Staff not attentive to incoming/ new customers. When I walked in all staff (3) was huddled around their workstation talking amongst themselves. After viewing their floor stock 2 times I left, not to be greeted or asked if I needed help once. Do not shop here. We had to replace all the furniture in our home due to a fire and are working with several stores in the area. Bill and his staff at Italmoda went out of their way to be helpful to us. Sharon even came to our house to advise on lighting. Today we received delivery on our Dining Room Table, Chairs and Buffet along with another Nook Table and Chairs and a Leather Love Seat. The delivery was very professional, unlike what we experienced with another store in the area recently. Bill even called to ask how we liked our new furniture. He has loads of books to order from as well as a very attractive show room. Horrible customer service and never buying at Italmoda again! I bought bedroom furniture and it took longer than expected to arrive (5-6 weeks). Once it arrived and the bed was assembled two screws would not fit. The assembly person first lied about "fixing" it, but when I checked no screws were put in. I called the owner to get this fixed, but always the same response "we will take care of it tomorrow". After two weeks of waiting, I told him that I will pick up the screws and fix it myself. First time I drove back to pick up the screws they did not have the screws. Second time (three days later) the owner just gave me the wrong screws. Save money and time by ordering furniture anywhere else - worst experience I had. read more

Bad experience with Italmoda. Ordered a sofa early December '06 Was told It would take 6 weeks. Six weeks go by no sofa. Called store and was told it would take 2 more weeks. In two weeks still no sofa. Decide to call the manufacturer in Canada and was told that Italmoda had a "bad account" and all orders were on hold. Called Italmoda and was told it was going to take longer. Since I really wanted the sofa I decided to wait it out to see what happens. Fast forward to March '06, I get a call from the store saying delivery would be set up for March 5 after remaining balance is paid. Paid balance on March 4 and still haven't received delivery as promised. Finally get a call from delivery guy on March 5. When they bring the sofa its the wrong color and size! Angrily call back to the store. They have no sympathy and act as if they can't understand why I.m upset! They lied about the delivery time, didn't bother to call and update me on the matter, acted suprised that I was angry and didn't bother to try to rectify the situation. Sad. Although they have beautiful (but pricy) furniture, I will never order from them again! It has been thirteen weeks since I ordered my furniture and I still don't have the correct sofa. When I speak to them on the phone they act as if I have no right to be upset. read more

We'll start with the good, the bad and then the ugly. We've dealt with them from 2013-2015 and have almost all our lights/lamps from Ital Moda as well as our bedroom set, dining room chairs, couch bed, among other pieces of furniture, was well as several pieces from the Kartell brand. Much of our furniture is from Ital Moda. The Good: The co-owner Sharon is a talented interior designer with a good eye and excellent taste. Her design work was complimentary with the purchases we made. Both Sharon and co-owner Bill have access to many of the high end Italian furniture brands and more. The Bad: You can't return items, they only offer store credit. And it's hard to know what things look like in person, as most of the items you choose are from catalogs and they order it. The store is way too tiny and cramped to have everything displayed in their showroom. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BY FAR THE WORST WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY. We wanted to support a local furniture store but from now on we are sticking with corporate furniture stores because you most likely will not experience the terrible customer service from Ital Moda. They are avoidant and disorganized. Expect orders to take way longer than they estimate. Granted some things are out of their control, like when one of the furniture companies they work with had a fire and the bed we ordered from Canada was supposedly burned on its way to us. Several pieces of furniture also arrived damaged- they replaced them, but since they are from Italy it was another long wait. These are things out of their control, but the following are in their control and are noteworthy to mention. The Ugly: At first they are friendly when you are putting in your order, but once they take your money, the customer service goes down hill. I will summarize some of the negative experiences we have faced in the last two years working with them. I have taken time off work for deliveries only to discover they have delivered the wrong order (someone else's). They had their "A-Team" which consisted of two very young (inexperienced) guys put together a bed, and mirror in our foyer when their regular two furniture deliver/installers (Sam and I can't recall the other one's name) were unavailable. The inexperienced "A-Team" couldn't figure out the headboard at first and asked if I had a picture of what its supposed to look like (totally unprofessional). The mirror they installed in the foyer was crooked, and the regular installers had to come and re-do it. Sam from Ital Moda said that the way the mirror was hung was incorrect and that if he hadn't adjusted it, it would have fallen off the wall! As other reviews have mentioned, they don't return phone calls, they avoid you at all costs when things go wrong, (But they are very good at returning your call when you say you want to place an order and will call you back expeditiously the same day!). Once you call to follow up on an order that has not arrived, you will be lucky if you ever receive a phone call. From November 2, 2014 to January 28, 2015, I sent several text messages to Sharon and left several voicemails on her phone and Ital Moda store. I did not here back until January 31, 2015 about an order I placed May 2014 and was informed the order would be ready "toward the end of February." Most of her communication is via text message. She prefers not to call. From April 27, 2015 to May 13, 2015 I tried to follow up with the same order above that I never received. I could not get a straight response about this order. There was always some excuse about the manufacturer. Finally on June 29, 2015, I cancelled the order after waiting over a year. I had to also follow up on my refund- very frustrating. We didn't receive it till the third week of July 2015. You would think after waiting a year they would at least send the refund expeditiously. One shouldn't have to beg for their refund. Additionally, I've never been to a business where you have to remind them for receipts/invoices and it takes months to get them. We finally got them scanned and emailed after much pleading. I'm very disappointed that after all the money we spent, we really did not feel valued as a customer. They do not care about their customers and do not return calls/texts. It is unacceptable to take nearly three months for a business to return your call. It was very stressful dealing with Ital Moda and totally not worth it. read more

I wrote a terrible review about this store because I had problems with the table I had bought and Bill would not call back. All of that is true but I never gave Sharon a chance to fix this problem. Well fix it she did. I actually never went into the store, I only kept calling. I have very bad eyes and drive as little as possible. On this day however, I had no choice and had to go to a doctor that was close to the store so I went in and spoke to Sharon. She was WONDERFUL!!! Within 3 days I had a brand new table. It was a different style made out of different materials that won't chip. Sharon did everything to make this right. So I must edit my bad review and tell everyone how great Sharon was and all is well. read more

I do not enjoy writing bad reviews. However, if this can help someone else to not experience what I experienced, then I need to share. I gave two stars because we did receive some products which were in good condition. We purchased a couch which we were told to be 100% genuine leather from Italmoda. It was specifically requested that we were only looking for the highest quality genuine leather. After only a few years of use, this "genuine leather" began to peel and flake off. It was to our disgust to find that this was definitely bonded leather. And just to note, I am in school full time and am not home very often. Also I put this couch as a statement piece and used it very little. My few years of using it was probably equal to 4-6 months of regular use. When contacting Italmoda to help correct this issue, their availability was close to none. I sent my first concern notice in early Jan 2015. It took them months to get back to me. After I heard from them, it was multiple email threads which usually ended with something along the line of how they will get back to me with an update but they had no information yet. They never got back to me. Almost all email threads begin with me reaching out to them. Very unprofessional. Finally they told me that they can't help me because I'm out of warranty. However, the warranty wasn't the issue I was having. I was trying to right the wrong of being sold something which I was told was 100% genuine leather but was actually bonded leather. I ended up contacting the coach manufacturer on my own. Italmoda was no help and my experience was extremely disappointing. read more
