our old mattress and foundation, contrary to what Tarik had told us would happen when we purchased the new set. The installation crew leader was rude, unprofessionally dressed in pajama pants and driving a rental truck, and told us that they could not put the old mattress with into their truck because it had slight staining. He indicated that they were a subcontractor to the store and not employees. You had to look very hard to find a small sweat stain on the mattress, which was their excuse. To make things worse, he then said that they couldn't dispose of the foundation because they only take complete sets of mattresses and foundations. He said that they donate the used mattress to churches, but nothing of this nature was mentioned when we purchased the mattress. Our 12 year old mattress was quite worn out and I can't imaging anyone wanting it - it is ready for the landfill. Basically, we feel that we were lied to by Tarik. Should anything happen that requires a warranty, I no longer trust this store, as my gut feel is they would shirk their responsibility or tell us more lies. We were shopping for two mattresses, but I can tell you that the second certainly won't be purchased from this store. read more

Wow! What awesome service we received here. My husband and I were in search of a new mattress and we both had different preferences on types of mattresses we thought we'd like. The daughter who owns her store with her mom was super helpful, giving Recs and letting us try out each mattress. We went to a large mattress store after this and got terrible service and Ended up going right back to Mattresses and beyond to buy our mattress. We love it! Highly recommend. read more

store used to be great but look at the good reviews that are all over 5 years old they denied my warranty because I spillilled a fine powder on bed its an asian tea, they claim that is the same as having an abortion on the matress so its ""biologically contaminated"" I used to love he owner of this store they do not honor warranties. details the springs broke in my mattress so it does not matter if it has tea stainds they lie and use as an excuse,they will blow you off of you call about a warranty ignore calls etc...... read more

We bought a mattress here a bit ago and when it arrived it was soaked through from rain. They were nice and took it back. Then we tried to shop there again and they were understaffed. The prices fluctuate all over the place and it's pretty dirty inside. Finally, after shopping we walked next door to eat and came back the older guy there told us our car didn't belong there and threatened to tow us. Not a nice way to sell a $1000+ product. I'm the sort of person who spends a lot of time researching stuff, and doesn't generally make rash purchases, unless it's some middle of the night amazon mishap. After going to every store you can think of, and having various meh experiences, I landed here. This is the exact sort of place I wanted to buy from, local, family owned, and the experience was incredibly relaxing, while also being quite informative. The sales people here give you all the time in the world, and they don't try to push more expensive beds on you, when you go here you're going to get what you want. When I walked in, I got taken through all the different options, they were all thoroughly explained, and I was given time to myself to rest on each one, in various positions. We found the 5 or so beds that seemed good to me, and I narrowed it down, one by one, spending 5-10 minutes on each one. When I walked out, I knew I made the right choice, and I was incredibly happy with my decision. Save yourself some time, skip the big box stores, skip the other nonsense stores, do it right the first time, this is the place to go if you need a mattress. read more

Husband and I found our mattress at Mattresses & Beyond. Our shopping experience was great. Robin was amazing. Knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered our mattress at it took about 2.5 weeks to have it delivered. That's when the experience looses stars. I was told they would be at my home between noon and 1. I made sure to be home at that time. It came and went. I called and was told the delivery folks came early (10:20am) but did NOT contact myself or husband. They left. I got no phone call. I called the store and was told they did contact me. (A lie). They said they contacted my husband. (A lie). I don't mind having an early delivery. Don't lie to me saying you called. Now I am waited longer. In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal but the lying to me is. Don't lie. Own up. Plus *I* had to call for an update. Edit to add- when the delivery guys did arrive the sheet set and mattes protector that was given as a Promotion (or something) was not delivered even though it stated on my written receipt that it was to be delivered with the mattress. When we called the store they denied ever giving this offer/that we already got the said items. I love my mattress but was just a cluster of a process. Went to Mattresses and beyond, and spent 2 hours. Robin was great and very knowledgeable. She let me take my time and I literally laid around for a couple hours. We narrowed it down to 3 mattresses. I went home and researched them and couldn't find a better price or comparable mattress so I called back to order one of the 3. I spoke with Tarik, and he asked me a few more questions, and placed the order for me. It was delivered the day I wanted and the set up & removal was flawless. My family stopped in last weekend to purchase a mattress for our youngest child and the experience couldn't have been more pleasant. The gentleman helping us was so kind to our little guy and let him bounce around on all the mattresses until we settled on one. They had it in stock so we left with it that day! Several years ago, my husband and I purchased a mattress from this store and one for our older son. They're still like new! Definitely avoid big box stores and shop here instead. Literally, the best mattress store ever. The owners are a mother & daughter team, and I believe it's their husband/dad that typically mans the store. He is extremely knowledgeable without being pushy, and both times we've purchased mattresses, he's initially suggested less expensive mattresses than we ended up choosing (I love that we aren't automatically steered towards the most expensive). He's very friendly and was very sweet to our daughter. The process to purchase is extremely fast-- we even had a couple in front of us, and we were in and out in 1/2 hour. Mattresses are clearly priced, and removal of old mattress sets and delivery of new are included in the price. The first time, we were able to get the mattress next day! The second time, it took about 5 days which was still fast. Delivery guys called ahead as promised and arrived within the 2 hour window. Will never shop anywhere else for a mattress! read more

Tarik immediately agreed that I was looking for the right kind of mattress and directed me towards ones he thought I would like. He was honest, pleasant and gave us the best deal around. After hitting up Art Van across the street and Art Van Pure Sleep next door I stopped in here. It's a pretty unassuming little place and the selection isn't huge but the service was really friendly and I liked the salesman's personality. Tarik took care of me, walking me through the store and explaining what he had, how each mattress compared, explained the warranties, delivery and removal, available financing and answered any questions I had. I never felt like he was rushing or strong arming me and when I was done looking I said that I needed to think on my decision for 24 hours which he was happy with and told me to take my time. I came back in the next day and purchased the mattress I was considering and they delivered it within the next two hours and took my old mattress away. It couldn't have been more painless. I'd highly recommend checking into this place if you're in the market for a new mattress. read more

Bought a king mattress from them 3.5 years ago (it had a 10-year warranty) and it was defective. They came out saw the defect and are giving me a new, free mattress! This place has a good collection of spring mattresses but not very many memory foam ones (they have some traditional, soy and latex foam mattresses but not anything I liked). For very high quality mattresses I would go elsewhere, but for low to mid/high quality mattresses this store is fine. The sales associates are great. I dealt with 2 different people, and they were both pleasant and courteous. They tried to help me find a bed I liked rather than just sell me something, and were very accepting of how long I laid down on each mattress for. I also needed a mattress delivered the next day and they clearly pointed out what was in stock and what wasn't. One sales rep also did a good job juggling two consumers at once which I thought was difficult. Most importantly, they are not pushy. I did not buy a mattress from here so I can't speak on the price negotiations, but I assume they would go smoothly. read more

This review is more about several problems with items purchased from Day and Night Furniture of Vancouver, WA (separate review posted for it) than for this store, but since we purchased the Day and Night Furniture items from this store, this review reflects disappointment that this store would sell products from such an over-priced, unreliable source. Also, while Robin (owner of this store) was helpful in dealing with the problems with Day and Night Furniture, she was unwilling to offer any monetary concessions until the last problem that was sort of "the straw that broke the camel's back." Also, when Robin is not there, which seems to occur frequently, her parents fill in for her. While they are very nice, pleasant folks, they don't seem to be able to do much other than to say "Wait until Robin returns" when dealing with any problems. All in all, I have to say that dealing with this store is more trouble than it's worth, especially with the dozens of other competitors in the area. read more

This a good local business that knows how to treat their customers right. I bought two Serta mattress sets (made in Michigan) here last month. I am a repeat customer. I like the way they take their time to find out what I need and don't use high pressure sales tactics. Excellent delivery crew. I needed a twin mattress for my step Mom so she can stay in the room with my Dad who is fighting cancer and moving to a hospital bed. They delivered the bed within four hours. OK, so I just bought a house last week. On moving day, the movers go to take my queen sized box spring up the stairs of my bungalow home, and bam... long story short, it wasn't going to go. This being stressor number 9,999,991 in the home buying process, I just shook my head and stared blankly. The movers suggested that I either chainsaw my box spring in half (for real) or go get a split queen. Even though we've been basically hemorrhaging money during this whole process, we opted to save the chainsaw for another day, and get a new box spring. We just got in the car and drove up Woodward, figuring we weren't going to have any luck, since split queens aren't too common. We took a chance and pulled into Mattresses and Beyond. The sales lady, Robin, is very friendly and greeted us right away. I asked her if she happened to have any split queens and she asked "did you just buy a bungalow" when I just laughed and nodded, she asked "Berkley, or Royal Oak?". I knew that I was in good hands. Since this is a common problem in the area, Robin told us that they always keep one or two on hand. Excellent. She also told us that she could have it delivered in less than an hour. Amazing (since we'd spend the following days waiting for cable men, plumbers, and various delivery men with windows spanning from 4-6 hours). Not only were they there with the box spring in under an hour, they were courteous and polite. Just when my fiance and I were talking about how lucky we were to find the box spring and have it delivered on our first try and within an hour, there was a knock on the door. The delivery men came back to take the mattress up the stairs for us! SO NICE! The mattress still has another year or two left in it, but when it's time for a new one, I wouldn't even consider looking anywhere else, and I wouldn't recommend you do either! Oh, and a sidenote. They don't take back old beds because they don't want to contaminate new beds being delivered with bedbugs from old beds. That made me feel very, very good. read more

There are two mattress shops nearby with reasonably higher prices and half the selection. There's also cheaper headboards and bunk beds. The store owner took the time to explain organic vs. non-organic bedding materials. I was thankful since a lot of my family suffers from asthma. They sold both organic and non-organic mattresses so I was impressed with her honesty. She put a lot of care into answering all my questions. Very happy with my purchase. read more

Probably the easiest place to shop for furniture, and it's funny because the surrounding mattress shops and the art van carry the same models but will always be more expensive if you call and check. The other plus is this is one of the few shops that carries organic bedding, and it's a family that owns and manages the shop. read more
