On 2/17 My my wife and I went to Mattress Warehouse to buy a new mattress set. The salesperson was helpful and gave us a great deal on a set because he claimed it was an "overstock" item. He sold us the set and scheduled delivery for the very next day Monday, 2/18. We were thrilled because it was Presidents Day and we were already off work so it was very convenient. We were told we would receive a call the next morning between 7-9 with our delivery window. Shortly after 9 the next morning we received a call that our bed was back ordered and could not be delivered to us until Wednesday 2/20. How can a product be an overstock and then be back ordered less than 24 hours later? This is false advertising. We agreed to reschedule the delivery, although we were annoyed. On Tuesday 2/19, we received a call from the delivery location that our mattress was delayed again and would not be to us until Thursday 2/21. We complained but were told they couldn't do anything and to call the store. My wife contacted the customer service 800 number to discuss a credit of our delivery fee. She was told that the only person who could approve that was the regional director Tarq and was given his direct number. At this point we did not attempt to call him, but waited to see if the bed was delivered on Thursday as scheduled. Thursday morning we waited for the call for our delivery window, but none came. A little after 9, my wife called the delivery location to inquire. The woman who answered looked up our ticket and told us that our delivery was not scheduled until 4/30/2013!!!!! The person again was unable to help us and instructed us to call the store. Before the store opened, my wife left a voicemail for Tarq, the regional director, voicing our frustration. My wife then called the store and spoke to Adam, the original salesperson (who was the ONLY positive part of the whole experience) who promised us a mattress the next day. Either the one we ordered or another that we could come and pick out. Indeed, our original mattress set was finally delivered the next day, Friday 2/22. We feel that because we were inconvenienced significantly with this delivery issue in having to schedule time off of work repeatedly because the delivery day kept changing, we should be credited all or some of the delivery charge. We paid for the service of delivery on a certain day and did not get what we paid for, having to make numerous phone calls just to get the bed we ordered delivered. On Friday 2/22 my wife left another message for the regional director who has not returned either of our messages to date. Today, 2/27, my wife called the store to speak to the store manager about a credit of the delivery fee and to express the frustration that the district manager was not returning the messages we left. He said that we could call the 800 customer service number, but we've already been that route and they could not authorize a credit. The only other offer of help he extended us was to give a message to Tarq, the district manager who already has a track record with us for not ever getting back to people (we have read reviews online from another customer who also mentions Tarq not returning their phone calls either). He said that we should expect a call "within a week". We're not holding our breath. All we want is a credit for the delivery fee to compensate for the numerous phone calls we had to make and for the inconvenience to our work schedules this ordeal has created. read more
