um,,, AMAZING!!! for all those reviews stating items are overpriced,,, most all of the furniture items are, #1 imported from overseas, & #2 refurbished and restored on site! Many of the items here are fantastically historic, and for that they are worth a pretty penny is some cases. But from what I see it is ALL reasonable priced considering the work that goes into getting these pieces to you, & restoring them to a functional condition. & mind you, this is a family owned business! I'll pay some extra cash to support an establishment such as this before any big run of the mill store. We need more places like this! I found an authentic Dutch bassinet, likely 100 yrs old, in fantastic condition for only $60! I plan to use it for my newborn! This store & warehouse is RAW! and a great experience, seriously like a museum except everything is for sale! how cool! Owners/staff are very very nice. My sister recommended this place to me because I was looking for some Asian items for the house. Unfortunately, Paul said they'd be closed in 6 months and most of their Asian and European offerings were long gone. If you are in need of some 1920's-40's looking industrial creations though, they have some of that stuff, but not much exciting anymore. My sister used to bring home all kinds of interesting pieces, but alas, I found nothing interesting that fit my needs. read more

This is a very unique antique store in town. They are known for their international goods. Lots of old stuff from Europe and Asia. From repurposed furniture, decor, to outdoor plants. It's really a gem of a place. A very creative space! read more

Paul is a dishonest swindler. Beware, that despite the 40% off sale he recently significantly jacked the prices up. I bought quite a few pieces of furniture during this sale and wanted another piece. I called and asked them to hold the piece and when I came to pick it up a few days later the item had a brand new tag on it and the price was $350 higher!!!! I told him about it and initially he lied and said the price was not changed. He then admitted it and said it was still a good buy and I should get it but refused to give sell it at the price I placed it on hold at!!!NO THANKS PAUL. SO DISHONEST. read more

Interestiomg collection but astronomical prices. The owner claims the prices are firm because if the "wholesale aspect", yet sells every trinket and curiosity on an individual basis. 3 stars for interesting stock and local business. Deduct for attitude. I've seen stock sit here for years, but they will tell you it's flying out the door. You never know who your wholesale buyers may be. Try not to treat people like they don't know anything, especially when they reference the item by the appropriate term and you don't even know what you have. read more

Always unusual. Great stuff at Great Stuff! He travels all over the world and then has containers delivered from different countries throughout the year. You never know what is arriving, so keep checking. Sometimes from Asia, sometimes England or France or Italy or Holland. He has the most unusual pieces that you won't find anywhere else. There are two locations- the downtown store (where everything is cleaned and displayed) and the warehouse a few blocks away. The back of the warehouse us stocked to the rafters. A colleague recommended this place to me, and it is unmissable, even for folks that aren't crazy about antiques and don't want to spend a lot of money- even you can find some really cute odds and ends for the house, and great gifts. The owner is really friendly too. It's best to take your time and wander around- you can find some old-school desks, cool globes and maps, amazing hats, tables, beakers- you name it and it (might) be there. If you're coming from DC or Baltimore, Frederick is worth the trip, even if Great Stuff is your only destination. The location is great- close to a busy street with cute wine shops and other antique stores. read more

This place should be called Ok Stuff by Paul. While I wasn't amazed by anything in the shop, I wasn't disappointed either. I found just about everything in here to be way above my price range ($18 for mass produced antique-looking keys made in India, for example) but I'm sure if you dig around for a while, you'll find something good. All in all, it's a nice stop on the Frederick Antique circuit - definitely worth a stop in! read more

Trace pieces of everyday antiques..spools, a piece of china, a tea set SURROUNDED BY FOREIGN MADE FOR MARKET brand new..yes its from other lands but age?? No. Greatly displayed..beautiful shop...BUT NOT ANTIQUE!! You need a huge hand crafted African dough bowl ?? Fine..they got it. This place is kooky crazy... great stop on the Frederick antique tour circuit and a little different than the run-of-the-mill antique shops. The place is big, the main room has big furniture pieces, many Asian, along with old tables, big doors and other stuff. Walk through the back room and you'll come across what looks to be ship loads of old stuff from Asia.... lots and lots of rice buckets, stools, desks.... if you saw one at a yard sale or flea market it would be cool but to see 10's upon 10's of the same thing, you think something is fishy, then you don't believe the price because you think it should be lower. A must stop in Frederick. He has two shops so if you can't find what you're looking for at one, you'll find it at the other. The main room is mostly furniture but the warehouse in the back has really cool, cheaper items. The main room has AC but the back warehouse does not so prepare if you visit during the summer months. They also have a restroom in the main room, which is nice since you'll probably spend a lot of time looking around. read more

It's all in the name people. Paul really does have great stuff! My boyfriend and I have been in several times and have bought a few items. If only we had a bigger house to add more of his unique items to our vintage, modern taste. We have met Paul a couple of times and he is one of the nicest people we have met in Frederick. Stopped in their smaller location first and found ourselves interested on an old factory cart. The store employee recommended we check out the warehouse as they have more to choose from. Warehouse was pretty awesome, a lot to look at. Found a perfect factory cart for our family room. Jim was there to help us with the item and went the extra mile helping us load it into a usual to pick up..thank you! Not the typical antique store that you are used to. Theres not a lot of knick knacks and old books or old items from someones house they no longer want. There are different pieces form all around the world. This place should be band Pier 1 Imports in a dusty warehouse. The products may be authentic imports, but they were made in overseas factories and there isn't anything 'great' about them. read more

I had been looking for a large round vintage bread board and couldn't find one, I called Paul's about their oblong boards and I was told they didn't have any left just one ROUND one...yea...good price and decent shipping, so bought it. I had shopped there two times before and always come away with neat items and also went to their display at the Charlotte, NC large antique show. read more
